WCW @ Monroe, LA – Civic Center – January 6, 1997
Monday Nitro – featured Gene Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Kevin Sullivan regarding his feud with Chris Benoit, with Sullivan walking off after Okerlund said he had video comments from someone on the matter other than Benoit and Woman; included Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Steve McMichael, and Debra with Debra running down Benoit and Woman for not appearing; moments later, Jeff Jarrett appeared and questioned whether Flair wanted him in the group, with Anderson attacking Jarrett after Jarrett referred to him as “the horse’s rear;” Anderson then assaulted Jarrett into the ring, with the other Horsemen surrounding the ring, until Jarrett hit a neckbreaker on Anderson and put his feet on the ropes for leverage while Randy Anderson made a pinfall; moments later, Debra got between the Horsemen and Jarrett, with McMichael shoving Flair away when Flair put his hands on Debra; Flair eventually said Jarrett was okay with him if he was okay with McMichael, with Anderson then storming off; Benoit was advertised earlier in the show to face Jarrett but the match didn’t take place; featured the announcement that Rey Mysterio Jr., Psychosis, WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal, Diamond Dallas Page, Jacques Rougeau & Carl Oulette would be part of WCW Saturday Night; included a pre-taped promo by Lex Luger regarding his upcoming match against Meng; featured footage from the previous week of Roddy Piper being taken from ringside on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance backstage, during which Piper was heard screaming in another language; included footage of Sting’s appearance during the Luger vs. Giant match at Starrcade and the finish of the match; featured a closing with the nWo – WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash, Big Bubba, nWo Sting, Syxx, Buff Bagwell, Nick Patrick, Vincent, Michael Wallstreet, and Scott Norton – in which Hogan and Bischoff cut an in-ring promo on Hogan allegedly beating Piper at Starrcade and then beating down Piper and the Giant the previous week; moments later, the Giant appeared, took out all the nWo wrestlers and press slammed Patrick to the floor; the Giant then went after Hogan and then Bischoff until Hogan attacked Giant from behind with a steel chair, with the other nWo wrestlers holding the Giant as Hogan landed several shots with the weapon; eventually, Bischoff landed a kick to the Giant before the nWo left ringside; Hogan, Bischoff, and Nash then took the commentary headsets as Sting came out, said something to the Giant, and then used his baseball bat to point to the nWo; after Sting left ringside, Vincent was told to get the bat in the ring and land a few shots in on him; the Giant then came to, hit the chokeslam on Vincent, and fended off the nWo with the ball bat to close the broadcast:

Konnan (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Big Bubba in a Mexican strap match at 5:52 when Bubba knocked Konnan into the fourth and final corner with an uppercut; prior to the bout, footage was shown of Konnan and Bubba’s altercations over the previous three weeks; it was announced prior to the match that the Giant would face WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan at Souled Out; after the contest, Bubba attacked Konnan and dropped him with the sidewalk slam
WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal fought Jim Duggan (sub. for Diamond Dallas Page) to a time-limit draw at 8:27 after Duggan knocked the champion out with a taped fist punch; during the bout, Eric Bischoff, Syxx, and WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash came out to the commentary table, with Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyzsko giving them their headsets and leaving; moments later, Bischoff implied Page had joined the nWo and was meeting with WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall; Bischoff then gave information on how women can enter the Miss nWo Contest, said he had signed the ideal candidate for the nWo and would release that information soon, and told Randy Savage to stop calling him; after the contest, Duggan waved a WCW flag inside the ring (Regal’s first appearance with new theme music)
Hugh Morrus pinned Jim Powers (w/ Teddy Long) with the moonsault at 1:40 after catching Powers in mid-air and hitting a powerslam; prior to the bout, Schiavone & Zbyzsko returned to the broadcast booth
Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned Psychosis with the springboard hurricanrana at 6:43; during the bout, it was announced Jushin Liger defeated J-Cup Champion the Ultimo Dragon the previous week at the Tokyo Dome but Dragon was still the WCW Cruiserweight Champion; it was also announced Dragon would defend the Cruiserweight Title at the Clash of the Champions against Liger and that Rick & Scott Steiner would face WCW Tag Team Champions Kevin Nash & Scott Hall at Souled Out
Kevin Sullivan (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. at 2:17 with the Tree of Woe and double stomp; during the match, it was announced Sullivan would face Chris Benoit in a falls count anywhere match at the Clash of the Champions
WCW US Champion Eddie Guerrero pinned Alex Wright at 9:05 with a superplex and the frog splash; prior to the bout, footage was shown of Guerrero being attacked at Starrcade by Syxx; during the contest, it was announced Guerrero would face Syxx in a ladder match at Souled Out and that Chris Jericho would face Masahiro Chono; late in the match, Syxx appeared in the aisle, climbed a ladder, and showed off the stolen US title belt around his waist, distracting Guerrero; immediately after the contest, Guerrero chased Syxx backstage
Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) defeated Jacques Rougeau & Carl Ouelette (w/ Col. Rob Parker) at 4:06 when Booker pinned Rougeau with the Heat Bomb after Oulette accidentally hit Rougeau with the flagpole behind the referee’s back
Lex Luger defeated Meng at 4:51 when a dazed referee Mark Curtis called for the bell after Luger put an interfering Barbarian in the Torture Rack

Monday Nitro – featured an opening backstage segment in which the Giant stormed into the nWo dressing room, in an attempt to get at WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, until he was forced out of the room by police and nWo members; during the segment, the Giant yelled “Coward” at Hogan after learning Hogan wasn’t going to face him as scheduled at Souled Out; included the announcement that Arn Anderson would face the Barbarian, Lex Luger would face Scott Norton, and WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal would be in action on WCW Saturday night; featured the announcement that the WCW Executive Committee, in town for the NAPTE Convention, would make a ruling on the claim Hogan would not face the Giant at Souled Out; moments later, Eric Bischoff, Ted Dibiase, and Vincent came out, with Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyzsko leaving the broadcast booth while the nWo members took their seats; during the incident, Zbyzsko told Bischoff that if he kept making bad decisions then he would be mowing Verne Gagne’s lawn again; included a vignette on Sting attacking Jeff Jarrett and Rick Steiner after both spoke badly about him; featured an nWo vignette in which WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash cut a promo on facing Rick & Scott Steiner at Souled Out; Aaron Neville was shown in attendance:
Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Mr. JL at 4:17 with a moonsault onto a standing JL
Jim Duggan fought Super Calo to a no contest when Sting attacked Duggan before Calo’s entrance and dropped him with the Scorpion Death Drop; prior to the contest, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview in the aisle with Duggan in which he discussed his standing up against the nWo and called out Sting for not siding with either WCW or the nWo
Chris Jericho pinned Sgt. Craig Pittman with a missile dropkick at 1:07; the match was said to be a stand-by match, subbing for Duggan vs. Calo
Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) defeated High Voltage at 4:06 when Booker T pinned Kenny Kaos following the Heat Seeker; during the bout, the Giant was shown again barging into the nWo dressing room, claiming Hogan gave him his word he would defend the title at Souled Out; moments later, after security again pulled the Giant out of the room, Hogan and Eric Bischoff made fun of the Giant for thinking he had a match without first having a contract
Diamond Dallas Page pinned Mark Starr with the Diamond Cutter at the 54-second mark; Eric Bischoff & Ted Dibiase did guest commentary for the match, with both claiming DDP was now a part of the nWo; after the contest, WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash came out and handed Page an nWo t-shirt; after putting on the shirt, Page dropped Hall with the Diamond Cutter and caused Nash to fall over the top to the floor before then celebrating in the crowd (The Very Best of Nitro)
Dean Malenko pinned WCW US Champion Eddie Guerrero in a non-title match at around the 12:15 mark with a powerbomb as Guerrero stood on the middle turnbuckle, distracted by Syxx who appeared on a ladder in the crowd mid-way through the match; prior to the bout, Schiavone & Zbyzsko returned to the commentary table; during the ring entrances, Schiavone announced the WCW Executive Committee was on their way to the arena, from the NAPTE Convention, to make a ruling in the Hogan vs. Giant match; during the contest, Schiavone said what Roddy Piper said following the attack by the nWo weeks earlier was Gaelic; moments later, it was announced the committee had ruled not only would Hogan face the Giant at Souled Out but the two would also wrestle later in the show; the finish was not show due to a technical glitch in the final seconds of the bout
Konnan (w/ Jimmy Hart) (sub. for Jim Duggan) pinned Super Calo at 2:59 with the cradle DDT; during the bout, it was announced a 6-man lucha libre match would take place at the Clash of the Champions
Jeff Jarrett pinned Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) at 3:33 when Steve McMichael accidentally hit Benoit in the back with the haliburton during a struggle over the weapon with Debra; prior to the bout, Kevin Sullivan cut a promo in front of a chess set in which he said he was going to take “the (chess) board” back the following week in Chicago, then slapped the chess pieces off the boat; during the match, it was announced the match later in the show between the Giant and Hogan would be a non-title match because you have to give the champion 48 hours notice before a title match; mid-way through the contest, McMichael, Debra, and Arn Anderson appeared ringside; after the contest, Michael and Anderson were upset over the loss while Debra was happy; moments later, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview in the aisle with Benoit, Woman, Anderson, McMichael, and Debra in which Benoit claimed McMichael “fumbled the ball” and then said he didn’t care if Debra badmouthed him or the Horsemen but badmouthing Woman would get her in trouble; McMichael then apologized for his actions, with Benoit then asking Anderson where Ric Flair was; Anderson then said Flair wanted them to work it out on their own, with Benoit telling McMichael to shape up; moments later, Anderson stepped between Benoit and McMichael before McMichael and Debra went backstage; Benoit and Woman then left after Benoit said he had pulled his weight and expected the rest of the group to do the same
Scotty Riggs pinned Billy Kidman with a fishermans suplex at 2:16 after avoiding Kidman’s Shooting Star Press, moments after Marcus Alexander Bagwell appeared at the entranceway to watch the contest; during the match, it was announced Riggs would face Bagwell at Souled Out
Lex Luger defeated Rick Fuller via submission with the Torture Rack at 2:57; after the bout, the Giant appeared in the entranceway, with he and Luger circling one another before Luger went backstage and the Giant went out to the ring; moments later, Okerlund conducted an in-ring interview with the Giant regarding his match later in the show against Hogan
Rick Steiner (w/ Scott Steiner) defeated Arn Anderson via count-out at 2:59 when Anderson walked backstage after he couldn’t get any members of the Horsemen to come out and help him; during the bout, it was announced TNT would air the remainder of the Hogan vs. Giant match during the commercial breaks of “The New Adventures of Robin Hood” immediately after Nitro goes off the air; Anderson motioned to the dressing room for the other Horsemen to come out with the commentary team saying there was a shouting match backstage involving the Horsemen; after the bout, Okerlund conducted an in-ring interview with the Steiners regarding their title shot against Hall & Nash at Souled Out (Scott’s first appearance after a 5-month absence)
The Giant defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Ted Dibiase) via disqualification in a non-title match when the nWo interfered as the Giant set Hogan up for the chokeslam, with the Giant easily clearing the ring; only the opening minute aired during Nitro, with the remainder of the match being shown, on tape delay, during the first two commercial breaks of the premiere episode of “The New Adventures of Robin Hood”
WCW @ Chicago, IL – United Center – January 20, 1997 (17,000; announced at 19,000+; announced as a sell out)
Monday Nitro – featured Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyszko on commentary for the first hour, with Bobby Heenan and Mike Tenay filling in for Zbyszko in hour two; Schiavone wore a Chicago Blackhawks jersey for the show; included an opening segment in which Randy Savage jumped out of the crowd, grabbed a steel chair, and took the mic, saying he had been blackballed and wouldn’t leave the ring until he got to talk to someone in power; Savage then said Eric Bischoff could kiss his ass; the commentary team noted that Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. Maxx Muscle was slated as the opening bout; moments later, Chavo came out to the ring, with Savage waving him off and refusing to move from his seat in the ring; after several moments, Savage stood up, punched Chavo, and threw him over the top rope; Maxx Muscle then came out, with Savage again standing up and beating down Maxx in the corner before sitting right back down in his chair; Savage then tossed the referee to the floor before then shoving down Doug Dillinger, punching out Alex Wright, and then taking the chair to stop anyone else from getting in the ring; Rick & Scott Steiner, Jacques Rougeau & Carl Oulette were then shown in the aisle with several referees telling Savage to leave the ring; Sting then came down from the rafters to the commentary position and pointed at Savage with his baseball bat; eventually, Sting held the bat to Savage’s throat, with the two almost coming to blows before Sting handed the bat over to Savage and turned his back to him; Savage tossed the bat back to Sting and the two left the ring together and escaped through the crowd (Savage’s surprise return after a 3-month absence); featured a Lex Luger T-shirt ad with the Public Enemy and Luger; included footage from December of Masahiro Chono revealing he had joined the nWo, Chono arguing with Sonny Onoo and roughing him up, and then facing Chris Jericho later that night; featured a nWo Souled Out T-shirt ad with WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash; included the announcement a six-man tag team match with Arn Anderson, Steve McMichael, & Chris Benoit and Harlem Heat vs. Public Enemy would be part of WCW Saturday Night; featured pre-taped footage of Ric Flair with Chicago Blackhawks Bob Probert, with Probert he had to be in Buffalo but the nWo better watch their backs the next time he’s in Chicago; included a nWo vignette of Bischoff, which aired during WCW Saturday Night, in which he referenced Savage and said the two things he wanted most were Elizabeth and Bischoff’s hair; featured a video package hyping the major matches for nWo Souled Out; included a video package recapping the recent altercations between Diamond Dallas Page and the nWo, leading to DDP clearing the ring of Hall & Nash the previous week; featured an ad promoting the nWo Hotline; included a closing in-ring segment in which WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, Ted Dibiase, and Vincent came out to the ring, with Hogan cutting a promo on facing the Giant at Souled Out, during which Hogan noted he met the Giant for the first time in Chicago at a basketball game; moments later, the Giant stormed out to the ring but was held back by security; he then powered through and stepped into the ring just as the show went off the air:

Scotty Riggs defeated nWo Sting via disqualification at 2:45 when Marcus Bagwell, Scott Norton, Vincent, Michael Wallstreet, Big Bubba, and Nick Patrick ran out after Riggs hit the flying forearm; Bagwell appeared in the aisle late in the match; after the bout, Riggs escaped into the crowd before the nWo crew bullied ring announcer Dave Penzer until Penzer announced nWo Sting as the winner
Arn Anderson & Steve McMichael (w/ Debra McMichael) defeated WCW US Champion Eddie Guerrero & Jeff Jarrett at 3:40 when Debra threw in her sash to stop the match, as Anderson had Jarrett in a Boston Crab; late in the bout, Guerrero chased Syxx backstage after Syxx appeared near the entrance; after the contest, Anderson argued with McMichael about Debra’s interference; moments later, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview with Ric Flair in the aisle, joined by Chris Benoit, Woman, Anderson, McMichael, and Debra, in which Flair said the Horsemen weren’t what they could be because they were too distracted by women and not focused on the ring; Debra went on to state she was a Miss Illinois and what was happening to Jarrett was not something winners do; Benoit then reminded McMichael and Debra they were in wrestling and they needed to focus on that, with McMichael noting they had Jarrett beaten which was more than Beniot had done lately
WCW Cruiserweight Champion the Ultimo Dragon (w/ Sonny Onoo) pinned Dean Malenko at 4:19 with a la magistral cradle; during the bout, it was noted Lex Luger vs. WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall would take place the following night as part of the Clash of the Champions and that Malenko and Dragon would also be part of the broadcast; immediately after the bout, it was noted a rematch would be held at the Clash
WCW TV Champion Lord Steven Regal defeated Jacques Rougeau (w/ Col. Rob Parker) via disqualification at 1:53 when Parker accidentally struck his own man after climbing into the ring; following the ring entrances, Rougeau led the crowd in singing the Canadian National Anthem; after the bout, Regal cleared both men from the ring
Kevin Sullivan (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) at 1:57 after Hart handed Sullivan the timekeeper’s bell behind the referee’s back, with Sullivan then holding it up as Benoit hit the headbutt off the top and Hart then rolled Sullivan on top of Benoit for the cover; prior to the bout, it was noted the two would have a falls count anywhere match the next night on the Clash of the Champions; despite the bout not being falls count anywhere, the fight immediately began in the aisle, went into the crowd, into the men’s room, and then back through the crowd and into the ring before the match officially began
Jim Duggan pinned Carl Oulette (w/ Col. Rob Parker & Jacques Rougeau) at 2:02 by hitting him with a taped fist, moments after Rick & Scott Steiner appeared ringside and fought with both Rougeau and Oulette; prior to the bout, WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff, Syxx – in possession of the WCW US title, Ted Dibiase, Big Bubba, Marcus Bagwell, Michael Wallstreet, Nick Patrick, and Vincent came out to the commentary area, running off Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, & Mike Tenay; Bischoff, Dibiase, & Nash then took over commentary duties; Duggan carried a WCW flag to the ring before the contest; early in the match, Bischoff said Dave Taylor was scheduled to face Psychosis but Taylor would instead face Masahiro Chono so Chono would have a tune-up before Souled Out; he then said he was giving Rick Steiner the night off and Hall would face Booker T in Steiner’s place

WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall (sub. for Rick Steiner) pinned Booker T (w/ Sister Sherri) with the Outsider’s Edge at 2:50, moments after Marcus Bagwell appeared ringside and argued with Sherri; during the bout, Eric Bischoff said he was watching “that mess of a pay-per-view” the previous night and WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash noted he and Hall opened the United Center years before; Nick Patrick was the referee for the contest
Lex Luger defeated Stevie Ray (w/ Sister Sherri) via submission with the Torture Rack at 2:20; Nick Patrick, wearing a nWo shirt, was the referee for the match despite a nWo wrestler not being involved; after the contest, Sherri confronted Patrick and Stevie chased him from the ring
WCW @ Des Moines, IA – Veterans Memorial Auditorium – January 27, 1997
Monday Nitro – included an opening segment with Eric Bischoff, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash at the announce table, with Bischoff showing footage of how Hall & Nash had the WCW Tag Team Titles “stolen” from them two days earlier at Souled Out after WCW referee Randy Anderson counted the pinfall; moments later, Bischoff called for Anderson to come down to the announce table from where he was in the ring and questioned him as to why he was even in the building; Bischoff said he knew Anderson had a tough year – alluding to his bout with cancer – but then fired him; moments later, Bischoff called for the Steiners to come out, noted he just fired Anderson for his actions, stripped them of their championship, and told them to leave the belts with Hall & Nash; the Steiners responded by throwing down the title belts, with Bischoff saying they would be fined and then telling them to go to the ring for the opening match; following the opening match, Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyszko took over announce duties; featured a segment in which Schiavone & Zbyszko reviewed still images from Souled Out highlighting WCW victories; they were unable to show footage, they said, because the nWo possessed it; included a segment in which footage was shown for the first time on broadcast TV of Roddy Piper beating WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan at Starrcade, with Schiavone noting the footage had not previously aired because Bischoff wouldn’t allow it; as the footage aired, Hogan’s arm dropped for two but the footage was cut off before it dropped for three; Schiavone then relayed that Bischoff had the tape cut off in the production truck; moments later, Bischoff confronted the announce team and warned them never to “pull a stunt like that again” before physically destroying the tape; featured a nWo Souled Out T-shirt ad featuring Hall & Nash; included the announcement Harlem Heat vs. Public Enemy, Lex Luger vs. La Parka, and Glacier would highlight the coming week’s WCW Saturday Night; featured Gene Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Woman, Arn Anderson, Steve McMichael, & Debra McMichael, with Flair saying he wasn’t afraid of Dan Gable because he had Anderson; Flair said the Horsemen were reunited, Anderson said Jeff Jarrett wasn’t a Horseman, and Benoit warned Kevin Sullivan to let go; Benoit went on to say he was going to the ring alone later in the night and didn’t need anyone backing him; Schiavone, Mike Tenay, & Bobby Heenan took over commentary duties for the second hour; included a segment in which Hogan and Bischoff were escorted out by Elizabeth, with the two then cutting an in-ring promo claiming Hogan pinned the Giant “last night” at Souled Out; moments later, Hogan agreed to defend against the Giant later in the show, with Sting and Randy Savage briefly appearing in the crowd; featured a segment in which a police officer approached the commentary table and handed Schiavone a letter from the WCW offices; moments later, Schiavone grabbed the mic and announced to the crowd that the telegram read Hogan would defend the title at SuperBrawl in San Francisco against Roddy Piper; included an ad promoting the WCW Power Plant:
Rick & Scott Steiner defeated Meng & the Barbarian at 5:55 when Scott pinned Meng with an overhead belly to belly suplex; during the bout, Eric Bischoff noted a WCW Tag Team Title match was advertised to be part of Nitro and Scott Hall & Kevin Nash would defend the titles later in the show; Harlem Heat and Sister Sherri were shown sitting in the crowd during the match; Bischoff, Hall & Nash provided commentary for the bout; Hall referred to Rick as “Robbie” during the match; the nWo trio claimed WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan defeated the Giant at Souled Out
The Giant pinned Roadblock with the chokeslam at 1:48; during the bout, the Giant knocked Roadblock through a ringside table; after the match, Giant took the mic, noted WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan couldn’t get rid of him at Souled Out, and he wanted him in a title match later in the broadcast
Jeff Jarrett defeated WCW US Champion Eddie Guerrero via disqualification at 4:33 after Debra McMichael dragged Steve McMichael to ringside, wanting him to help Jarrett, and Steve hit Jarrett with his steel briefcase
The Ultimo Dragon (w/ Sonny Onoo) pinned Billy Pearl at 2:44 with a double chicken wing suplex into a bridge
Lex Luger defeated Ron Powers via submission with the Torture Rack at 1:14; after the match, Gene Okerlund conducted an in-ring interview with Luger in which Luger said he respected the Giant for their previous battles and would aid him against the nWo
Arn Anderson & Steve McMichael (w/ Debra McMichael) defeated Jacques Rougeau & Carl Ouelette (w/ Col. Parker) at 4:27 when McMichael pinned Rougeau after hitting him in the back with his steel briefcase as the referee was distracted by Ouelette trying to use the Canadian flagpole as a weapon; following their entrance, the Amazing French Canadians sang the Canadian National Anthem (Anderson’s last match)
WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash (w/ Syxx) defeated Ace Darling & Devon Storm at 1:59 when Hall pinned Storm with one foot on his chest after hitting the Outsider’s Edge (Darling & Storm’s debut as the Extreme)
Kevin Sullivan (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned Joe Gomez with the double stomp at the 43-second mark

Hugh Morrus pinned Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) at 3:07 with the No Laughing Matter after Kevin Sullivan, with Jimmy Hart, came out and smashed a wooden chair over Benoit’s head as referees were distracted by an unknown woman, who jumped the guardrail, confronting Woman at ringside; after the match, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview in the aisle with Sullivan, Hart, and the woman, with Sullivan saying her identity was none of Okerlund’s business; moments later, Hart warned Sullivan that she smelled like trouble to him and blamed women for the turmoil in the Four Horsemen; the woman said she tried to stay away from Sullivan but had to help him against Woman; she then warned Hart not to put her in the same category as Woman and Debra McMichael, before calling “Nancy” fat and saying Debra had “legs like a chicken;” she said Hart was the greatest manager but he couldn’t given Sullivan what she could, which was comfort (Jacqueline’s surprise debut)
The Giant defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Eric Bischoff, Ted Dibiase, & Vincent) via disqualification at 2:54 when WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash attacked the challenger as the Giant attempted to hit the chokeslam on Bischoff; following Hogan’s entrance, he cut an in-ring promo saying he would beat the Giant’s brains in and would do the same to Roddy Piper at SuperBrawl; the match began with Hogan and Vincent double teaming the challenger before the Giant fought them off and threw Vincent to the floor; after the contest, the Giant was double teamed before Lex Luger ran out, briefly faced off against the Giant, and then stared down the Outsiders alongside the Giant

Monday Nitro – hosted by Tony Schiavone & Larry Zbyszko for the first hour, with Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, & Mike Tenay hosting the second hour; included an opening in-ring promo by WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, with Ted Dibiase and Vincent, in which he claimed Roddy Piper was following him around Hollywood and mocked WCW offering Piper a shot at his title at SuperBrawl; Hogan then said he would confront Piper, if Piper does in fact show up later in the show, put his title on the line and beat him there in Memphis; featured a nWo denim jacket ad featuring Syxx and Dibiase; included the announcement Jeff Jarrett vs. Hugh Morrus and WCW US Champion Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko would be part of WCW Saturday Night; featured Gene Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, Woman, Steve McMichael, & Debra McMichael in which they discussed coming out stronger for their previous miscommunications; moments later, Woman discussed the arrival of Jaqueline, McMichael said he wanted to face Jeff Jarrett in Lex Luger’s spot later in the broadcast, Debra cut a promo on Jacqueline, and Flair said the group was reunited; Flair went on to cut a promo on Kevin Sullivan; included Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Sullivan, Jimmy Hart, Jacqueline, and Konnan, with Hart saying he hates woman in pro wrestling and they were nothing but trouble; moments later, Konnan said he wanted Benoit, Jacqueline said Debra McMichael got plastic surgery to look the way she does, and Sullivan responded to comments from Benoit and Flair and said he was certain Woman wore out Flair’s arm because everything else on Flair was dead or not working; featured Okerlund conducting a closing interview with Piper, with his son Colt, about having a title match with Hogan, with Piper saying he wasn’t sure if he wanted it because he already beat Hogan; Piper went on to say it was time for him to be a man and be a father to his six kids, adding he didn’t want the title shot and had nothing left to prove; moments later, Hogan, Bischoff, Dibiase, and Vincent walked out, with Piper saying, “Terry, don’t do this to me, man;” Hogan told Piper to beg for mercy, noted Piper had never been world champion, and Bischoff told Piper to admit to the audience that Hogan beat him like a drum; Piper relunctantly said, in front of his son, “Hollywood Hogan beat me like a drum” and said he just wanted to leave; Hogan said Piper didn’t deserve to even be called a coward because he was hiding behind a kid and told him to get out of his sport; Hogan and Bischoff went on to mock and taunt Piper before Piper helped his son out of the ring and took off his jacket; moments later, Piper knocked Bischoff to the floor and attacked Hogan with his belt buckle; Piper then cleared the ring with Hogan’s own title belt before holding it up in the air and agreeing to the SuperBrawl title shot; Piper, with his son beside him, took the mic and told the live audience he would fight Hogan:

Glacier pinned Billy Kidman at 2:08 with a standing sidekick as Kidman came off the top rope
Ice Train (w/ Teddy Long) pinned La Parka with a jumping splash at 5:15; late in the match, a backstage camera found Lex Luger knocked out backstage, with WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash standing over him with lead pipes; Nash was shown wearing a Giant T-shirt and Hall a Luger T-shirt
Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) fought Rick & Scott Steiner to a double disqualification at 4:58 when the Public Enemy and Meng & the Barbarian, who were shown watching on from the crowd, ran out, attacked both teams, and brawled with each other; prior to the bout, footage was shown of Eric Bischoff stripping the Steiners of the WCW Tag Team Titles the previous week; after the contest, Public Enemy and Meng & Barbarian brawled all the way backstage, with the Steiners and Harlem Heat left in the ring, upset over the decision
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Dean Malenko pinned Mike Enos at 7:09 with an inside cradle out of an attempted suplex; late in the contest, Syxx came through the crowd and stole the WCW Cruiserweight Title belt without Malenko noticing
Diamond Dallas Page pinned the Renegade at 2:03 with a Diamond Cutter from the top turnbuckle; after the bout, WCW Tag Team Champions Kevin Nash & Scott Hall appeared at the entranceway with lead pipes in their hands; moments later, Sting and Randy Savage were shown in opposite parts of the crowd; Page then grabbed a steel chair to protect himself; Hall and Nash eventually went backstage, with Savage disappearing as well
Alex Wright pinned Super Calo with a missile dropkick at 6:38 after Calo failed a somersault splash off the top
Konnan (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) via disqualification at 4:15 when Benoit threw Konnan over the top rope after seeing Jacqueline, armed with a leather strap, approaching Woman outside the ring; after the bout, Benoit stole away the strap before Konnan and Hart pulled Jaqueline from ringside

Monday Nitro – included an opening segment showing the closing moments of Spring Stampede in which Randy Savage knocked Eric Bischoff to the mat, with the rest of the nWo coming out to calm down Savage; featured footage from the “Double Team” premiere in Chicago, with a nWo promo by WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman; included an in-ring segment with the nWo – a group led by Hogan and a group led by Kevin Nash – in which Hogan and Nash teased a fight but eventually made up, however Randy Savage was still angry at Eric Bischoff; after Hogan intervened, Savage told Bischoff he was on probation with both Ted Turner and Savage and Savage himself was on probation with Bischoff – with Bischoff agreeing; featured Gene Okerlund conducting an in-ring interview with Ric Flair in which Flair brought out Roddy Piper and later Kevin Greene and challenged the nWo; included a closing in-ring promo by DDP, with an ice pack on his shoulder, in which he called himself an anomoly – something that wasn’t supposed to happen – and then challenged Savage to face him then and there; Savage then came out on his crutches, with Hogan stepping in-between and saying he would take down DDP for Savage; moments later, Sting dropped from the rafters into the aisle, blocking Hogan, Savage, and the rest of the nWo to DDP, throwing a baseball bat to Page, and then staring down the nWo alongside Page to close the show:
Konnan & Hugh Morrus defeated Alex Wright & Psychosis at 5:04 when Morrus pinned Wright with a swinging neckbreaker and the moonsault after Konnan hit Wright from behind; during the bout, footage was shown from earlier in the day of Diamond Dallas Page arriving to the arena with a black eye following his match the previous night against Randy Savage, with DDP saying he wasn’t done with Savage; after the match, Konnan hit a cradle DDT on Psychosis and demanded the referee give him a 3-count as well
Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Lord Steven Regal via disqualification at 4:32 when Regal refused to break the Regal Stretch after Mysterio reached the ropes; during the bout, WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff, Ted Dibiase, & Vincent were shown arriving to the arena; after the bout, WCW TV Champion Prince Iaukea attempted to make the save but was also locked in the Regal Stretch for several moments until several referees came out to break the hold, with Regal then getting more shots in on both men; moments later, Randy Savage – on crutches – Elizabeth, Syxx, fake Sting, Kevin Nash, Michael Wallstreet, and Buff Bagwell arrived to the arena in a second limo
Chris Benoit (w/ Woman) pinned Ice Train (w/ Teddy Long) at 3:08 with a DDT after knocking Long off the apron; during the bout, backstage footage showed Hogan arguing with Kevin Nash and Randy Savage until Nash walked off
Kevin Sullivan (w/ Jimmy Hart & Jacquiline) pinned Hector Guerrero at 2:47 with the Tree of Woe and the double stomp
WCW US Champion Dean Malenko pinned Chris Jericho at 3:01 with a kick to the face after ramming Jericho face-first into the steel ringpost; moments later, the trainer came out to check on Jericho
High Voltage defeated Public Enemy at 3:06 when Rage pinned Rocco Rock with a Northern Lights suplex after Johnny Grunge fell through a table set up at ringside; during the bout, Tony Schiavone announced Slamboree tickets would be on sale the following Saturday in Charlotte and DDP and Kimberly would be on hand at the Independence Arena; after the match, Okerlund interviewed Public Enemy in the ring in which they challenged High Voltage to a Philadelphia streetfight the following week and said they “might have to get a little bit extreme”
Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) defeated Jeff Jarrett & Steve McMichael (w/ Debra) at 9:02 when Booker T pinned Jarrett with a Harlem Side Kick after Jarrett was pushed into the ring by McMichael; Jarrett wrestled the majority of the match alone since McMichael didn’t come ringside until the 7:30 mark; after the bout, Okerlund interviewed Jarrett, McMichael, and Debra in the ring in which McMichael avoided Jarrett’s questions about where he was but McMichael did warn everyone in WCW to be afraid of him
The Ultimo Dragon (w/ Sonny Onoo) pinned WCW TV Champion Prince Iaukea to win the title at 2:03 after a series of kicks to the champion’s injured ribs; Iaukea’s ribs were heavily taped for the match following the attack he sustained earlier in the show from Lord Steven Regal
The Giant fought Scott Steiner to a no contest when Hugh Morrus & Konnan attacked Steiner from behind as he made his way to the ring, with the Giant help making the save; moments later, Steiner and the Giant shook hands and went backstage together as the crowd booed the non-match

Monday Nitro – included an opening segment highlighting the altercation the previous week between WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash as well as the closing segment involving Sting & Diamond Dallas Page facing off against the nWo; featured the nWo taking over the announce table, with Kevin Nash saying Lex Luger would have go to through him if he wanted a shot against Hogan later in the show; Eric Bischoff wore a nWo Dennis Rodman t-shirt during the segment; included a clip from the upcoming film “Volcano,” in theatres April 25; featured Gene Okerlund interviewing Luna Vachon in which she said she was the #1 contender to the WCW Women’s Title and said she would take the title from Madusa’s waist, forgetting Madusa wasn’t the champion; included Okerlund interviewing Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, and Kevin Greene in the ring in which it was announced Flair, Piper, & Greene would face the nWo at Slamboree, with Piper saying guys like he and Flair made Starrcade and WrestleMania and paved the way for the guys in the nWo; moments later, Greene said he was betrayed by Hulk Hogan and wanted revenge; Flair then gave a brief timeline of his career – 1973 with Verne Gagne, 1983 against Dick the Bruiser, and 1993 against Randy Savage at the Hoosier Dome (it was actually 92); Ray Rhodes, coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, was in attendance for the show:
Chris Benoit pinned the Barbarian (w/ Jimmy Hart) at 2:35 with the diving headbutt after avoiding one from the Barbarian; after the bout, Kevin Sullivan, Konnan, Hugh Morrus, and Jacquline joined the Barbarian in attacking Benoit until Jeff Jarrett and Steve McMichael, wielding his Halliburton, cleared the ring; moments later, Gene Okerlund interviewed Benoit in the ring and said he knew he had to destroy Sullivan or Sullivan would destroy him
WCW US Champion Dean Malenko defeated Hector Guerrero at 2:54 via submission with the Texas Cloverleaf; prior to the bout, it was said there would be an announcement made the following week regarding Eric Bischoff’s involvement in WCW; after the match, Eddie Guerrero – his arm in a sling – came out and confronted Malenko in the aisle after Malenko refused to break the hold after the bell before Eddie tended to his older brother
Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned Juventud Guerrera at 3:24 with the hurricanrana into a roll up; prior to the bout, Reggie White was shown sitting in the crowd and it was announced White had signed to wrestle Steve McMichael

Public Enemy defeated High Voltage in a streetfight at 4:37 when Rocco Rock pinned Chaos following a Drive By through two tables stacked on each other outside the ring; PE wore Philadelphia Flyers jerseys for the match

Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Kimberly) pinned Konnan at 2:08 with the Diamond Cutter; after the match, Randy Savage and Elizabeth appeared in the crowd with Savage cutting a promo telling DDP to stop his wife fantasizing about Savage and calling him, with Page then running through the crowd to get at Savage
Jeff Jarrett & Steve McMichael (w/ Debra) defeated Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) via disqualification at 7:06 after Sherri pinned Debra in the corner and tried to hit McMichael with the Halliburton; after the match, Okerlund interviewed Jarrett, McMichael, and Debra about the fact McMichael would face White at Slamboree, with McMichael praising White’s football accomplishments before saying he left Philadelphia for the money; moments later, White jumped the railing, McMichael spat at him, and the two were pulled apart by officials
Lex Luger defeated WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash (w/ WCW Cruiserweight Champion Syxx, Scott NOrton, Michael Wallstreet, Vincent, Buff Bagwell, nWo Sting, & Ted Dibiase) via disqualification at 4:06 when the nWo interfered after Luger knocked Nash to the mat; after the bout, DDP attempted to make the save but was beaten down as well; moments later, the Giant came out, with Sting following moments later and tossing baseball bats to Luger, DDP, and the Giant as they surrounded the ring; Sting then dropped Nash with his bat, with the nWo escaping to the floor (The Very Best of WCW Monday Nitro Vol. 3)

Monday Nitro – included an opening shot of JJ Dillon arriving to the arena, making his debut as the new chairman of the WCW Executive Committee (Dillon’s TV return after a 7-year absence); featured footage from last week’s Nitro of Sting coming ringside and tossing baseball bats to Lex Luger, the Giant, and Diamond Dallas Page to rid the nWo from the ring; Nick Patrick then interrupted the segment by coming out and saying he was petitioning to be reinstated as a referee, apologized for his actions since joining the nWo, but there were people he would not apologize to such as Eric Bischoff and Randy Savage, with Larry Zbyzsko arguing with Patrick that he wasn’t trustworthy; included a vignette of Chris Benoit, promoting his match with Meng at Slamboree; featured Okerlund interviewing Dillon in which Dillon said Patrick’s petition for reinstatement had been taken under advisement, Eric Bischoff now has no authority within WCW, but Bischoff has an iron-clad contract as executive vice-president; Bischoff then walked out and, after Dillon said the nWo contracts of Big Bubba and Michael Wallstreet were not valid because they didn’t jump ship within the alloted 30-day window, Bischoff replied by saying “Bite me;” Bischoff then said no one could stop him from doing whatever he wanted with the nWo, with Dillon saying Bischoff was the most powerful man in wrestling but he didn’t do it alone and he betrayed everyone’s trust; he then finished by saying he didn’t want to fill Bischoff’s shoes, he wanted to walk in his own; included footage of last week’s in-ring pull-apart brawl between Reggie White and Steve McMichael; featured a Lex Luger vignette; included an nWo vignette of WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan on the set of his new movie “McGinsey’s Island,” co-staring Robert Vaughn and Grace Jones with appearances from both; featured an in-ring promo from the nWo – Kevin Nash, WCW Cruiserweight Chamion Syxx, fake Sting, Buff Bagwell, Vincent, and Scott Norton – in which Syxx replied to recent comments from Ric Flair and said he had no respect for Flair or Roddy Piper; Nash then said the “legends” like Flair and Piper left the young guys nothing and WCW used to be a place where a bunch of guys only pushed their sons; he said Scott Hall was on the verge of becoming a superstar but WCW cut his salary so he went to New York; Nash then said he was from the south side of Detroit, which popped the crowd, and said respect wasn’t given but beaten out of someone and that it was the new generation’s time to shine; he then said his generation was having to patch the potholes left behind by guys like Flair and Piper; included Okerlund conducting an in-ring interview with Flair, Piper, & Kevin Greene about their match against the nWo at Slamboree, with the three challenging their opponents to come out then and there and “pave the highway;” moments later, the nWo appeared and brought out WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall – who had been off TV several weeks – with the WCW team and nWo group brawling to end the show:
WCW US Champion Dean Malenko defeated Yuji Nagata via submission with the Texas Cloverleaf at 6:01; the Green Bay Packers’ Reggie White, who would face Steve McMichael at Slamboree, was shown sitting ringside during the match
Glacier pinned Ciclope at the 33-second mark with the superkick; during the bout, the crowd chanted “Glacier sucks;” after the match, the man (Bryan Clarke) that helped Mortis double team Glacier at Uncensored came out, distracting Glacier as Mortis came in behind him and dropped him with a kick; Glacier was then double teamed and had his eye injured as James Vandenburg stole his helmet
WCW TV Champion the Ultimo Dragon (w/ Sonny Onoo) defeated Bobby Eaton at 2:48 via submission with the Dragon Sleeper; after the match, Gene Okerlund interviewed Lord Steven Regal in the aisle, with Regal saying spending time with Sarah Ferguson “was like spending the night with a ripped-out bloody fireplace;” Regal then cut a promo on facing the Dragon for the title at Slamboree
Meng (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Chris Jericho via KO at 3:19 with the Tongan Death Grip after catching Jericho coming off the top and hitting a modified Stun Gun; prior to the bout, it was announced the following week’s show would be 1-hour and would air at 7 p.m. due to the NBA playoffs; after the match, Okerlund interviewed Meng and Hart in the aisle about Meng’s match with Chris Benoit at Slamboree; moments later, Kevin Sullivan appeared, with Jacquiline, and said he let Nancy and his son leave him but was upset with his daughter Shannon for her comments
Rick & Scott Steiner fought Public Enemy to a no contest at 3:12 when Konnan & Hugh Morrus attacked the Steiners, with Public Enemy helping the Steiners fight them off; prior to the bout, the Steiners’ music played but they didn’t appear; moments later, they were seen fighting off an attack from Konnan & Morrus – their opponents for Slamboree – backstage until security broke the four men apart, with the Steiners then coming out for the match; members of the Steiners’ family were shown at ringside prior to the match
Jeff Jarrett (w/ Debra) defeated Scotty Riggs at 3:53 via submission with the figure-4 after knocking Riggs off the top, with Riggs hurting his leg as he fell; prior to the bout, footage was shown from the previous Saturday’s WCW Saturday Night of Riggs beating Jarrett and Jarrett attacking Riggs after the bout; late in the match, Steve McMichael attempted to interfere but Reggie White jumped out of the crowd, stole away McMichael’s Halliburton, and scared him backstage
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Syxx (w/ WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash) defeated Rey Mysterio Jr. at 5:53 via KO with the Buzzkiller after Nash interfered and hit the powerbomb on the challenger; after the bout, JJ Dillon came out and ordered Syxx to break the hold, with security keeping Syxx back as Mysterio was taken backstage on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance; moments later, Dillon yelled at Nash & Syxx and told them their behavior wouldn’t be tolerated any longer, with both replying “Bite me”

Lex Luger defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan in a non-title match via submission with the Torture Rack at around the 5:30 mark after fighting off an interfering Syxx, WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash; prior to the match, Hogan and Eric Bischoff came out, with Hogan saying he only wrestled or put his title up when he wanted to and he didn’t want to wrestle because he wouldn’t want to bore the crowd with how easily he beat Luger; moments later, Luger came out, with Bischoff insulting him until Luger shoved him to the mat and knocked down Hogan to start the match; Bobby Heenan joined the commentary team late in the contest; after the match, Luger was beaten down by Hall, Nash, Hogan, and Syxx; after Luger sustained several legdrops from Hogan, referees pulled him to safety on the floor; moments later, Bischoff and Hogan mocked Luger wanting a tag team match against Hogan and Dennis Rodman at Bash at the Beach
Jeff Jarrett defeated WCW US Champion Dean Malenko to win the title via submission with the figure-4 at around the 13:30 mark after Eddie Guerrero, his arm in a sling, came through the crowd and hit the frog splash on the champion behind the referee’s back; Guerrero then left the sling in the ring, showing he was no longer injured; early in the match, Debra McMichael appeared ringside to support Jarrett

Monday Nitro – featured an opening in-ring promo by Ric Flair conducted by Gene Okerlund in which had two women bring out a mannequin dressed as Roddy Piper and then cut a promo on Piper; included Okerlund interviewing Rey Mysterio Jr. in the aisle in which Mysterio – after the attack he sustained weeks before from Kevin Nash – challenged Nash to a match later in the show, with Nash then coming out to accept the challenge; featured an in-ring promo by WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff in which Hogan cut a promo on he and Dennis Rodman’s match at Bash at the Beach against Lex Luger & the Giant, said Nash would destroy Mysterio, and Luger, the Giant, and Diamond Dallas Page would suffer later in the show; included the announcement Public Enemy would face Harlem Heat on WCW Saturday Night; featured Okerlund conducting an interview with Rick & Scott Steiner in which they said they worked to earn the #1 contender spot to face the Outsiders for the WCW Tag Team Titles, with the Outsiders and Syxx then appearing flanked by Scott Norton, Vincent, Buff Bagwell, and Masahiro Chono; Hall then offered the Steiners a contract which they signed and then left, with Hall revealing they signed for a tag match but it would be against Chono & the Great Muta; included a Kevin Sullivan vignette promoting his career vs. career match against Chris Benoit at Bash at the Beach; featured an outside shot of a white limo arriving to the arena, with the commentary team speculating it was the “impact player” promised to debut during the show; included Mike Tenay conducting an interview in the crowd with Raven in which Raven ignored each of Tenay’s questions:
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chris Jericho defeated Juventud Guerrera via submission with the Liontamer at 6:48 after a hurricanrana off the top; prior to the bout, it was announced Jericho won the title two days before at the Great Western Forum during WCW’s Saturday Nitro Internet audio broadcast; after the match, Okerlund interviewed Jericho in the ring about his title win over the nWo Saturday until Syxx interrupted and said Jericho didn’t beat anything until he got back to his hotel room that night and then slapped Jericho across the face; after the commercial break, security pulled the two men apart as they fought in the ring, with Alex Wright then coming out and cutting a heel promo while talking with Okerlund, saying he had been held back because he’s German (The Very Best of WCW Monday Nitro Vol. 3)
Eddie Guerrero pinned Dean Malenko at 3:59 with the brainbuster and Frog Splash after ramming Malenko into Chavo Guerrero Jr. on the apron, knocking Chavo to the floor; after the bout, Eddie and Chavo left ringside together

High Voltage defeated Mortis & Wrath (w/ James Vandenberg) at 1:15 when Rage pinned Mortis after Ernest Miller, who came ringside moments earlier with Glacier, hit a top rope Feliner as Glacier distracted Wrath on the floor
WCW US Champion Jeff Jarrett defeated Konnan via submission with the figure-4 at 4:11 while grabbing onto Ric Flair outside the ring for added leverage, moments after Flair and Chris Benoit came ringside; prior to the bout, Raven was shown sitting in the crowd; after the match, Okerlund interviewed Jarrett and the remainder of the Horsemen in the ring with Flair telling Jarrett he was no longer a Horseman and Debra telling Jarrett he stinks; moments later, Jarrett said he would put Flair out to pasture and then left ringside (Raven’s surprise debut)
WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash pinned Rey Mysterio Jr. at 1:48 by placing one foot on his chest after hitting the powerbomb; after the bout, Nash dropped Mysterio twice more with the powerbomb and knocked out the referee before Konnan came out to the ring; after a brief staredown, Nash left ringside as Konnan attacked Mysterio’s knee; after the commercial break, Mysterio was placed on a stretcher and taken backstage (The Very Best of Nitro Vol. 2)
Lex Luger, the Giant, & Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Kimberly) fought Randy Savage (w/ Elizabeth), WCW Tag Team Champions Kevin Nash & Scott Hall to a no contest at around the 4-minute mark after WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan attacked the Giant and Luger on the floor as DDP was triple teamed in the ring, with other members of the nWo coming out to beat down Luger & the Giant; several moments later, a fake Sting appeared in the crowd before the real Sting dropped from the rafters and cleared the ring; Curt Hennig then appeared and walked toward the ring just as Raven jumped the guard rail and the show ended (Hennig’s surprise debut)

Alex Wright fought Prince Iaukea to a no contest at around the 2-minute mark when the Giant appeared, hit a chokeslam on the referee, Iaukea, and several members of security as Wright left the ring; prior to the bout, Wright cut an insert promo claiming the fans were jealous of him because of his body and the fact he gets so many girls; after the bout, the Giant cut an in-ring promo saying he wanted Kevin Nash after realizing Nash was the fake Sting the night before; as the segment ended, Doug Dillinger and other members of security came out to calm the Giant down
Eddie Guerrero pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. at 4:15 with a powerbomb and the frog splash after raising his knees to block Chavo’s own frog splash; prior to the bout, footage was shown from the previous week of Eddie walking out of his tag team match with Chavo against Scott Norton & Buff Bagwell; after the contest, Eddie hit the move a second time, with Hector Guerrero then appearing and standing over Chavo; moments later, Eddie shoved Hector to the mat and left the ring
Rick & Scott Steiner defeated Scott Norton & Buff Bagwell (w/ Vincent) via disqualification at 6:45 when the Great Muta & Masahiro Chono attacked the Steiners as the Steiners attempted the bulldog off the top double team on Bagwell; early in the contest, it was announced the Steiners would face WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash at Road Wild; during the contest, Konnan, Syxx, Hall, and Nash were shown arriving to the arena in a limo; after the contest, the Steiners eventually cleared the ring of all five opponents (Konnan’s debut with the New World Order)
Chris Benoit defeated Mike Enos via submission with the Crippler Crossface at 3:47; prior to the bout, Benoit cut an insert promo on ending Kevin Sulivan’s career the previous night at Bash at the Beach and said he would now focus on Horsemen business
La Parka defeated Super Calo via disqualification at the 49-second mark when Randy Savage attacked La Parka; prior to the bout, footage was shown from the previous week of Diamond Dallas Page, dressed as La Parka, beating Savage after hitting the Diamond Cutter; during La Parka’s entrance, Kimberly was shown near the entranceway giving the Diamond Cutter sign, alluding that La Parka could be Diamond Dallas Page in disguise; after the contest, Page attacked Savage until Curt Hennig knocked Page out with a foreign object and then left the ring; moments later, Savage hit the flying elbowsmash on Page; Gene Okerlund then conducted an interview with Hennig in the aisle in which Hennig called Page the biggest mark in the industry and that he couldn’t last 30 seconds with Hennig, just like he can’t last 30 seconds “with that hosebag;” Ric Flair then appeared, bowed before Hennig, and went backstage with him
WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall & Syxx (sub. for WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash) (w/ WCW Tag Team Champion Kevin Nash) defeated Harlem Heat at 9:01 when Hall pinned Booker T with the Outsider’s Edge after Nash, confined to a wheelchair at ringside, leapt onto the apron behind the referee’s back and clubbed Booker in the back of the head; prior to the bout, Eric Bischoff, Vincent, Konnan, Masahiro Chono, the Great Muta, Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton, Hall, Syxx, and Nash appeared at the entranceway; Bischoff then said Nash, in a wheelchair, was injured and then gave the mic to Nash for him to respond to claims he was dressed as Sting the previous night; Nash then had several of the New World Order members help him to his feet before officially welcoming Konnan, referred to as “K Dawg,” into the nWo, with Konnan then revealing an nWo shirt underneath his button-up; during Harlem Heat’s entrance, footage was shown from the June 16 Nitro in which Vincent interrupted the Heat’s interview, with the Heat then double teaming him in the aisle
The Great Muta & Masahiro Chono (w/ Vincent) defeated Public Enemy at 6:51 when Chono pinned Johnny Grunge with the Mafia Kick after Muta sprayed green mist into Grunge’s face; Muta joined the referee in making the pinfall during the cover
WCW US Champion Jeff Jarrett (w/ Debra McMichael) defeated Ric Flair via disqualification at 5:24 when, as Flair had the champion in the figure-4, Steve McMichael came ringside, argued with Debra, and then joined Chris Benoit and Flair in triple teaming Jarrett inside the ring; Jarrett eventually fled ringside with Debra

Monday Nitro – hosted by Tony Schiavone, Larry Zbyszko, & Mike Tenay for the first hour, with Bobby Heenan replacing Zybszko for the second hour; featured footage from the end of the Clash of the Champions in which Eric Bischoff and the entire nWo celebrated, only for Sting to then appear in the rafters with a vulture; after a narration was heard, the vulture appeared on the top rope of the ring, with the nWo watching on as the broadcast ended; included an in-ring segment in which Gene Okerlund spoke with Bischoff, with Bischoff telling Okerlund to shut up before mocking JJ Dillon’s ultimatum given to Sting and implied Sting had missed his opportunity to tell Dillon what he wanted so he wouldn’t get it; Okerlund then spoke with Dillon, on the phone, who said Sting did in fact give his answer at the Clash of the Champions and the fans agreed; Dillon went on to say he would have a match between Sting and WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan signed by the end of the year; Bischoff immediately argued that Hogan had title defenses around the world and had movies to make and went on to say that Hogan would easily take out Sting if he wanted to; Sting walked out to the ring and up behind Bischoff, with Bischoff immediately dropping to his knees and begging Sting off once he saw him; Sting then put a Hollywood Hogan T-shirt over Bischoff’s head and shoved him to the mat, then took the shirt and stuck it in Bischoff’s mouth; included a promo by Raven in which he spoke about finding salvation; featured a performance of the Nitro Girls at the entrance stage; featured a promo by WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall and Randy Savage, with Elizabeth, at the entrance stage, in which Hall said he was happy to announce the nWo’s latest member as Diamond Dallas Page since DDP was such a help to the nWo at the Clash; when DDP didn’t appear, Savage said he was initially not happy with DDP joining the group but then realized the nWo didn’t already have a weak link; Hall & Savage then discussed Lex Luger’s losing streak since Road Wild, with Savage saying he wanted Luger later in the night; included Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with DDP about his actions at the Clash, with DDP saying what he did to Luger at the Clash was an accident and he had aspirations of joining the nWo with Savage and Hall; DDP said Luger wasn’t in the building yet but they would resolve it when he was; featured an in-ring performance by the Nitro Girls, followed by Okerlund sharing info on how fans can share video of their own Nitro parties, with the grand prize winners every three months winning their own Nitro Party; included a WCW merchandise ad featuring Public Enemy; featured an in-ring segment in which Okerlund introduced Ric Flair, chris Benoit, and WCW US Champion Steve McMichael, with Flair immediately calling for Curt Hennig to join the rest of them in the ring; Hennig told Flair he wasn’t ready yet to give an answer as to if he would join the Horsemen, with Flair saying he had someone with him that wanted to have a talk with Hennig and brought out Arn Anderson; Anderson said he had a successful career through sheer will but had four vertebrae taken out of his back and would not put his teammates at risk by being anything than ‘the Enforcer’ in Flair’s eyes; Anderson said he had nothing left to give but had one last challenge, to Hennig, to help Flair lead the Horsemen by taking his personal spot in the Horsemen; Hennig quickly accepted the offer and embraced the other members of the group; included Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Rey Mysterio Jr. about the injured knee he sustained from Konnan at Road Wild, with Mysterio saying he would meet with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL; moments later, Konnan interrupted and told Mysterio to grab a Happy Meal before he broke his other leg; as Konnan threatened Mysterio, the Giant came up behind Konnan and scared him off; featured Okerlund conducting an interview in the aisle with Harlem Heat and Jackie, with Booker saying Jackie was now a member of Harlem Heat and said Rick & Scott Steiner needed to step aside so they could personally take care of WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash; Stevie Ray went on to say he and Booker never had to go “up north” or to Japan to get their reputation; moments later, the Steiners and Ted Dibiase interrupted and said they got the job done against Hall & Nash at Road Wild; Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton, and Vincent then walked out, with Bagwell saying the Steiners can’t beat the Outsiders and the Heat can’t beat the Steiners and neither team could beat Bagwell & Norton; a brawl then errupted between all three teams; included an in-ring performance of the Nitro Girls:

Chris Benoit & WCW US Champion Steve McMichael defeated Eddie Guerrero & Jeff Jarrett (w/ Debra McMichael) at around the 8-minute mark when McMichael pinned Jarrett after Dean Malenko interfered behind the referee’s back, shoved Guerrero off the top rope, and then hit a frog splash onto Jarrett, who had McMichael in the figure-4; prior to the bout, Ric Flair & Curt Hennig escorted Benoit & McMichael out to the entranceway; during the match, it was noted Guerrero would challenge WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chris Jericho at Fall Brawl; it was noted during the bout that Flair, Lex Luger, and Diamond Dallas Page would help comprise Team WCW in Wargames and that Malenko would face Jarrett at Fall Brawl Mortis (w/ James Vandenburg & Wrath) pinned Silver King at 3:32 following a Samoan Drop from the middle turnbuckle; after the bout, Vandenburg took the mic and challenged Meng & the Barbarian on behalf of Mortis & Wrath; moments later, the two teams brawled in the ring as it was announced they would do battle at Fall Brawl; eventually, Meng & the Barbarian won the fight and cleared the ring

Buff Bagwell (w/ Vincent) pinned Glacier with the Buff Blockbuster at 6:24 after Vincent prevented Glacier from hitting a superplex on Bagwell (the end of Glacier’s year-long undefeated streak)
Lizmark Jr. defeated Villano IV (w/ Villano V) by pinning an interfering Villano V at 4:11 with a moonsault from the middle rope; moments earlier, the Villanos switched places in the match behind the referee’s back; prior to the bout, it was announced Rey Mysterio Jr. would not require surgery on his knee and would return to the ring within the next month; mid-way through the match, Raven appeared in the crowd and took a ringside seat; after the contest, Lizmark cleared Villano V from the ring
WCW TV Champion Alex Wright pinned Hugh Morrus at 5:52 with a spin wheel kick and putting his feet on the ropes for leverage after prior to the bout, the Nitro Girls performed at the entranceway until Disco Inferno came out, started dancing with them, and scared them away; moments later, Wright came out, got in a shoving match with Disco, with Disco then backing down and going backstage; late in the match, Disco appeared ringside and during the final moments, fought in the ring with Morrus in clear view of referee Randy Anderson
Stevie Richards pinned Damien at the 50-second mark when, as Damien came out for the match, Raven jumped over the barricade, and – outside of the referee’s view – dropped Damien with a DDT on the floor before rolling him into the ring; Richards came out to the ring wearing a T-shirt that read “Nitro + Stevie = Ratings;” Richards, not knowing what happened to Damien, checked him for a heartbeat and gave him medical treatment until Raven climbed on the apron and slapped Richards across the face, with Richards then covering Damien for the win
Ray Traylor pinned Prince Iaukea with the sidwwalk slam at 3:16; prior to the bout, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview with Big Bubba in the aisle in which he said his name was Ray Traylor and he was a man just like everyone else; he then spoke about being jumped in February, being told his wrestling career was over, and realizing the nWo was nowhere to be seen when he needed them the most; Traylor then said he didn’t get one phone call or card, but did get a registered letter from Eric Bischoff saying he was no longer needed in the nWo; Traylor then said he taught himself how to walk again by motivating himself with a photo of Bischoff (Traylor’s return after a 7-month absence)
Chavo Guerrero Jr. fought WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chris Jericho to a no contest; following the entrances, Eddie Guerrero came out, took the mic, and said Chavo needed to step down so Eddie could take his spot; moments later, Scotty Riggs appeared and said he was deserving of a title shot as well; Prince Iaukea, Damien, Billy Kidman, Ciclope, Super Astro, Super Calo, Villano IV & V, the Ultimo Dragon, WCW TV Champion Alex Wright, and Silver King eventually joined the debate, with all the men brawling in and out of the ring; moments later, after the majority of men had left the ring, Dragon applied the Dragon Sleeper on Wright on the floor as Eddie assaulted Jericho with the title belt inside the ring and then hit the frog splash

Ray Traylor defeated WCW US Champion Curt Hennig via disqualification at 6:32 when Scott Hall, Scott Norton, Buff Bagwell, Randy Savage, and Konnan attacked the challenger; prior to the bout, still photos were shown of Hennig defeating Ric Flair in their No DQ match the previous night at World War III; it was also noted Flair suffered an ankle injury in the match and would have to take a few weeks off; during Hennig’s entrance, Mike Tenay announced he was putting together a documentary on the late Brian Pillman and it would be available to fans, with profits going to Pillman’s family; Traylor hit the sidewalk slam during the final moments of the match, with it appearing as though the nWo interference came too late, forcing Hennig to kick out of the move; after the match, the nWo ganged up on Traylor with Savage hitting the elbowsmash and Elizabeth aiding in spraypainting Traylor
The Giant defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Vincent) via disqualification at 4:32 when a man dressed as Sting walked ringside and hit the Giant over his hand cast with a baseball bat, then revealing himself as Kevin Nash; prior to the bout, still photos were shown from the World War III battle royal, showing the interference from Hogan and Kevin Nash to allow Scott Hall to win; early in the match, Eric Bischoff & Rick Rude came out, scared off Tony Schiavone & Mike Tenay, and provided commentary for the bout; after the contest, WCW US Champion Curt Hennig, Scott Hall, Buff Bagwell, Randy Savage, Scott Norton, and Konnan came out and stood over the Giant’s body; moments later, “Sting” was lowered from the rafters but then crashed through the ring, with Hogan and Nash then hitting the dummy with the baseball bat; the dummy was then pulled out of the ring, with Hennig and Bagwell holding it up so Hogan could cut a promo as though it were the real Sting

Monday Nitro – featured opening stills from Sting’s in-ring celebration after dethroning Hulk Hogan of the WCW World Title the night before at Starrcade; purple and gold balloons fell from the rafters – WCW colors – to begin the broadcast; moments later, the Nitro Girls celebrated as Larry Zbyzsko walked out to the commentary table after saving Nitro’s future the night before and it was announced Zbyzsko would face Scott Hall at Souled Out 98; included Gene Okerlund conducting an in-ring interview with Bret Hart, who said the nWo sucked, justice prevailed at Starrcade, and the nWo reminded him “of the scum I just left behind;” Hart then listed Lex Luger, the Giant, Chris Benoit, and WCW World Champion Sting as some of the names he wanted to go up against and then singled out Hulk Hogan as the top man he wanted, saying “You escaped, you ran away from me a long time ago;” featured Okerlund interviewing Ric Flair in the aisle in which Flair congratulated Diamond Dallas Page on his US Title win and said he and Curt Hennig weren’t done, congratulated Sting, and gave Hart credit for his involvement; he then singled out Hart before quoting Dave Meltzer’s comments in the Baltimore Sun in which he said Flair was the greatest of all time; included an in-ring promo by Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff in which footage was shown of JJ Dillon saying Nick Patrick would be the referee for the Starrcade main event and then argued since Patrick called for the bell then Hogan is still champion; moments later, they said Hart should have been involved and challenged WCW to make the situation right; featured Bobby Heenan returning for the second hour in which he played off his involvement with “nWo Nitro” the previous week and said it was an act of bravery on his part and he should be welcomed back with open arms; included Okerlund interviewing JJ Dillon in the aisle in which Dillon said WCW World Champion Sting had agreed to defend the title later in the show against Hulk Hogan to resolve any controversy from the previous night’s match; later in the show, Bischoff interrupted another interview of Dillon by Okerlund, in which he accepted the challenge on behalf of Hogan; featured an in-ring promo by Scott Hall in which he said the nWo wasn’t going anywhere; Bill Ripkin, Cal Ripkin Jr.’s brother, of the Detroit Tigers was in attendance:
Bill Goldberg pinned Glacier at 1:00 with the Jackhammer; prior to the bout, Raven’s Flock was shown sitting ringside
Chris Benoit defeated Hammer via disqualification at 1:54 when the Flock attacked Benoit as Hammer was caught in the Crippler Crossface; prior to the bout, Raven cut a promo in the crowd, surrounded by the Flock, saying if Benoit wanted a beating week after week then he would give him one; as Benoit came out to the ring, he jumped into the crowd after Raven and was beaten down by the Flock before they tossed him into the asile; after the match, Steve McMichael helped make the save as Kidman, Saturn, Hammer, Sick Boy, and Lodi attacked Benoit
The Ultimo Dragon defeated WCW Cruiserweight Champion Eddie Guerrero via submission with the Dragon Sleeper to win the title at 1:26; prior to the bout, Guerrero attacked the challenger from behind as he made his way out to the ring; after the match, Guerrero threw Dragon to the floor
WCW US Champion Diamond Dallas Page pinned Mortis (w/ James Vandenburg) with the Diamond Cutter at 3:50 after avoiding the Flatliner; prior to the bout, DDP was escorted out to the stage by Kimberly; after the match, DDP knocked Vandenburg off the apron and celebrated in the crowd
Booker T pinned WCW TV Champion Disco Inferno to win the title at 6:54 with the Harlem Hangover; after the bout, Stevie Ray came out and celebrated with the new champion
Curt Hennig (w/ Rick Rude) pinned Chris Jericho at 3:33 with the Hennig Plex after lifting his knees to block a Lionsault; after the bout, Jericho threw a tantrum at ringside and repeatedly slammed a steel chair against the ringpost
Lex Luger defeated Buff Bagwell (w/ Scott Norton) via submission at 3:01 with the Torture Rack after knocking Norton off the apron; prior to the bout, Bagwell cut an in-ring promo saying Luger couldn’t beat him; after the bout, Luger said Randy Savage was next on his list
WCW World Champion Sting fought Hulk Hogan to a no contest; only 5:46 of the match was shown; the broadcast ended just as Hogan pulled referee Randy Anderson into a Stinger Splash in the corner
