1/2/09 – featured an opening in-ring announcement by Vickie Guerrero in which she announced WWE World Champion Jeff Hardy would defend against Edge at the Royal Rumble and that the Smackdown! stars who will be taking part in the Rumble match will be announced later in the show; moments later, Triple H appeared and argued she should go ahead and announce who would be in the Rumble match and that he should be in the match to guarantee a Smackdown! performer won; Triple H then said if a Smackdown! performer didn’t win then Vickie would be seen as a weak GM, then pulled out her action figure to show how realistic it was; Vickie then told Triple H he was in the Rumble, with Triple H taking off the action figure’s shirt and said it was hot; Triple H then said he went playing on the Internet earlier in the show and found nude photos of her on eBay; she eventually ran backstage after Triple H said the auction ended in 5 minutes and that he keeps getting outbid by someone named chavog2009; included a vignette promoting the return of Umaga; featured Eve conducting a backstage interview with Michelle McCool regarding her losing the WWE Divas Champion the previous week to Maryse and then attacking guest referee Maria after the bout, with Michelle claiming Maria cost her the title; included a backstage segment with Edge, Big Show, and Vickie in which they discussed Vickie’s photos on eBay; after Vickie left, Show and Edge traded words; featured a “Did you know?” graphic which read WWE is watched by more than 15 million people every week in the US; included a look at the props used in “Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia;” included an in-ring segment in which Jim Ross announced that Triple H, the Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov, and WWE US Champion Shelton Benjamin would help make up the Smackdown! contingent at the Rumble; moments later, Benjamin interrupted and corrected Ross’ announcement by saying he should have named him the odds-on winner; Ross then left the ring as Benjamin cut a promo on having held the belt 6 months and that he would leave WrestleMania as WWE World Champion; Benjamin then said Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Finlay, or R Truth couldn’t compare to him; moments later, the voice of the Undertaker was heard saying “I think you forgot someone;” the lights then went out and when they came back on Taker was in the ring; Taker then hit the chokeslam on Benjamin; featured a vignette promoting the debut of Kizarny later in the show; included an in-ring promo by McCool in which she said Eve was right and Maria deserved an apology; McCool then asked Maria, who was not in the building, to accept her apology; she then asked Eve to come out so she could apologize to her in person; Eve then appeared and accepted McCool’s apology; after the two hugged, Eve went to go backstage but was jumped from behind by McCool; McCool then assaulted Eve around ringside, ending by throwing her into the ringpost, until referees came out to stop it; featured a backstage segment with Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Vickie in which Triple H appeared, with Vickie saying Triple H would compete the following week in a tables match, handicap match, and last man standing match; included the announcement that WWE Smackdown! The Great Khali (w/ Runjin Singh) & Finlay (w/ Hornswoggle) defeated Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder at 4:04 when Khali pinned Ryder with one foot on his chest after hitting the tree slam on Ryder and the chop to the head on Hawkins; after the bout, Finlay & Hornswoggle attacked the opponents with Finlay dropping Hawkins with the Celtic Cross and Hornswoggle following with the frog splash
The Brian Kendrick & Ezikial Jackson defeated Jesse & Festus at 4:43 when Jackson pinned Jesse with a uranagi after making the blind tag
Vladimir Kozlov pinned Hurricane Helms at 4:02 following the headbutt to the chest and uranagi
Kizarny pinned MVP at 6:27 with a double arm DDT into a float over; prior to the bout, a degected MVP, without his trademark necklaces, asked his opponent to come on in so he could get it over with already; MVP was cheered during the bout and Kizarny booed; after the match, Ken Kennedy came out, told MVP not to let the loss get to him, and then plugged his new movie, “Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia” (Kizarny’s TV debut)
WWE World Champion Jeff Hardy & ECW World Champion Matt Hardy defeated Edge & the Big Show at 14:23 when Jeff pinned Edge following the Twist of Fate / Swanton combo; prior to the bout, Edge cut a promo on everything the fans blame him for, then adding they could blame him once Jeff loses his title; late in the bout, Show walked out of the match

1/9/09 – featured the announcement that WWE World Champion Jeff Hardy and his fiancee Beth had been involved in a car accident overnight near Jeff’s home of Cameron, NC; the Beth featured in the segment was not Hardy’s fiancee; included police dashcam footage from the scene in which Hardy said the wreck was caused by someone speeding behind him; featured Taz conducting a backstage interview taped earlier in the day with Edge regarding Jeff’s wreck, during which Edge said he felt bad for Jeff and that he wished he and his fiancee the best; included a look at the action scenes in “Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia;” featured a vignette showing Vladimir Kozlov in training; included Ken Kennedy as a guest of the VIP Lounge in which Kennedy plugged his movie before telling MVP that both he and the fans have had enough of MVP’s losing streak; moments later, a production crew came out to repossess MVP’s set; Kennedy then told MVP that things could always be worse; after Kennedy left ringside, the Boogeyman appeared and hit the pumphandle slam on MVP; featured a “Did you know?” graphic which read WWE programs can be seen in 465 million homes worldwide, more than the NBA, MLB, and NFL combined; included cell phone footage from the scene of the wreck capturing the moments Hardy was speaking with the police officer; featured comments from Hardy, via satellite, in which he said he was on his way back from a party attended by ECW World Champion Matt Hardy, R Truth, and Hurricane Helms when he was ran off the road:
Triple H defeated WWE Raw Tag Team Champion John Morrison (w/ WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Mike Mizanin) in a tables match after throwing Morrison off the top and through a table on the floor; after the contest, Triple H knocked Mizanin off the apron but was attacked from behind by Chavo Guerrero Jr., who threw Triple H through a table in the ring; following the commercial break, Vickie Guerrero confronted Triple H backstage to remind him of the other matches he had scheduled that night
The Undertaker pinned WWE US Champion Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match at 12:35 with the tombstone after catching Benjamin attempting to jump over Taker in the corner
Brie & Nikki Bella defeated Michelle McCool & Victoria at 3:24 when Victoria was pinned with an Oklahoma side roll after missing a moonsault; after the match, Michelle attacked Victoria and laid her out for losing the contest
Triple H defeated Chavo Guerrero Jr. & WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Mike Mizanin in a handicap match at 4:18 by pinning Mizanin with the Pedigree, moments after Guerrero refused to be tagged into the match; after the contest, Vickie Guerrero appeared on the big screen and announced Triple H would face the Big Show later in the night in the last man standing match
WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo Colon defeated The Brian Kendrick & Ezikial Jackson at 6:07 when Carlito pinned Kendrick with the Back Stabber
The Big Show defeated Triple H in a last man standing match at 16:25 following a right hand punch after hitting a chokeslam onto one of the commentary tables; after the match, Vickie Guerrero appeared and joined Show on stage as they watched Triple H lying on the table

Michelle McCool & Natalya Neidhart defeated Brie & Nikki Bella via disqualification at the 53-second mark when Maria attacked Michelle, with the two fighting out to the floor; moments later, Maria fought off Natalya before she was thrown into the barrier and kicked by McCool; WWE Divas Champion Maryse provided guest commentary for the match

Money in the Bank Qualifying Match: WWE US Champion Shelton Benjamin defeated Jeff Hardy via disqualification in a non-title match at 9:25 when Matt Hardy came out, climbed into the ring, stared at Jeff, and then punched Benjamin; after the match, Matt slowly turned away from Jeff and left the ring
WWE World Champion Triple H fought Umaga to a no contest in a non-title match at around the 3-minute mark when Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase Jr., and Cody Rhodes came through the crowd, surrounded the ring, and then jumped Triple H after Umaga was knocked to the floor and referee Mike Chioda left the ring; after the match, Triple H brawled with all three members of Legacy in and around the ring until they eventually ganged up on him and took turns beating the champion to the mat; Orton eventually ordered Dibiase & Rhodes to the floor before then standing over Triple H’s body; Orton then went to leave the ring as Triple H tried to crawl after him
