– 9/28/86: A 10-team tournament was held to determine the first champions. Prior to the finals, Ivan Koloff & Krusher Kruschev defeated Tim Horner & Nelson Royaland NWA TV Champion Dusty Rhodes & Magnum TA while Dutch Mantell & Bobby Jaggers defeated Bill Dundee & Buddy Landell and Tully Blanchard and Jimmy Garvin.

– NWA US Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals: Ivan Koloff & Krusher Kruschev defeated Dutch Mantell & Bobby Jaggers to win the titles when Koloff pinned Mantell after Krushev struck Mantell in the back with his Russian chain; late in the contest, NWA US Champion Nikita Koloff appeared ringside to support Ivan & Krushev and provide the chain

– Ivan Koloff & Dick Murdoch (w/ Vladimir Pietrov) defeated NWA US Tag Team Champions Ron Garvin & Barry Windham to win the titles at 22:52 when Koloff pinned Garvin after Jim Cornette and Bobby Eaton appeared ringside, with Eaton hitting Garvin with Cornette’s tennis racquet behind the referee’s back

– Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated Barry Windham & Ron Garvin at 26:54 when Eaton pinned Garvin when, as Windham had Cornette in a sleeper on the floor and referee Teddy Long had been knocked to the floor moments earlier, Lane hit Garvin with a chair; moments after the finish, Windham hit a clothesline on Lane and made the cover, not realizing the match was over

– Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers defeated NWA US Tag Team Champions Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane (w/ Jim Cornette) to win the titles at around the 30-minute mark when Fulton pinned Eaton with a roll up following a missile dropkick from Rogers; late in the match, referee Randy Anderson went to stop the match as a result of Fulton bleeding from the head until Rogers convinced him to do otherwise; Jim Ross was the ring announcer for the bout; Tony Schiavone & David Crockett provided commentary for the match
Great American Bash 88 – 7/10/88; Baltimore, MD; Arena
– Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated NWA US Tag Team Champions Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers to win the titles at 16:23 when Eaton pinned Fulton after hitting him in the face with a chain after referee Tommy Young was knocked down; pre-match stipulations stated the champions would get to whip Cornette, Eaton & Lane 10 times if they won; Cornette was hung above the ring in a shark cage and wore a straight jacket for the duration of the bout; after the match, Fulton assaulted Eaton with the chain before he and Rogers chased Cornette into the ring and lashed him 10 times
– 9/10/88: Eaton & Lane vacated the titles after winning the NWA Tag Team Titles from Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard in Philadelphia.

– Steve Williams & Kevin Sullivan defeated NWA US Tag Team Champions Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers at 15:50 when Williams pinned Fulton to win the titles by dropping Fulton throat-first across the top rope as Fulton attempted a Thesz Press; during the bout, Jason Hervey of “The Wonder Years” was shown sitting in the front row

– Rick Steiner & Eddie Gilbert (w/ Missy Hyatt) defeated NWA US Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan & Steve Williams to win the titles when Gilbert pinned Sullivan with a roll up as Sullivan grabbed for Hyatt on the ring apron
– 5/89: The titles were held up after Rick Steiner sustained a shoulder injury at Wrestle War in Nashville, TN. A tournament was held several months later to fill the vacancy.

Capital Combat – 5/19/90; Washington DC; Armory
– Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane (w/ Jim Cornette) defeated NWA US Tag Team Champions Brian Pillman & Tom Zenk to win the titles at 20:20 when Eaton pinned Zenk with an inside cradle following a kick to the back of the head by Lane; Cornette was locked in a cage at ringside for the duration of the match
8/24/90; East Rutherford, NJ; Meadowlands
– Rick & Scott Steiner defeated NWA US Tag Team Champions Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane to win the titles at 15:41 when Rick pinned Eaton after Eaton sustained a simultaneous Steinerline from both challengers, one behind him and one in front
4/91: The titles were vacated after the Steiners won the WCW Tag Team Titles by defeating Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin. Hayes & Garvin and Tracy Smothers & Steve Armstrong were decided as the top two contenders to fight for the vacant championship. The Steiners held the WCW World, US, and IWGP tag team titles at the same time after winning the IWGP belts March 21 in Tokyo, Japan.

– Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin (w/ Big Daddy Dink) defeated Tracey Smothers & Steve Armstrong at 10:11 when Hayes pinned Smothers after a masked man interfered, after the referee had been knocked down, and dropped both Smothers & Armstrong with DDTs from the middle turnbuckle after both Hayes & Garvin sustained the elevated side elbow off the top double team; stipulations stated the winners would win the vacant WCW US Tag Team Titles; prior to the bout, Hayes & Garvin were escorted to the ring by Diamond Dallas Page

– Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin defeated WCW US Tag Team Champions Terrance Taylor & Greg Valentine at 16:00 to win the titles when Garvin pinned Taylor with the DDT as Hayes hit Valentine with the left hand punch

– The Barbarian & Dick Slater defeated WCW US Tag Team Champions Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin to win the titles at around the 5:30 mark when Slater pinned Hayes after a piledriver and elbow drop after Barbarian kicked both opponents in the face; Ole Anderson was the referee for the match (the last WCW US Tag Team Title match)
