Jay Briscoe defeated Austin Aries and Jimmy Jacobs in an impromptu match by pinning Jacobs with a roll up at 8:44 after Jacobs dropped Aries with a spear; prior to the bout, Kyle Durden conducted an in-ring promo with Aries regarding his new behavior, with Aries telling the fans he didn’t owe them any explanation and they were fickle for overlooking him to jump on someone else’s badnwagon; as the crowd chanted “Tyler Black,” Aries referred to the fans as “sheeple” and noted the fans cheered every second of his blood feud with Jacobs because they didn’t care about either man; he said he was only wrestling for himself and has a been a star longer then most of the wrestlers have been in the locker room; Aries went on to take the mic from Durden and said he found his satisfaction in bashing a chair over Black’s head and then said he was the #1 contender but he never said he was going to use his title shot on a “B show” in Edison, NJ; he then said he would use his title shot whenever he wanted to, then decked Durden; Black then interrupted to chants of “Next world champ,” and said he knew he was already scheduled to face Jacobs later in the night but, if Aries wasn’t going to use his title shot, he wanted the shot in Aries’ spot; Black then said he had a score to settle with Aries, with Jacobs jumping Black from behind; Aries and Jacobs then double teamed Black before Briscoe ran out to make the save; Briscoe then took the mic, said Aries looked like a pervert, and said he would face any or all of the other men; ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness provided commentary for the match; after Briscoe left ringside, Jacobs spat his gum at Aries, who picked it up and put it in his own mouth before leaving the ring; moments later, Cary Silkin informed the ring announcer that Black would challenge McGuinness later in the show
Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards (w/ Larry Sweeney & Shane Hagadorn) defeated Roderick Strong & Erick Stevens in a lumberjack strap match at 10:31 when Edwards pinned Stevens after hitting him with a steel chair behind the referee’s back, moments after Brent Albright chased an interfering Sweeney backstage; prior to the ring introductions, Prince Nana came out to be a lumberjack but was eventually ejected by referees and security; lumberjacks for the match included Rhett Titus, Ernie Osiris, and several unknowns; Bobby Dempsey also escorted Richards & Edwards to the ring before the match and then returned backstage before the bout began
Grizzly Redwood fought Chris Escobar to a no contest when Bison Smith interfered at 2:56 and dropped both men with a double back suplex, then attacked each man individually; prior to the bout, Redwood offered his hand to Escobar, who used it to apply a headlock to start the match; after the match, Smith press slammed Smith into the corner, dropped Escobar with a chokeslam, and hit the Styles Clash on Redwood onto Escobar
Jerry Lynn pinned Bryan Danielson at 16:37 with a clothesline and the cradle piledriver; prior to the bout, footage was shown from their match at All Star Extravaganza IV on 12/26/08, which Danielson won; following the ring entrances, the two shook hands; following the bout, a frustrated Danielson backed away from Lynn and went to leave the ring but then shook Lynn’s hand
Tyler Black fought ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness to a 60-minute time-limit draw at 48:11; the crowd chanted “Next world champ” during Black’s entrance; the two shook hands to start the match, with the champion then jumping Black from behind; early in the bout, McGuinness took the mic on the floor, complained of a torn bicep, noted he had already beaten Black and went to walk out of the contest until he was stopped by Bryan Danielson, who noted his own injuries as champion and told McGuinness to get back in the ring or he would kill him; at the 24-minute mark, Black was helped backstage after sustaining an injury until he eventually came back to the ring after McGuinness took the mic and told him to go backstage and keep what was left of his career; at the 30-minute mark, Austin Aries and Jimmy Jacobs attacked the challenger on the floor as the referee was down, with Jerry Lynn then dropping the champion with the cradle piledriver in the ring; moments later, Jay Briscoe, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards, Roderick Strong, Brent Albright, and Erick Stevens joined the brawl, with Bryan Danielson then coming out with a mic and telling everyone else to go backstage because this was a ROH World Title match; Danielson too became involved in the brawl, with the wrestlers continuing their fight into the crowd as the ring announcer noted the match had been ruled to continue; the time limit expired as Black went to cover the champion following the superkick; after the bout, the crowd chanted “5 more minutes” before then “Bullshit;” moments later, Black took the mic and asked Cary Silkin for 5 more minutes; McGuinness then told Black to kiss his ass, and left the ring; the ring announcer did not note the remaining time before the bell rang
