– 7/1/91: WCW World Champion Ric Flair was fired by Jim Herd. His contract was terminated effective August 1. The termination came following contract negotiations between Flair and WCW in which he was offered an extension with a massive pay cut that would have had him earning $350,000 per year, less than Sting and Lex Luger.

– WCW US Champion Lex Luger pinned Barry Windham in a steel cage match with a knee to the back and a piledriver at 12:24, moments after Harley Race & Mr. Hughes appeared ringside and Race spoke to Luger from ringside; due to pre-match stipulations, Luger won the vacant WCW World Title; following the entrances and during the contest the fans frequently chanted “We want Flair” and “Nature Boy;” after the contest, Luger, Race, & Hughes left ringside together (the debut of a new WCW World title belt)
– Sting pinned WCW World Champion Lex Luger (w/ Harley Race) to win the title with a crossbody off the top at 13:01 after fighting off an interfering Race on the floor (Luger’s last appearance for nearly 4 years)

– Hulk Hogan (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned WCW World Champion Ric Flair (w/ Sensuous Sherri) to win the title at 21:54 with the legdrop, moments after Mr. T sent an interfering Sherri backstage; after the bout, Hogan celebrated in the ring with Mr. T and Shaquille O’Neal (Hogan’s WCW in-ring debut)
– 10/30/95: Jimmy Hart announced that the Giant was the new WCW World Champion following his disqualification win over Hulk Hogan the night before, with Hart revealing he added a stipulation to the match that said the title would change hands were Hogan to lose via disqualification. Following the announcement by Hart, WCW declared the championship vacant.

– Randy Savage pinned WCW World Champion Ric Flair (w/ Jimmy Hart) to win the title at 8:35 with the flying elbowsmash after Arn Anderson appeared and accidentally hit the champion with a pair of brass knuckles, with Hulk Hogan then appearing, pulling Anderson off the apron, and fighting with him as Savage scored the pin; prior to the bout, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview with Savage in the aisle in which Hogan interrupted and said if Savage won the title then he wanted the first shot; during the ring entrances, it was announced Elizabeth and Kevin Greene would be in Hogan & Savage’s corner the following night at the Clash of the Champions; during the match, it was announced the Road Warriors would return to WCW by also appearing at the Clash; prior to the contest, Savage was escorted to the ring by several women, including Woman, Linda Bollea, Debra McMichael, and others; early in the bout, Flair attempted to dance with Woman at ringside until she slapped him across the face; of the women in Savage’s corner, only Woman was referred to by name; after the contest, Okerlund conducted an in-ring interview with Savage and Hogan in which Hogan again challenged Savage to a title shot; Savage said that would have to be decided by WCW President Nick Bockwinkel but then said he wanted the match at Caesar’s Palace; Hogan was booed during the segment (Woman’s surprise return after a 5-year absence)

– Ric Flair (w/ Woman) pinned WCW World Champion Randy Savage (w/ Elizabeth) in a steel cage match at 18:54 to win the title after Flair hit the champion in the face with Elizabeth’s shoe after she opened the door and gave it to Flair as the referee was distracted by Woman after she tried to throw powder in Savage’s face; prior to the bout, Flair cut a promo offering Elizabeth one last chance to kiss him before he sends Savage to the hospital; the bell rang at 14:57 following a nearfall from Savage; after the bout, Hulk Hogan came out, chased Elizabeth and Woman around the ring, scared Flair from the ring, and hit Arn Anderson with a steel chair; as Hogan, the referee, and trainer helped Savage backstage there was a small chant of “Hogan sucks”
Monday Nitro – 4/29/96:
– The Giant (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned WCW World Champion Ric Flair (w/ Elizabeth and Woman) to win the title at 5:49 with the chokeslam after putting a choke on Flair as the challenger was caught in the figure-4; prior to the bout, Flair confronted Debra McMichael who sat ringside for the show; Randy Savage’s name plate was still shown on the title belt, with the commentary team saying Flair kept it there as a message to Savage; after the match, Okerlund interviewed the new champion, with Hart, in the ring as Flair was helped backstage, with the Giant saying the belt belonged to him since Halloween Havoc and challenged Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Savage to face him for the title; as the show went off the air, it was announced the previously scheduled match between Sting and the Giant at Slamboree would now be a title match

– Lex Luger defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan to win the title via submission with the Torture Rack at around the 11-minute mark after fighting off an interfering Randy Savage and WCW Tag Team Champions Scott Hall & Kevin Nash; late in the bout, Luger kicked out of Hogan’s legdrop, prompting the New World Order to come ringside; after the match, Luger was congratulated in the ring by Rick & Scott Steiner, Diamond Dallas Page, Glacier, Ernest Miller, the Giant, Rey Mysterio Jr., the Barbarian, Stevie Richards, Nick Patrick, Dean Malenko, Prince Iaukea, Ted Dibiase, Joey Maggs, Chavo Guerrero Jr., WCW Cruiserweight Champion Alex Wright, High Voltage, and several others

– Sting pinned Hulk Hogan at 16:33 after Randy Savage interfered and hit Hogan with a foreign object as Sting fought off an interfering Buff Bagwell, Vincent, Konnan, and Brian Adams; Nick Patrick took over referee duties for the match mid-way through after Charles Robinson was knocked out; due to pre-match stipulations, Sting won the vacant WCW World Title; after the match, Sting spraypainted “WCW” on Hogan before JJ Dillon presented Sting with the world title belt

Randy Savage pinned WCW World Champion Sting to win the title in a No DQ match at 10:10 when Kevin Nash interfered and hit the powerbomb on Sting before placing Savage on top; late in the bout, Elizabeth – who was in Savage’s corner – was helped backstage after sustaining an accidental Stinger Splash from the champion; moments later, Hulk Hogan appeared and shoved Savage off the top as he attempted the flying elbowsmash on Sting; after the contest, Hulk Hogan and the Desciple appeared at the entrance way, with Hogan saying that was his belt and Nash would pay

– Nitro: Hulk Hogan (w/ the Disciple) pinned WCW World Champion Randy Savage to win the title in a No DQ match at 15:38; Savage’s right arm was heavily taped and he wore a knee brace on his right leg as a result of recent injuries; late in the bout, the Disciple dropped referee Nick Patrick with a neckbreaker and then helped Hogan double team the champion; moments later, Kevin Nash came out to make the save, with Eric Bischoff grabbing Nash by the leg; Hogan then attempted to hit Nash with the title belt but hit the Disciple instead, with Nash then laying out Bischoff and dropping Hogan with the powerbomb; Nash laid Savage on top and went to revive Patrick when Bret Hart appeared, knocked out Nash with the title belt, put Hogan on top of Savage and dragged Patrick over to make the count; Roddy Piper then appeared and confronted Hart in the ring, with Hart avoiding the issue until punching Piper in the face
– WCW US Champion Bill Goldberg pinned WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan to win the title with the spear and Jackhammer at 8:11 after Hogan became distracted by Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone at ringside, with Malone hitting the Diamond Cutter on Curt Hennig who had come ringside moments earlier

– Ric Flair pinned WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan at 14:18 with the figure-4 to win the title in a steel cage first blood match after Arn Anderson came ringside, jumped David Flair and Torrie Wilson, both of whom appeared mid-way through the bout, and handed Flair a tire iron to hit Hogan with; prior to the bout, Flair grabbed the mic and told referee Charles Robinson he didn’t want him stopping the bout because of a scratch and would leave it to Robinson’s discretion; Flair bled profusely from the forehead within the first 5 minutes but the match continued, with Hogan bleeding as well late in the match; despite Hogan being the heel and Flair the face, they worked opposite styles with Flair emerging as the heel; pre-match stipulations stated if Hogan won, Flair would be forced to retire; due to pre-match stipulations, Flair was named WCW President for life

– Sting defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan to win the title at 13:56 with the Scorpion Death Lock after Sting repeatedly hit Hogan with a baseball bat brought ringside by Lex Luger; following Hogan’s entrance, the two men shook hands; prior to the bout, Bret Hart appeared and briefly met with both men about wanting a title shot against the winner; late in the bout, Hogan hit the boot to the face and legdrop on the challenger but Diamond Dallas Page appeared, knocked down referee Nick Patrick, hit the Diamond Cutter on Hogan and then Patrick; moments later, Hart returned to clear Page from ringside; Hogan then cleared WCW US Champion Sid Vicious from the ring; Luger then appeared with the baseball bat, with Hogan cornering him until Sting came up from behind with the bat and assaulted Hogan before throwing the bat to Luger; after the contest, Sting and Luger left ringside together
– 10/25/99: The title was declared vacant one day after Sting lost to Bill Goldberg at Halloween Havoc in Las Vegas, NV in what Sting argued was a non-title match though Goldberg was announced as the new champion. JJ Dillon announced a 32-person tournament would determine the new champion. Prior to the finals, Bret Hart defeated Bill Goldberg, Perry Saturn, Billy Kidman, and Sting while Chris Benoit defeated Dean Malenko, Madusa, Scott Hall, and Jeff Jarrett.
– WCW World Title Tournament Finals: Bret Hart defeated Chris Benoit via submission with the Sharpshooter to win the title at 17:44 following a double leg pickup; Dean Malenko interfered at the 5-minute mark, dressed as the same Canadian fan who “attacked” him earlier in the show but was ejected; WCW US & TV Champion Scott Hall and Kevin Nash interfered at the 9-minute mark, with Bill Goldberg making the save and all three eventually brawling backstage; after the bout, Hart and Benoit hugged out of respect, with Hart then celebrating in the ring with his wife, kids, and Wayne Gretzky’s children

– Chris Benoit (sub. for WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart) defeated Sid Vicious via submission with the Crippler Crossface at 14:50 after avoiding a chokeslam; due to pre-match stipulations, Benoit won the vacated WCW World Heavyweight Title; Arn Anderson was the guest referee for the bout; moments prior to the finish, Sid hit the chokeslam but Anderson refused to make the 3-count since Benoit’s foot was underneath the bottom rope; during the Crossface, Sid’s foot was also underneath the rope but Anderson didn’t see it; during the bout, Perry Saturn, Asya, David Flair, the Mamalukes, Charles Robinson, Disco Inferno, Meng, Daffney, the Wall, Crowbar, Brian Knobs, Fit Finley, and several others watched on from the entranceway (Benoit’s last match in WCW before leaving the following day)

– Hulk Hogan pinned WCW World Champion Jeff Jarrett (w/ Vince Russo) to win the title at the 19-second mark; prior to the bout, Jarrett’s music played for over a minute until Vince Russo appeared, with Jarrett coming out moments later; following the ring introductions, Jarrett stood at the entranceway as Hogan cut a promo on him; upon the bell ringing, Jarrett immediately laid down, with Russo holding up the title belt up to taunt Hogan; after Russo left ringside, Hogan grabbed a mic and said Russo was the reason WCW was in the bad shape it was, “because of bullshit like this;” after the bout, Jarrett immediately left ringside; later in the show, Russo said Jarrett would face Booker T to determine the real WCW World Champion (Hogan’s last appearance)
