Monday Nitro – featured an in-ring promo by Bret Hart in which led the crowd in a rendition of “Oh Canada” before noting he couldn’t get a match against the likes of WCW World Champion Ric Flair or Hulk Hogan; Hart then turned his attention to Bill Goldberg and called him out, saying he was putting up a lot of money to face Steve Austin while Hart had beaten Austin in all their matches; Hart took off his shirt, revealing a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey underneath; moments later, Goldberg joined Hart in the ring and took him down with a spear, with both men then being knocked out; Hart eventually came to his senses, crawled on top of Goldberg, and counted to 3 before taking off his jersey to reveal a steel plate underneath; Hart then took the mic and said “Hey Bischoff, and the WCW, I quit”:

Kevin Nash pinned Ric Flair (w/ Arn Anderson) at 10:16 with one foot on his chest following the powerbomb; prior to the bout, Nash cut an in-ring promo saying he would get revenge on WCW World Champion Diamond Dallas Page for putting Hulk Hogan on the shelf; he then said that if Bill Golberg was to take the title from DDP later in the show, then he would see him at Slamboree; late in the bout, referee Charles Robinson refused to count Flair down after he sustained the powerbomb, with Gorgeous George and Randy Savage then appearing ringside, George jumping Robinson, putting on his referee’s shirt, and making the count; after the bout, several medics came out, clumsily pulled Flair out of the ring, and took him backstage on a stretcher; Roddy Piper came out with them and badmouthed Flair as Flair was taken backstage and into a waiting van; Anderson protested the lack of medical equipment in the van before it was releaved Flair was being taken to the Central Florida Medical Hospital

Monday Nitro – featured Mike Tenay conducting a backstage interview with Curt Hennig regarding his match later in the night against Bill Goldberg, with the stipulations being if he loses via pinfall then he’s out of WCW and if he wins then he gets a new contract; included a backstage segment with Kimberly and Terry Taylor in which Kimberly went looking for the Powers that Be; featured backstage footage of Kevin Nash & Scott Hall, with Nash wearing a mask to look like Sid Vicious; included Tenay conducting a backstage interview with Spice of the Nitro Girls, seconded by two other Nitro Girls, earlier in the day regarding her scheduled match later in the show against AC Jazz and the fact Jazz wasn’t in the arena and had left the group; moments later, Fyre and Tygress attacked the three; featured an in-ring promo by Hall & Nash, with Nash doing an impression of Vicious until Vicious appeared at the entranceway to respond; during the segment, Vicious accidentally said he had half the brain Nash did, with the commentary team subtly laughing; included Tenay conducting a backstage interview with Booker T regarding his handicap match later in the show against Creative Control, during which he named the mystery woman as Midnight; featured Kimberly going into the backstage office of the Powers that Be in which she was told she would be wrestling if she didn’t want to be a Nitro Girl anymore and she would have a tune up match against Asya with a guest referee before her match at Mayhem against David Flair; after the Powers that Be sent Kimberly and Creative Control out, Nash appeared in the office; included a backstage segment where Jerry Flynn, the Barbarian, Brian Knobbs, and Jimmy Hart were shown arguing over Hart’s loss earlier in the show; featured footage of Goldberg arriving to the arena; included an ad for WCW Mayhem: The Music, in stores the following day; featured a backstage segment where the Powers that Be spoke with El Dandy, Silver King, Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis, and a Villano, with Juventud Guerrera ventually showing up with a pinata and the Powers that Be saying they would have a pinata match later in the show with $10,000 in the pinata; included a backstage segment with Steve Williams and a man appearing to be Jim Ross arriving to the arena; featured a backstage segment where Creative Control were looking for Torrie; included Tenay conducting a backstage interview with Goldberg regarding his match later in the show against Hennig, during which he said it wasn’t personal but he was going through Hennig; featured Tenay conducting a backstage interview with Nash regarding his retirement being waived and his match later in the show against Vicious, with Nash responding to comments made earlier in the show by Tony Schiavone in which Schiavone said Nash’s retirement was a lame angle:
Norman Smiley pinned Jimmy Hart in a hardcore match at 4:47 after Hart fell through a table at ringside when Norman moved out of the way; Hart was dressed in a suit of armor for the match and brought with him a Dumpster of weapons; after the match, Brian Knobbs – who appeared ringside mid-way through the match and interfered on behalf of Hart – attacked Smiley in the ring
Creative Control defated Booker T in a handicap match at 2:57 when Booker was pinned following the H-Bomb; prior to the bout, Chavo Guerrero Jr. tried to sell Booker hair products backstage as Booker made his way out; during the match, it was announced Kevin Nash’s retirement had been lifted by the Powers that Be and he would face Sid Vicious later in the show in a streetfight; after the match, the lights went out and a gong was heard; when they came back on, Midnight was in the ring and made the save clearing Creative Control from ringside; after the commercial break, the Powers that Be verbally berated Creative Control backstage, reminding them that he saved their careers and they were once known as Jacob & Eli Blu and DOA, and ordered them to bring him Torrie Wilson and the luchadores
Evan Karagias (w/ Madusa) pinned referee Johnny Boone at 2:49 after Madusa – who did guest commentary for the match – climbed in the ring, put Boone’s head in her cleavage, causing him to go limp, and pulled his shirt over this head
Silver King, Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis, El Dandy, and a Villano fought to a no contest in a pinata match at 4:20 when Steve Williams laid out all the participants; early in the bout, Williams and a man appearing to be Jim Ross joined the commentary team, with the JR impersonator saying Juvi was once an offensive lineman at Tijuana State University; stipulations for the bout stated the winner would be the one to grab the pinata hung above the ring and get the $10,000 check inside; the pinata fell down 30 seconds into the match and the wrestlers spent the remainder of the match grabbing it, then climbing to the top rope to where it was hung; after the bout, Silver King grabbed the check as Williams assaulted the other wrestlers but was then assaulted himself and Williams took the check
Bill Goldberg defeated Curt Hennig via submission with a leglock at 2:36; prior to the match, Hennig jumped Goldberg as he made his way out to the ring, with the two fighting down the hallway and through the backstage area for several minutes before eventually appearing ringside; pre-match stipulations stated Hennig would have to retire if he was pinned but would receive a new contract if he won; Hennig quickly submitted so he wouldn’t be pinned; after the match, Hennig punched out the referee but sustained the spear and Jackhammer
Berlyn & the Wall defeated Vampiro & the Misfits in a handicap match
WCW TV Champion Rick Steiner fought Sid Vicious to a no contest
Jerry Flynn defeated the Barbarian
