The 1-2-3 Kid & Marty Jannetty defeated WWF Tag Team Champions the Quebecers (w/ Johnny Polo) to win the titles at 18:18 when the Kid hit a crossbody as one of the champions was in mid air during a Jannetty suplex; after the bout, Randy Savage left the commentary table to present the champions with the belts before the Kid and Jannetty left through the crowd; later in the contest, the Quebecers and Polo had an interview backstage in which a rematch at Madison Square Garden for the next week was mentioned
Ludvig Borga defeated Brad Anderson at 2:30 via submission with the Torture Rack; during the bout, Lex Luger called in regarding finally being allowed into the Royal Rumble match and congratulated the new tag team champions

Owen Hart (w/ Bret Hart) defeated Terry Austin via submission with the Sharpshooter; after the bout, Vince McMahon interviewed the Harts at ringside, with Owen saying he hoped the Quebecers won the rematch at MSG so that the Harts still would receive a tag team title shot at the Royal Rumble; Bret hoped the titles stayed with Jannetty & the Kid, saying that he and Owen would surely get a title shot down the line
