WCW World Champion the Giant & Kevin Sullivan (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeated Arn Anderson & Chris Benoit at 8:01 when Giant pinned Anderson with the chokeslam; stipulations stated the Horsemen would receive a world title shot the following night on Monday Nitro if they won; early in the bout, Steve McMichael attacked the Giant from behind with the Halliburton until Giant chased him backstage; late in the match, Benoit and Sullivan battled their way to the commentary position; after the contest, Benoit and Sullivan continued to fight until Woman came out to try to get Benoit to stop; moments later, the Giant and Hart returned to the ring, with Benoit, Anderson, and Woman then leaving ringside; the Giant then carried Sullivan backstage
Sting, WCW TV Champion Lex Luger, & Randy Savage fought Kevin Nash & Scott Hall to a no contest at around the 17-minute mark when Hulk Hogan appeared, scared Hall & Nash from the ring, and then hit the legdrop on Savage three times, signaling his allignment with them; Luger was taken backstage on a stretcher at the 3-minute mark after his neck was laid across the top turnbuckle and he accidentally sustained a Stinger Splash; prior to the match, Gene Okerlund came out and interviewed Hall & Nash about their mystery third partner, with both men only saying that the third man was in the building; after the bout, a fan attempted to get in the ring but was kicked out by Hall & Nash, with security then attending to the man; moments later, Gene Okerlund conducted an in-ring interview with Hogan, alongside Hall & Nash, during which fans littered the ring with trash; during the segment, Hogan coined the name New World Order to describe the trio of he, Hall, and Nash and said the trash thrown in the ring represents the fans that disrespected him (nWo: Back in Black, WCW Fan Favorites)

Pay-per-view bouts – featured an opening video in which Ernest Miller was confronted outside the arean by the Jung Dragons, with the Dragons attacking Miller and him comically fighting them off; included Tony Schiavone, Mark Madden, & Scott Hudson on commentary; the first several minutes of the broadcast featured the Spanish commentary instead of the English commentary; featured a backstage segment with Miller and the Dragons, during which WCW World Champion Jeff Jarrett interrupted and demanded to know where Hulk Hogan was; Jarrett had with him a fat opera singer; included an ad promoting New Blood Rising; featured Gene Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Kevin Nash regarding his upcoming match against Bill Goldberg for possession of Scott Hall’s contract; included a backstage segment with Miller in which the Dragons were shown hiding on either side of him; featured a backstage segment with Miller in his office, with Jarrett and his singer interrupting again and demanding to see Hogan; moments later, Miller was attacked by the Dragons; included Pamela Paulshock conducting a backstage interview with Mike Awesome regarding his upcoming match against WCW US Champion Scott Steiner; featured Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Shane Douglas regarding his upcoming match with Buff Bagwell; included Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Jarrett regarding his upcoming title match with Hogan; featured an in-ring promo by Vampiro in which he bragged about getting rid of Sting and the Demon; moments later, a half dozen druids wearing Sting masks brought a casket to ringside; when it opened, someone appearing to be Sting came out, assaulted Vampiro, and stuffed him in the casket while Sting’s theme music played; included Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Goldberg regarding his upcoming match with Nash; featured an in-ring promo by Vince Russo regarding the earlier match between Hogan and Jarrett and said he was tired of the “bullshit” regarding backstage politics and that he had a family and didn’t have to come back to WCW but did for the likes of Booker T, MIA, the Filthy Animals, and Jarrett; Russo then said Hogan didn’t give “a shit” about WCW and only came to get the belt back; Russo then said the fans would never see Hogan again and that the fans wouldn’t be ripped off; Russo then said Hogan’s belt was the Hulk Hogan Memorial belt and that it “didn’t mean shit;” he continued by saying Jarrett would defend the title later in the night against Booker T, who he noted had busted his ass for 14 years without a break; included Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Booker regarding his upcoming WCW World Title match against Jarrett:
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Juventud Guerrera with the tornado DDT at 12:09; prior to the bout, Guerrero was escorted to the ring by Gen. Rection, Major Gunns, Hammer, and Lash LeRoux while Guerrera was escorted to the ring by Konnan, Disco Inferno, Tygress, and WCW Tag Team Champion Rey Mysterio Jr.; the Filthy Animals returned ringside mid-way through the match, wearing masks to hide their identity, but were again sent backstage; late in the bout, the Misfits in Action came out of the crowd wearing masks as well; after the contest, Guerrero regained possession of the title belt, which Guerrera had stolen from him
WCW Hardcore Champion Big Vito defeated Norman Smiley & Ralphus (mystery opponents) in a handicap match at 5:55 by pinning Ralphus with a splash off the top through a table set up in the ring
Daffney defeated Miss Hancock (w/ David Flair) in an wedding gown match at 4:16 when Hancock posed and disrobed to her music to distract Daffney & Crowbar from shaving Flair’s head; Crowbar appeared late in the match to counter Flair’s interference; after the bout, several of the participants had wedding cake, positioned at ringside, shoved in their face before Flair & Hancock retreated backstage; following the segment, the commentary team had to spend several minutes talking about the night’s main events as the ring crew cleaned up the mess around ringside
Kronik defeated WCW Tag Team Champions Shawn Stasiak & Chuck Palumbo to win the titles at 13:36 when Brian Adams pinned Stasiak following a powerbomb / clothesline off the top double team
Kanyon pinned Booker T at 10:06 with a Diamond Cutter off the top after Jeff Jarrett came out behind the referee’s back and broke a guitar over Booker’s head
Mike Awesome defeated WCW US Champion Scott Steiner (w/ Madajah) via disqualification at 9:10 when Ernest Miller, who appeared ringside mid-way through the match, told the referee to stop the match and strip Steiner of the title when the champion applied the Steiner Recliner; after the bout, Steiner attacked Miller outside the ring and laid out Awesome in the ring
Vampiro defeated the Demon (w/ Asya) in a graveyard match at 7:30 after breaking a tombstone over Demon’s head, locking him in a casket, and pushing the casket into an open grave; Vampiro then threw a torch into the grave and walked away; stipulations stated the winner would be the first man to return to the arena
Shane Douglas defeated Buff Bagwell at 7:54 with the Franchiser after Bagwell shoved an interfering Torrie Wilson off the apron; Torrie appeared ringside mid-way through the bout and appeared to side with Bagwell before turning on him late in the match (the debut of the Franchiser move)
Hulk Hogan pinned WCW World Champion Jeff Jarrett (w/ Vince Russo) to win the title at the 19-second mark; prior to the bout, Jarrett’s music played for over a minute until Vince Russo appeared, with Jarrett coming out moments later; following the ring introductions, Jarrett stood at the entranceway as Hogan cut a promo on him; upon the bell ringing, Jarrett immediately laid down, with Russo holding up the title belt up to taunt Hogan; after Russo left ringside, Hogan grabbed a mic and said Russo was the reason WCW was in the bad shape it was, “because of bullshit like this;” after the bout, Jarrett immediately left ringside (Hogan’s last appearance)
Bill Goldberg pinned Kevin Nash at 5:29 with the spear and Jackhammer after Nash knocked an interfering Scott Steiner to the floor; stipulations stated Scott Hall could come back to WCW if Nash won; prior to the bout, Goldberg appeared with Hall’s contract in his tights, then left it at the commentary table; moments later, Nash went to the floor, looked over the contract, and then left it at the table; early in the bout, Scott Steiner & Madajah appeared to cheer on Nash, only for Steiner to turn on Nash as he set Goldberg up for the powerbomb; after the contest, Goldberg ripped up Hall’s contract, with Steiner then putting Nash in the Steiner Recliner; moments later, Goldberg, Steiner, and Madajah left ringside together
Booker T pinned WCW World Champion Jeff Jarrett at 13:40 after catching Jarrett coming off the top with the guitar and hitting the Book End; late in the match, Jarrett dropped referee Billy Silverman with the Stroke, with a second referee coming in to make the pinfall (The History of the World Heavyweight Championship)
