Jeff Jarrett pinned Barry Windham at 3:35 with a roll over after Jim Cornette hit Windham with the tennis racquet; due to prematch stipulations, Jarrett won the vacant NWA North American Title; prior to the contest, Cornette came to the ring with Howard Brodie and Dennis Corraluzzo, the president and vice president of the NWA respectively; after the bout, Steve Austin ran to the ring and hit the Stunner on Jarrett before mocking Jarrett’s strut

1/26/98 – featured footage from the previous week’s confrontation between Steve Austin and Mike Tyson; included a backstage segment in which Jim Ross asked Cactus Jack & Terry Funk about their match earlier in the show, with WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels & Triple H then interrupting; moments later, Michaels, Triple H, WWF Tag Team Champions Billy Gunn & the Road Dogg attacked Cactus & Funk; featured an interview with Don King from Ft. Lauderdale, FL in which he said he would work with Vince McMahon to come up with a solution for how Tyson can be involved with Austin at WrestleMania XIV, since the Nevada State Commission banned Tyson from fighting:

Owen Hart defeated TAFKA Goludust (w/ Luna) (sub. for WWF European Champion Hunter Hearst Helmsley) via submission with the Sharpshooter at around the 7-minute mark after avoiding the Pedigree; Goldust came to the ring dressed as the champion while Luna was dressed as Chyna; after the bout, WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels, Triple H, & Chyna appeared on the Titantron, proud of getting out of the title defense, until Sgt. Slaughter came out and ruled that Hart’s victory over Triple H’s stand-in would constitute the title changing hands; upon the announcement, Triple H began throwing chairs backstage and said he would get payback on Hart (Owen: Hart of Gold)
2/2/98; Indianapolis, IN; Market Square Arena
2/2/98 – included a “State of the Union” address by WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels, Triple H, & Chyna in which they said they would start to follow the network’s rules and detailed which words they could say and which they couldn’t, with the banned words being bleeped out; featured an in-ring segment in which Michaels, Triple H, & Chyna campaigned to have Steve Austin face Mike Tyson at WrestleMania; moments later, Austin came out and confronted Michaels, telling him that it didn’t matter when but he was taking the WWF World Title:
Cactus Jack fought Terry Funk to a no contest when WWF Tag Team Champions the Road Dogg & Billy Gunn attacked both men following a Cactus elbow from the stage onto Funk who was in a dumpster; the Outlaws locked both men inside the dumpster before pushing it off the stage; officials and medical personnel soon swarmed the ringside area
WWF European Champion Owen Hart defeated WWF Tag Team Champion Billy Gunn via disqualification when WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels, Triple H, & Chyna attacked Hart
Marc Mero (w/ Goldust) pinned Headbanger Mosh (w/ Headbanger Thrasher); prior to the bout, Mero was escorted out by Sable, with Mero then telling her that he was sick of her stealing his spotlight and ordered her to the back; Mero then brought out Goldust, dressed as Marilyn Monroe, to be in his corner instead

Henry Godwinn (w/ Phinneas Godwinn) defeated Quebecer Pierre (w/ Jacques Rougeau) at 4:43 via disqualification when Pierre used his own slop bucket to hit Henry with in order to break a pinfall; after the bout, Henry paid Pierre back with a bucket shot of his own
Pantera & Brian Christopher defeated WWF Light Heavyweight Champion Taka Michinoku & Aguila at 10:29 when Pantera pinned Taka with a diving headbutt off the top, after stuffing a pair of brass knuckles in his mask

Dark Match after the show: Ken Shamrock defeated WWF IC Champion the Rock in a non-title match via submission with the ankle lock; the bout was to have been a six man tag pitting Steve Austin, Cactus Jack, & Shamrock against the Rock, Billy Gunn, & the Road Dogg however Terry Funk substituted for Austin; Cactus and Funk chased the the Road Dogg & Billy Gunn backstage before a match began which led to Shamrock challenging the Rock to a singles bout

Kurrgan, Sniper, & Recon (w/ the Jackyl) defeated Chainz, 8-Ball, & Skull at 4:13 when Kurrgan pinned Skull with the Paralyzer head vice
WWF Light Heavyweight Champion Taka Michinoku fought Barry Windham (w/ Jim Cornette & the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express) in a non-title match when Kane interfered, the NWA contingent left ringside, and Kane hit the tombstone on Taka; Taka’s opponent was unannounced prior to the match, the only information given was that it would be a member of Cornette’s NWA team; after the bout, Bearer challenged Steve Austin to face Kane the following week on Raw
Bradshaw pinned TAFKA Goldust with the lariat at 3:12; Goldust came to the ring dressed as his father during Dusty Rhodes’ WWF stint, in full pokadot garb
Steve Blackman pinned WWF IC Champion the Rock (w/ the Nation) in a non-title match after D-Lo Brown tossed Blackman’s nunchucks to Rock, with Blackman intercepting them; after the bout, D-Lo blames the move on Farooq, with the Rock demanding an apology; Farooq gives none and leaves ringside with Kama and D-Lo
The Headbangers defeated NWA Tag Team Champions Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson (w/ Jim Cornette) to win the titles when Thrasher pinned Morton at 7:39 after Cornette hit Thrasher with his tennis racquet, with Thrasher falling on top of Morton for the pinfall; prior to the match, Comissioner Slaughter replaced NWA referee Tommy Young with WWF referee Earl Hebner; during the bout, Thrasher threw Robert Gibson over the top to the floor – which would have caused a disqualification under NWA rules – but Hebner didn’t stop the match
WWF European Champion Owen Hart defeated Marc Mero via disqualification at 3:58 after the challenger shoved the referee; before the bout, Mero ordered Sable backstage; late in the contest she returned ringside; after the bout, Luna Vachon ran ringside to attack Sable – with officials and Mero / Goldust holding the two women apart

Aguila (w/ WWF Light Heavyweight Champion Taka Michinoku) defeated Brian Christopher (w/ Jerry Lawler) via disqualification when Lawler pushed Aguila off the top rope; after the match, Christopher continued to attack his opponent until Michinoku dropkicked him to the floor – on top of Lawler
Cactus Jack & Terry Funk defeated the Quebecers when Cactus pinned Pierre with a DDT; after the match, the Road Dogg came out with his arm in a sling and challenged Cactus to follow him backstage; when Cactus left the ring, Billy Gunn came out of the crowd and hit Funk over the head with a steel chair before both Outlaws returned backstage
Marc Mero defeated TAFKA Goldust via disqualification when the referee was knocked down; during the match, Sable and Luna were handcuffed to seperate ringposts until Goldust unlocked Luna, as the referee was down, who then assaulted Sable; after the match, Sable chased Luna backstage after she herself was unlocked
Triple H fought Savio Vega to a no contest when Steve Austin came ringside and hit the Stunner on an official, a referee, and Savio; moments later, as Austin had Triple H cornered in the ring, Shawn Michaels came ringside and hit the superkick on Austin and was going to hit him with a steel chair before officials intervened; once Austin had regained his senses, he followed DX and Los Boricuas backstage with the chair

3/30/98 – featured an opening segment in which Vince McMahon carried the WWF World Title to the ring and introduced Steve Austin as the new champion, with Austin then appearing; McMahon then told Austin they could do things the easy way or the hard way about him being the champion and fitting into the corporate world, with Austin dropping McMahon with the Stunner; McMahon later had Austin arrested; included an in-ring promo by WWF European Champion Triple H, alongside Chyna, in which he said Shawn Michaels dropped the ball at WrestleMania, said “Syxx was DX’s lucky number,” and then brought out Sean Waltman; Waltman then insulted Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff (Waltman’s surprise return after a 2-year absence); featured the first vignette promoting the debut of Val Venis, as he was shown on a couch watching porn; included an in-ring promo from Paul Bearer, alongside kane, in which Bearer challenged the Undertaker to face Kane at Unforgiven in an Inferno Match:

Bob Holly & Bart Gunn defeated NWA Tag Team Champions the Headbangers to win the titles when Bob Holly scored the pin with a frog splash
The Road Dogg & Billy Gunn defeated Cactus Jack & Terry Funk in a steel cage match to win the vacant WWF Tag Team Titles at around the 4:30 mark when Road Dogg pinned Cactus following a spike piledriver onto a steel chair; prior to the bout, footage was shown of Funk being tended to backstage earlier in the day after sustaining a bruised hip the previous night at WrestleMania; Road Dogg wore a “JOB Squad: Pin Me, Pay Me” T-shirt for the match; the match could only be won via pinfall or submission; late in the bout, Triple H, Chyna, and X-Pac came out, with Chyna distracting the referee as X-Pac climbed the cage and repeatedly hit Cactus with a steel chair; after the match, Triple H, X-Pac, Road Dogg, Gunn, and Chyna continued to assault Cactus as Funk remained tied to the cage; moments later, Road Dogg & Gunn began doing the DX crotch chop, implying they had joined the group

Owen Hart defeated WWF IC Champion the Rock via disqualification at 5:47 when Chyna interfered as Hart had the Rock caught in the Sharpshooter and hit the challenger over the back with a baseball bat; Kama, Mark Henry, & D-Lo Brown escroted the champion to the ring before the match and were initially in his corner until they were ejected at around the 2:30 mark after the referee caught Kama attempting to interfere; after the bout, WWF European Champion Triple H, X-Pac, and WWF Tag Team Champions the Road Dogg & Billy Gunn appeared on the entranceway, with Chyna then walking up the aisle and past them to go backstage (The Rock: The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment)
