– WCW US Tag Team Champions Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin (w/ Big Daddy Dink) fought Dick Murdoch & Dick Slater to a double count-out in a non-title match at 12:16 when Garvin and Murdoch began fighting on the floor and Dink got involved in the fight as well; prior to the bout, Hayes, Garvin, & Dink were escorted to the ring by Diamond Dallas Page; after the match, the two teams brawled their way backstage

– Arn Anderson & Larry Zbyszko defeated Tracy Smothers & Steve Armstrong at 11:42 when Armstrong had the match stopped as Smothers, who suffered a leg injury earlier in the match, was caught in a half crab by Anderson

– Todd Champion & Firebreaker Chip defeated Richard Morton & Terrance Taylor (w/ Alexandra York) at 9:17 when Champion pinned Taylor with a flying back elbow to the head

– Rick Steiner & Bill Kazmaier defeated the One Man Gang & the Executioner (sub. for Black Blood, who was fired) (w/ Kevin Sullivan) at 6:49 when Kazmaier pinned the Executioner with a fireman’s carry into a powerslam

– Arn Anderson & Larry Zbyzsko defeated Todd Champion & Firebreaker Chip at 9:08 when Anderson pinned Chip with a sunset flip and holding onto the ropes for leverage after Zbyzsko hit Chip in the back of the head behind the referee’s back

Clash of the Champions XVI – 9/5/91; Augusta, GA; Augusta-Richmond Civic Center
– Arn Anderson & Larry Zbyzsko defeated Rick Steiner & Bill Kazmier to win the titles at 5:34 when Zbyzsko pinned Kazmaier when Anderson hit Kazmaier in the ribs as he attempted a gorilla press slam on Zbyzsko; prior to the bout, footage was shown of how each team made it to the finals; Kazmaier’s ribs were heavily taped after he was attacked earlier in the show by Anderson & Zbyzsko; after the commercial break, Jim Ross & Tony Schiavone conducted an interview with the new champions to close the broadcast
