NXT – featured an opening segment at the entrance stage with Matt Striker and the NXT rookies in which Striker spoke about the newly released pro poll rankings before speaking with #5 David Otunga about his actions the previous night on Raw, with Otunga saying he walked out on WWE World Champion John Cena because he didn’t want to share in the glory with someone else; Striker then questioned Daniel Bryan on whether he deserved to be ranked #1, with Bryan questioning whether Michael Cole deserved to replace Jim Ross, then admitted he didn’t deserve to be #1 but he would continue to work hard; Striker then asked #7 Michael Tarver about Bryan’s ranking, with Tarver saying he was done following the rules and he was the most dangerous man in NXT; Striker then said the rookies would have to carry a keg around ringside as their next competition; Slater eventually won with 12.0 seconds; after the competition, Striker announced that Slater’s victory was a main event spot for later in the show; Kane then appeared and confronted Slater regarding their match later in the show; included a “Did you know?” graphic which read that “WrestleMania” was the #1 searched word on Google on WrestleMania Sunday; featured Striker conducting a backstage interview with Skip Sheffield regarding the keg competition, during which Sheffield said he was done being a nice guy; included an ad promoting “Hart & Soul: The Hart Family Anthology”:

WWE Superstars – 4/8/10: Beth Phoenix pinned Layla (w/ WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool & Vickie Guerrero) at 3:31 with the Glam Slam; prior to the match, Vickie introduced McCool in the ring; moments later, McCool & Layla said Phoenix was a man and that’s why she hasn’t gotten a title shot; Vickie then thanked McCool & Layla for bringing that to her attention, then said the following match was an intergender bout; Todd Grisham & Matt Striker provided commentary for the match; after the contest, Vickie grabbed Phoenix, distracting her long enough for McCool to attack her from behind; eventually, Phoenix threw McCool to the floor and chased the three from ringside
Smackdown! – 4/9/10 – featured a backstage segment with Chris Jericho and Wade Barrett in which Jericho argued he should still be World Heavyweight Champion; moments later, World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger walked in, with Jericho trying to physically take the belt away and saying Swagger wasn’t the true champion; included an in-ring promo by Shad Gaspard in which he discussed attacking JTG the previous week, then saying the crowd should be more like him and stand up for what they want in life; moments later, JTG ran out, with Shad sliding out to the floor; as JTG joined him on the floor, Shad immediately kicked him in the face and laid him out; featured an in-ring segment with CM Punk, Serena, Luke Gallows, and Darren Young in which Punk, Serena, & Gallows preached Straight Edge to the audience, with Punk then saying he saw lonliness in Young’s eyes and noted he was last in the NXT rankings; Punk then said he could save Young by cutting his hair and having him join the Straight Edge Society; Young intially agreed but then changed his mind, with Young then being triple teamed until Punk grabbed the cutting shears; Rey Mysterio Jr. then ran out, beat Punk to the shears, and attempted to cut Punk’s hair until he was pulled to safety by Gallows; Mysterio then grabbed the mic and accepted Punk’s challenge to a rematch at Extreme Rules, with Punk’s hair at stake; included an ad promoting “Hart & Soul: The Hart Family Anthology;” featured Josh Matthews conducting a backstage interview with Dolph Ziggler in which he asked Ziggler how it felt to put the Great Khali to sleep as he did the previous week, with Ziggler then putting Matthews in the hold, putting him to sleep, and walking off; included a backstage segment with Swagger and Edge in which Swagger said, if the two were to meet at Extreme Rules, he would put Edge back on the injured list; Edge replied by saying he would hit Swagger with the spear and win the title; featured a “Did you know?” graphic which read more than 5,000 schools and libraries in the US, Canada, and the UK were involved in the WrestleMania Reading Challenge:
World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger pinned John Morrison in a non-title match at around the 11-minute mark with the gutwrench powerbomb after sweeping Morrison off the apron to the floor; prior to the bout, Swagger cut an in-ring promo saying he deserved to be champion and was now the best natural athlete in the WWE, following Shawn Michaels’ retirement; after Swagger said there was no one in the WWE that could stop his momentum, Morrison came out and said Swagger had the belt but had done nothing to be a champion, noting he lost to Randy Orton earlier in the week on Raw; Swagger replied by saying Morrison was bitter because he was living in the shadow of WWE US Champion & WWE Unified Tag Team Champion Mike Mizanin; the match was stopped mid-way through after Swagger suffered an accidental cut to his face (the bout began during the commercial break)
WWE IC Champion Drew McIntyre pinned Matt Hardy in a non-title match at 10:17 after ramming Hardy face-first into the metal grading under the ring and following with the Future Shock DDT on the floor; prior to the bout, McIntyre grabbed the mic but, after several moments, said he wouldn’t waste his breath on the fans

World Heavyweight Champion Edge & Christian defeated Alberto Del Rio & Brodus Clay at 8:16 when Edge pinned Clay with the spear; Ricardo Rodriguez served as the ring announcer for Del Rio & Clay; after the bout, Edge chased Del Rio backstage after he applied the armbreaker on Christian, only for Del Rio to then attack Edge from behind and apply the hold on him
Santino Marella (w/ the Big Show, Kane, Vladimir Kozlov, & Tamina) pinned WWE Tag Team Champion Justin Gabriel (w/ WWE IC Champion Wade Barrett, WWE Tag Team Champion Heath Slater, & Ezekiel Jackson) at 1:53 when Marella pinned Gabriel with the Cobra; prior to the bout, it was announced the Corre would face Marella, Kozlov, Show, & Kane at WrestleMania; after the contest, both Kane and Show did the Marella trumpet playing dance in the ring

Dolph Ziggler (w/ Vickie Guerrero) & WWE US Champion Sheamus defeated John Morrison & Daniel Bryan at 6:15 when Sheamus pinned Bryan with the crucifix powerbomb; prior to the bout, Vickie came out to Morrison’s music and cut an in-ring promo saying what she did to Morrison is what LayCool would do to Snooki at WrestleMania; during the entrances, it was announced the WrestleMania press conference would be held Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match, 2-1, at the 23-minute mark; Sheamus came to the ring wearing a T-shirt which read “18 Seconds;” Bryan was cheered upon his entrance and Sheamus received a mixed reaction; fall #1: Sheamus defeated Bryan via disqualification at the 15-minute mark when he repeatedly kicked Sheamus in the arm as the champion was against the ropes; fall #2: Bryan defeated Sheamus via TKO at the 17-minute mark when the champion passed out while caught in the Yes Lock, after being in the hold roughly a minute; after the fall, Sheamus was tended to by two trainers and the referee as the crowd gave dueling chants of “Yes” and “No;” fall #3: Sheamus pinned Bryan with the boot to the face

Heath Slater & Titus O’Neil (w/ Hornswoggle as a little alligator) defeated Los Matadores (w/ El Torito) at 2:06 when Slater scored the pin by yanking one of the opponents off the top, moments after Torito and the alligator fought in the ring; prior to the match, Jesse Jackson was shown in attendance; Adam Rose, with the Exotic Express, provided guest commentary; after the match, Torito was attacked until Rose and his Bunny stepped onto the apron, with the Bunny then hitting a splash off the top onto Slater
