Greg Valentine defeated John Bonello; after the bout, David Crockett conducted an interview with Valentine about his rivalry with NWA US Champion Dick Slater and NWA Tag Team Champion Bob Orton Jr., with Valentine referring to Slater as ‘Dirty Dick’ and Orton as Slater’s stooge
The Assassins (w/ Paul Jones) defeated Bubba Smith & Sam Houston at 4:20 when Houston was pinned after a kneedrop off the top; Jones carried a bag with him for the match that contained Jimmy Valiant’s beard, which was cut two weeks earlier; during the bout, an insert promo by Dusty Rhodes aired in which he said he was coming to help Jimmy Valiant against Paul Jones; after the contest, Bob Caudle conducted an interview with Jones in which they reviewed footage of Jones cutting the beard of Valiant; as Jones insulted Valiant, Valiant ran out and jumped him before Jones was pulled away by the Assassins; moments later, Valiant took the mic and said he would take Jones’ hair

1/21/84 – featured David Crockett & Johnny Weaver on commentary; included Crockett conducting an interview with NWA US Champion Dick Slater in which he bragged about beating NWA World Champion Ric Flair and said he should now be the rightful champion; featured a promo by Flair about Slater’s comments earlier in the broadcast in which he said he was the real champion and not Slater; included Crockett conducting an interview with Gary Hart, Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Ivan Koloff, and Ernie Ladd in which they talked about their success in the early part of 1984, congratulated the title wins by NWA Tag Team Champions Bob Orton Jr. & Don Kernodle and Slater; Koloff then said his new friends had bencome honorary citizens of Russia; Ladd went on to say he would take out the likes of Rufus R. Jones, Angelo Mosca & Angelo Mosca Jr.; featured Tony Schiavone conducting an interview with Mid-Atlantic TV Champion Charlie Brown in which he said he didn’t have the time to defend the title because he was going to be helping Jimmy Valiant against Paul Jones and his men; Brown then said he was vacating the title and a tournament would determine the new champion; included a promo by Dusty Rhodes in which he said he was coming to help Valiant against Jones and his men; featured Crockett, in possession of the TV title, conducting an interview with Jay & Mark Youngblood about Jay’s recovering from injury and Mark potentially entering the title tournament; Jay then sent a message to Orton & Kernodle and told them his cast comes off the next day; Crockett then spoke with Mosca & Mosca Jr. about facing Hart’s men:

NWA World Champion Ric Flair defeated NWA US Champion Dick Slater via reverse decision; Slater originally won the match and title at 3:31 with an elbow to the back of the head and elbow drop, with NWA Tag Team Champion Bob Orton Jr., who appeared late in the bout, then holding down Flair’s foot from the floor; moments later, referee Tommy Young came out and told referee Sonny Fargo what happened; Jay Youngblood then came out to help Flair but was beaten down as well; moments later, Wahoo McDaniel helped clear the ring for Flair and Youngblood

Angelo Mosca Sr. & Jr. defeated Bill White & Tony Russo at 5:34 when Jr. pinned Russo with a crossbody 1/28/84 – hosted by David Crockett & Johnny Weaver; included the announcement by Crockett, in possession of the NWA TV Title, in which he said the title tournament was down to 8 wrestlers and quarter-final pairings included Mark Youngblood vs. Barry Orton, Weaver vs. Assassin #2, Dory Funk Jr. vs. NWA US Champion Dick Slater, and Greg Valentine vs. Ernie Ladd; featured Crockett conducting an interview with Slater in which he noted his Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title win, NWA US Title win, and said he would be the next NWA TV champion; Slater then showed off flyers that he made recoginzing himself as the new NWA World Champion and reviewed footage of how he beat NWA World Champion Ric Flair weeks earlier after interference from NWA Tag Team Champion Bob Orton Jr.; he went on to say he would give Flair a chance to win back the championship and planned to vacate the TV title as soon as he wins the tournament; included Crockett conducting an interview with Angelo Mosca & Mosca Jr. about Mosca Jr.’s bout with Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Ivan Koloff earlier in the broadcast; Crockett then presented Jr. with his 1983 Rookie of the Year Award from Pro Wrestling Illustrated; moments later, Koloff interrupted and said Jr. wouldn’t get another chance at the title, punched Mosca, and then attacked Jr. with his own PWI award; Mosca then yelled, “Koloff, you’re going to pay for this!” after Koloff returned backstage; featured Crockett conducting an interview with Funk about being part of the TV title tournament, facing Slater in the quarter-finals, and supporting Valaint against Jones and the Assassins; moments later, Valiant joined them with a fishing net and described how he would use the net to catch Jones and cut his hair:

Angelo Mosca Jr. fought Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Ivan Koloff (w/ Gary Hart) to a 10-minute time-limit draw; during the bout, it was noted Koloff had a choice to defend his title against either Mosca or Mosca Jr. and had chosen Jr.; the match ended just as Mosca was reversing an abdominal stretch

2/11/84 – hosted by David Crockett & Johnny Valentine; featured a pre-taped promo by NWA US Champion Dick Slater in which he said NWA World Champion Ric Flair was only impersonating the real world champion, which was himself; included Crockett conducting an interview with Ivan Koloff, NWA Tag Team Champions Don Kernodle & Bob Orton Jr., with Kernodle & Orton presenting Koloff with an American flag from them and Gary Hart and said they wanted to make him an honorary American; Koloff then said it was a great honor to receive their gift and said he would regain the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title from Angelo Mosca Jr., and compared Mosca Jr. to a dog he kicked as a child; featured Crockett conducting an interview with Greg Valentine about his advancing in the NWA TV Title tournament, with Valentine wishing Dory Funk Jr. well against NWA US Champion Dick Slater in the quarter-finals and the potential of facing Slater in the semi-finals; after Valentine left, Crockett spoke with Wahoo McDaniel about he and Mark Youngblood challenging Orton & Kernodle; after Youngblood joined them, he spoke just a few words before Jimmy Valiant and Funk came out, with Valiant holding Paul Jones’ pants, coat, and shoe; Valiant claimed he stripped Jones down to his underwear, found the brass knuckles Jones had hidden in his pants, and claimed he would shave Jones bald; Valiant’s theme music played throughout his promo:

NWA US Champion Dick Slater pinned Tim Horner at 5:37 with his feet on the ropes after reversing a headlock into a back suplex from the middle turnbuckle; during the bout, Mark Youngblood and Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Angelo Mosca Jr. were shown signing autographs in the crowd; later in the bout, David Crockett said a ringside photographer (Bill Apter, not named) was from the leading wrestling magazine, which spoke to the importance of the match
Jimmy Valiant & Dory Funk Jr. defeated Assassin #1 & #2 (w/ Paul Jones) via disqualification at 6:58 when Jones climbed in the ring and hit Funk with his shoe as Funk had one Assassin in the spinning toe hold as Valiant had the other in an abdominal stretch; during the bout, Bob Caudle’s commentary of the match for another broadcast could be heard underneath the commentary team’s voices; the Assassins initially won the match at 6:08 when, as Valiant had one Assassin in the sleeper, the other came off the top rope with an axe handle, switched places with his partner, and made the cover; after the pinfall, Mark Youngblood came to the ring and told referee Tommy Young what happened, with Young calling for the match to continue; after the contest, Valiant grabbed the shoe and chased Jones out of the building; moments later, Rufus R. Jones came out and aided Funk in attacking the Assassins

Angelo Mosca & Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Angelo Mosca Jr. defeated Hans Schroeder & Gary Royal at 5:18 when Jr. pinned Royal with the crossbody off the top; prior to the bout, footage was shown of how Jr. won the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title against Ivan Koloff 2/15/84; Rockingham, NC; Richmond High School
2/18/84 – hosted by David Crockett & Johnny Weaver; included Crockett conducting an interview with Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Angelo Mosca Jr. about the challenge of Ivan Koloff and potentially teaming with his father against NWA Tag Team Champions Bob Orton Jr. & Don Kernodle; moments later, Crockett spoke with Rufus R. Jones about Ernie Ladd and Gary Hart; featured a video package showing Jimmy Valiant sitting on the sidwalk playing a harmonica before talking about Jones and the Assassins shaving his beard, with Valiant then saying he would put up his own hair the Assassins’ masks; moments later, a driver pulled up and opened a door for Valiant to get in the back; a street woman then walked up to the window and asked where Valiant was going, with Valiant saying ‘The Boogie Man Jam ’84;’ the woman then climbed in the car with him and the car drove off; blues music played throughout the segment until the car pulled up, with the music then changing to Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat It;’ included Tony Schiavone conducting an interview with Ricky Steamboat at his gym about tips for working out the upper body, with Steamboat’s wife Susan demonstrating as Steamboat narrated; moments later, Jim Crockett Jr. walked in and said Steamboat had accomplished everything aside from gaining the world heavyweight title; Crockett then presented Steamboat with a contract to face NWA World Champion Ric Flair on March 17, already signed by Flair, and a check for $10,000 if Steamboat signed the contract within 24 hours; Steamboat replied that he had to retire to devote more time to his business but it was a lot of money and he would have to talk it over with his wife and think about the offer; featured Crockett conducting an interview with Gary Hart and Koloff in which Hart said he would have the Great Kabuki the following week and Koloff saying he would take the Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title from Mosca Jr.; moments later, Crockett spoke with Jones and the Assassins about Valiant’s challenge to put his hair against the mask of one of the Assassins; Assassin #1 then said if Valaint felt low then he would feel even worse when they take his hair:

Jones came out, shoved Ladd off the top, and then knocked him to the floor

2/25/84 – hosted by David Crockett & Johnny Weaver; included footage of Tony Schiavone conducting an interview with Ricky Steamboat, at his home with his wife Susan, 24 hours after Jim Crockett Jr. offered him a contract to face NWA World Champion Ric Flair March 17 in Greensboro and a $10,000 incentive to sign within 24 hours; Steamboat said he thought about the decision and said he had nothing to lose and would accept the title match; he then signed the contract and said it would be a pleasure to face Flair one more time for the title; featured Crockett conducting an interview with Dory Funk Jr. in which they reviewed footage of NWA US Champion Dick Slater recently pinning Flair in a non-title match as well as Slater beating Funk the previous week on TV; Funk then made the claim that Slater grabbed Flair’s tights in that match just as he had done in Funk’s match and Flair could beat Slater any day; moments later, Wahoo McDaniel joined them and said Flair is the rightful champion, not Slater, and discussed the arrivals of the Junkyard Dog and the Road Warriors; included the same vignette of Jimmy Valiant from the previous week; featured Crockett conducting an interview with JYD about helping Valiant against Jones and the Assassins; JYD then noted his home was Waynesboro, NC and was glad to be in the territory; George Clintonn’s ‘Atomic Dog’ played in the area during the interview; included Crockett conducting an interview with Jones and the Assassins in which Assassin #1 said Valiant belonged in the gutter and he would go back there without his hair; Jones then said he was glad about their upcoming showdown with Valiant and said Valiant could bring Dusty Rhodes because Valiant would be bald regardless:

NWA Tag Team Champions Bob Orton Jr. & Don Kernodle (w/ Gary Hart) defeated Tim Horner & Vinnie Valentino at 2:58 when Kernodle pinned Valentino after coming off the top with a knee as Orton held Valentino over his own knee
The Great Kabuki (w/ Gary Hart) pinned Brickhouse Brown at 5:40 with a chop from the middle turnbuckle
Tully Blanchard pinned Sam Houston with the slingshot suplex at 4:54; during the bout, Paul Jones joined the commentary team and said he was considering signing Blanchard, and then left to watch the match closer 2/29/84; Winston-Salem, NC; Memorial Coliseum

Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Angelo Mosca Jr. defeated Ivan Koloff (w/ Gary Hart) via disqualification when the Great Kabuki attacked Mosca, moments after Mosca punched Hart off the apron but then failed a crossbody off the top attempt; after the match, Khabuki held Mosca Jr. for Koloff to assault him with his chain; Angelo Mosca Sr. then came out to make the save but Kabuki sprayed green mist in his face; Koloff hit the driving knee to the back to Mosca Sr. and attempted another before Jr. took the chain and cleared the ring to make the save; moments later, David Crockett conducted an interview with the Moscas, with Jr. saying 20 percent of his father’s sight had been taken; Sr., wearing an eye patch and with the chain, yelled that he and Jr. would get payback on Hart, Koloff, and Kabuki (the bout was joined several minutes in progress)
