Monday Nitro – 2-hour edition; hosted by Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, & Mike Tenay; included a statement by Arn Anderson, who admitted he blew the call the night before during the Chris Benoit vs. Sid Vicious match for the vacant WCW World Title, that Sid’s foot was underneath the bottom rope as he submitted, and that Benoit’s title victory no longer stood; featured Gene Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Booker T & Midnight on Stevie Ray’s decision to allign with Big T; included new WCW Commissioner Kevin Nash, now employing Ron & Don Harris as bodyguards, being introduced to Tylene Buck (Major Gunns), April Hunter, Shakira, and Midajah as the nWo’s new lady friends; featured Scott Steiner, accompanied by Pamela Paulshock & Midajah, attacking the Ohio State Buckeyes’ mascot, with Steiner then mocking the OSU football team before reciting the Michigan Wolverines’ fight song; moments later, Steiner attacked a “fan” in the front row before daring anyone to come fight him; included the entire WCW roster coming to the ring as Nash gave a speech from the entrance stage, in which he called the roster a bunch of underachievers, awarded Jeff Jarrett the vacant WCW US Title, and claimed rectal exams would be given before every match, everyone would share the same locker room, Nash was to be referred to as “Lord Master,” and he would decide the fate of the WCW World Title at a later date; Sid Vicious was shown watching from the locker room:
Billy Kidman pinned Psychosis at 6:51 after countering a powerbomb into a facebuster, moments after Kidman kicked out of the legdrop off the top
Big T (w/ Stevie Ray) pinned Booker T at 1:39 in an impromptu match after hitting him with a slapjack stored in his fanny pack; prior to the match, Stevie Ray invited Booker to the ring and offered to give him another chance, with Booker decking Big T in response; the two competed in street clothes

Sid Vicious pinned the Wall at 2:53 with a chokeslam; after the bout, on orders from WCW Commissioner Kevin Nash, the trio of Disco Inferno, Big Vito, & Johnny the Bull hit the ring and attacked Vicious, with Johnny & Vito each sustaining Sid’s powerbomb
Lex Luger (w/ Elizabeth) pinned Bam Bam Bigelow at 3:06 after smashing a champagne bottle over Bigelow’s head that the interfering Chris Kanyon & J Biggs brought to the ring

Monday Nitro – featured an opening in-ring segment in which many of the wrestlers, valets, and managers were already positioned; moments later, Scott Steiner, the Wall, Booker T, Vampiro, Billy Kidman, Torrie Wilson, Ernest Miller, Van Hammer, and WCW US Champion Jeff Jarrett then joining them; Jarrett then took the mic and said he was the chosen one, hand-picked to be the next WCW World Champion by the man most responsible for turning the WWF around; Jarrett then said the man he would introduce was once Vince McMahon’s greatest secret, Vince Russo; Russo then walked out to the ring to an instrumental version of “Iron Man” and said his goal was to beat McMahon at his own game and claimed he was taken down by political BS backstage; Russo then said others knew the new direction sucked, causing Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Eddie Guerrero, and Shane Douglas to leave and Steiner to get suspended; Russo then addressed the wrestlers in the ring and told them it was their opportunity to seize the moment; moments later, Eric Bischoff’s voice could be heard asking “Are you done yet?” from backstage; Bischoff then walked out and entered the ring before shaking Russo’s hand and hugging him, drawing applause from a handful of people in the ring; Bischoff then addressed his mistakes in WCW – Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Sting, Diamond Dallas Page, and WCW World Champion Sid Vicious, before noting his biggest mistake was Hulk Hogan; Sting, Vicious, Page, Kimberly, Lex Luger, and Elizabeth were then shown watching on backstage as Bischoff apologized to the “new blood” in the ring and said it was an all new WCW; as Bischoff asked where the established wrestlers were, they appeared at the entrance stage; Bischoff then insulted all of them, mocking Page’s seven fans at the trailer park and Vicious’s softball games; Bischoff then said he reinvented Sting’s career and made Luger a multi-millionare when the WWF didn’t want any more of him; Russo then took target to Ric Flair, calling him a piece of shit on the bottom of his shoe; Russo then said all the titles were stripped and it was a brand new playing field; Jarrett, WCW Tag Team Champions Ron & Don Harris, and WCW Hardcore Champion Brian Knobbs handed over their titles, with Vicious telling Bischoff to come take his title if he wanted it; Bischoff left the ring and confronted Vicious, asking whether he wanted to come after him with scissors – alluding to Sid’s fight with Arn Anderson in 1993 – and said he could ruin Vicious’s career; Vicious eventually handed over the title, with Bischoff saying the new world champion would be determined at Spring Stampede:

Monday Nitro – featured an opening segment in which two white limos arrived to the arena, with WCW Commissioner the Cat coming out of one and WCW World Champion Jeff Jarrett and Mike Awesome coming out of the second; Ice Train was the driver for the Cat’s limo; included an in-ring promo by Horace Hogan – weilding a baseball bat – in which he cut a promo on Bill Goldberg for his attack on Hulk Hogan the previous week and challenged Goldberg to a match; moments later, the Cat interrupted and said he and Goldberg were too busy to deal with Horace and then announced Scott Steiner would be suspended for 30 days if he interfered in any match later in the night; Kevin Nash, WCW US Champion Scott Steiner and Madajah then appeared and forced Cat to grand Horace a match with Goldberg; Steiner then challenged Cat to a match since he couldn’t find “Eric Bitchoff,” with Cat backing off and giving Steiner a title shot against Jeff Jarrett instead; Nash then challenged the Cat to a match with Scott Hall’s contract at stake and then scared the Cat through the crowd; featured Rick Steiner & Tank Abbott attacking Chuck Palumbo & Sean Stasiak outside the production truck; included Jarrett confronting the Cat backstage in which Cat made Mike Awesome the guest referee for the night’s world title match; featured Mike Tenay conducting a backstage interview with Horace about his upcoming match with Goldberg; included GI Bro speaking with the MIA backstage in which he gave them a pep talk to step up and lead WCW in the absence of Hogan, Flair, and DDP and then appointed G. Rection as the new general of MIA; moments later, Kanyon came out dressed as DDP and cut a promo issuing an open challenge until GI Bro came out, sent Kanyon to the floor, and stripped off his camouflage to reveal his Booker T attire underneath; featured David Flair apologizing to Daffney backstage for his recent actions in which she eventually took him back; after the commercial break, David met with Ms. Hancock backstage, thinking Daffney had left the arena but Daffney saw it all on a monitor; included Vampiro conducting an in-ring promo on the Demon in which he said Dale Torborg was getting rid of his “persona;” moments later, Torborg and his fiancee Aysa appeared with the lights flickering out and Aysa disappearing and the lights flickering out and Vampiro then disappearing; Vampiro then appeared on the big screen driving out of the arena in a hearse:
Shane Helms, Shannon Moore, & Evan Karagias defeated Yang, Kaz Hayashi, & Jamie-san at around 3:53 when Karagias pinned Jamie-san following a wheelbarrow slam triple-team; prior to the bout, 3 Count cut an in-ring promo in which they said they would debut their next single Wednesday called “Come Dance with 3 Count;” after the bout, Lance Storm laid out all three members of 3 Count before escaping through the crowd (Storm’s surpise debut)
WCW Hardcore Champion Big Vito pinned Johnny the Bull at 4:14 with a jumping DDT through a table set up backstage; moments after the match, Terry Funk helped Johnny to his lockerroom and said he would help train him
Bill Goldberg pinned Horace Hogan at 2:36 with the spear and Jackhammer
Kevin Nash pinned the Cat with the powerbomb at 2:37; the bout was for Scott Hall’s contract, which was locked in a briefcase and handcuffed to Mark Madden at the commentary table; after the bout, Nash opened the briefcase to reveal the contract wasn’t there but 8x10s of the Cat were; as Nash confronted the Cat in the ring, Bill Goldberg appeared on the big screen and said he had Hall’s contract and if Nash wanted it he could face him at Bash at the Beach; Goldberg then ate the contract as Nash went backstage to find him; after the commercial break, Tenay interviewed Nash backstage in which Nash said BATB was on his birthday, Hall lived 40 minutes from Daytona Beach, and they would have a big party after he beat Goldberg again
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero Jr. (w/ Gen. Rection, Lash Laroux, Hammer, & Major Gunns) defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. (w/ Disco Inferno, Konnan, Juventud Guerrera, & Tigress) and TAFKA Prince Iaukea (w/ Paisley) at 2:24 by pinning Iaukea with the tornado DDT; Guerrera did guest commentary for the bout; after the match, Major Gunns, Paisley, and Tigress had to be held apart
WCW Tag Team Champions Chuck Palumbo & Sean Stasiak defeated Rick Steiner & Tank Abbott at 4:41 when Palumbo pinned Steiner following a double flapjack after hitting him with the Lex Flexer behind referee Charles Robinson; Abbott left ringside mid-way through the match when he chased a ringside fan through the crowd
Buff Bagwell & Kronik defeated Shane Douglas, Bam Bam Bigelow, & Chris Candido (his arm in a sling) at 6:20 when Bagwell pinned Bigelow with the Buff Blockbuster; prior to the bout, Douglas cut a promo saying Bigelow & Candido were targetting the WCW Tag Team Titles and Bagwell would learn first-hand what it means to be franchised at Bash at the Beach; Candido was never tagged into the match and was chased backstage late in the contest by Kronik; after the match, Douglas attacked Bagwell and dropped him with the Pittsburgh Plunge until Kronik ran back out, scaring him out of the ring
WCW World Champion Jeff Jarrett pinned WCW US Champion Scott Steiner (w/ Madajah) at 9:11 after breaking his guitar over Steiner’s head as the challenger had guest referee Mike Awesome caught in the Steiner Recliner; after the match, Steiner put the Cat in the Steiner Recliner until Awesome and Jarrett returned to the ring; Steiner laid out both until he was speared by Bill Goldberg; moments later, Kevin Nash came out, scaring Goldberg to the floor as the show came to a close
