Stan Hansen pinned NWA US Champion Lex Luger with the lariat at 9:29 to win the title as Luger attempted his own clothesline; prior to the bout, Hansen cut a pre-taped promo on the match; late in the contest, Dan Spivey appeared ringside and threw Hansen his cowbell to use as a weapon, with Luger quickly knocking it out of Hansen’s possession
NWA World Champion Sting pinned Sid Vicious at 12:36 with a Stinger Splash and inside cradle; Vicious originally won the match at 11:50 when Sting failed a bodyslam, with Sid falling on top for the win; fireworks were set off and balloons dropped from the rafters before the real Sting came out, revealing that the man in the ring – who replaced the champion moments earlier during a backstage brawl with Sid – was in fact fellow Horseman Barry Windham; late in the match, Ric Flair and Arn Anderson appeared ringside to distract the referee as Sid and Sting battled their way backstage; after the bout, Jim Ross conducted a ringside interview with Sting regarding Vicious, the fake Sting, and the challenge of the Black Scorpion

WCW US Champion Sting, El Gigante, Rick & Scott Steiner defeated Big Van Vader (sub. for Barry Windham), Cactus Jack (sub. for Oz), Abdullah the Butcher, & the Diamond Studd in a Chamber of Horrors match at 12:36 when Cactus accidentally pulled the lever for the electric chair, moments after Rick belly to belly suplexed Abduallah into the chair; one of the “ghouls” at ringside was Bryan Clarke (the Nightstalker); after the contest, the ghouls attempted to take Abdullah out on a stretcher but he attacked them and Cactus (Vader’s TV return after a several month absence; Scott’s return after a 4-month absence)
Big Josh & PN News defeated the Creatures (Joey Maggs & Johnny Rich) at 5:16 when News scored the pin with the splash off the top, moments after Josh hit the sit-down splash; during their introduction, News rapped in the ring; during the match, Christine Valver was shown sitting ringside, the winner of a WCW Magazine PN News rap contest to win tickets
Bobby Eaton pinned Terrence Taylor (w/ Alexandra York) with the Alabama Jam at 16:39 after punching Taylor off the middle turnbuckle
Johnny B. Badd (w/ Teddy Long) pinned Jimmy Garvin (w/ Michael Hayes) at 8:26 with the left hand punch; Hayes had his right arm in a sling but was not legit injured; Hayes & Garvin wore Atlanta Braves ballcaps and a jacket to the ring; Garvin had his foot on the bottom rope during the cover but Long shoved it off; after the contest, Hayes punched Long in the ring

WCW/NWA Tag Team Champions Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes fought Steve Williams & Steve Austin (sub. for Terry Gordy) to a 30-minute time-limit draw at 30:28; Williams & Austin initially won the match and titles at 28:31 when Austin pinned Windham after a clothesline from Williams but Windham was not the legal man in the match and initial referee Randy Anderson changed the call by replacement referee Nick Patrick
WCW US Champion Rick Rude (w/ Madusa) defeated NWA World Champion Masahiro Chono via disqualification at 22:34; prior to the bout, Seiji Sakaguchi and Manabu Nakanishi were introduced in the crowd; following the introductions, Ole Anderson held a coin toss to determine which referee — Harley Race (Rude’s selection) or Kensuke Sasaki (Chono’s selection) — would be the inside and outside referee; Race won the toss to become the inside referee; during the contest, there were chants of “We want Flair” and repeated “Woooo”s; the match ended as Chono had Rude in the STF, with Sasaki asking Rude if he submitted as Race stopped the match for Chono tossing Rude over the top rope moments earlier, onto both Sasaki and Race; after the match, Sasaki fought off Race, knocked Rude to the floor, and then dropped Race with a suplex (Rude’s first appearance without a mustache)
WCW World Champion Ron Simmons pinned the Barbarian (w/ Cactus Jack) at 12:43 with the powerslam as the challenger attempted the boot to the face; prior to the bout, Simmons came to the ring with Teddy Long and a dozen or more security guards
Sting pinned Jake Roberts in a Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal Coal Miner’s Glove Match at 10:35 by punching Roberts with the glove, causing Roberts’ snake to bite Roberts in the face; Roberts’ snake bag was brought out moments earlier by Cactus Jack; after the bout, Cactus yelled for someone to help Roberts as Roberts crawled and staggered his way backstage (Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts: Pick Your Poison)

WCW US Champion Dustin Rhodes pinned Steve Austin at 14:24 with a roll up after Austin began looking for the title belt after thinking he had won the match with his feet on the ropes; after the bout, Austin busted Rhodes’ head open after hitting him with the title belt
The Nasty Boys (w/ Missy Hyatt) defeated WCW Tag Team Champions Marcus Alexander Bagwell & 2 Cold Scorpio (w/ Teddy Long) to win the titles at 14:41 when Brian Knobbs pinned Scorpio when, after Scorpio hit the 450 splash on Knobbs, Jerry Saggs hit Scorpio over the head with his boot
Sting pinned Sid Vicious (w/ Col. Rob Parker) with a roll up at 10:44 after Parker grabbed Sid’s foot during a cover, thinking it was Sting’s, with Sid then grabbing Parker and pulling him onto the apron as Sting went for the roll up from behind
World Heavyweight Champion Rick Rude defeated Ric Flair (w/ Fifi) via disqualification at 19:56 when referee Randy Anderson stopped the match after Flair hit Rude with the champion’s own foreign object, just as special second referee Terry Taylor began counting Flair’s cover; after the bout, Flair grabbed the title belt and then briefly applied the figure-4 on Rude on the ramp after saving Fifi from Rude
WCW World Champion Vader (w/ Harley Race) defeated Cactus Jack in a non-title Texas Death Match at 15:57; the rules of the bout stated the loser would be the man who couldn’t get back to his feet by a standing 10-count after being pinned; there was a 30-second rest period between falls; fall #1: Cactus pinned Vader on the ramp with a clothesline at 5:40; fall #2: Cactus pinned Vader with an elbowsmash from the ramp to the floor at 6:49; fall #3: Vader pinned Cactus with a moonsault at 11:59; fall #4: Vader pinned Cactus on the ramp at 14:54 after a DDT onto a steel chair and then scaring away EMTs as they came out to check on Cactus; after the fall, both men were knocked down which prompted referee Nick Patrick to begin a standing 10-count on each; Cactus rose to his feet first but Race shocked him with a stungun, allowing Vader to break the 10-count and win the match; after the match, Cactus hit a double arm DDT on Race onto the ramp (WCW Fan Favorites)

WCW US Champion Sting & Ric Flair defeated Arn Anderson & Brian Pillman via disqualification at 17:56 when Flair attacked his partner; Flair, in street clothes, finally appeared at the 6-minute mark with his head bandaged after reportedly being attacked backstage before the show by Anderson & Pillman; when Sting finally tagged Flair in, Flair joined in triple teaming Sting and peeled off his bandage to reveal it was a set up; Flair, Anderson, and Pillman continued to attack Sting until officials covered Sting’s body; moments later, Gene Okerlund interviewed the three in the aisle, during which Flair said the Horsemen were reunited; Sting was then helped backstage by the trainer
WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan defeated the Giant in a monster truck challenge; the contest was held on the roof of the adjacent Cobo Arena and rules stated the winner would be the truck to push the other outside a 100-foot diameter circle; Eric Bischoff, Heenan, and Bob Chandler, who designed the two trucks, provided commentary for the contest; after the contest, the Giant got out of his truck and cornered Hogan against the ledge of the roof; after a brief brawl, in which both men were on the ledge, the Giant lost his balance and fell off; Hogan immediately ran for help as the helicopter filming the contest focused on the Detroit River below; moments later, Bischoff left the broadcast table to find out more information, with Tony Schiavone then returning to call the remainder of the show
Randy Savage pinned Lex Luger with the flying elbowsmash at 5:23 after Luger collided with Jimmy Hart, who appeared on the apron mid-way through the match, and knocked Hart to the floor; after the bout, Heenan momentarily left the broadcast table out of frustration for not knowing more about the Giant’s condition

WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Ted Dibiase) pinned Randy Savage at 17:37 after the Giant came ringside, as Savage attempted to get at Dibiase, and hit a chokeslam on the floor moments after Savage knocked the champion out with Dibiase’s own foreign object and then hit the flying elbowsmash; prior to the bout, Hogan, with the Giant and Vincent, appeared in the crowd, cut a promo on just finishing his “3 Ninjas” movie and having “Santa with Muscles” about to be released, and said he would wipe the mat with Savage; Hogan worked the match with a crewcut wig, from his movie filming, until Savage took it off mid-way through the match; during Savage’s entrance, he had a Macho Man monster truck drive out to the entrance way; moments later, Savage cut an in-ring promo telling Hogan to send Dibiase and the Giant, who accompanied him to the ring before the match, backstage so he could kick his ass; referee Mark Curtis then sent the Giant backstage; Hogan wore sunglasses for the match until Savage took them off mid-way through and put them on himself; moments later, Elizabeth came out to be in Savage’s corner; late in the bout, Curtis was knocked out, with Nick Patrick then taking over officiating duties; after the contest, the Giant revived Hogan by pouring ice water on him while Savage was helped backstage by officials and Elizabeth; moments later, Hogan, with the Giant, cut an in-ring promo on his success until Roddy Piper appeared; Piper then said he was as big a Hollywood star as Hogan and as big a wrestling icon as Hogan; Piper then referred to WrestleMania 1 and said Hogan got the cheers he did because he was facing Piper and said he was the only man Hogan could never beat; Piper then said Hogan needed to admit that he didn’t draw the fans, the fans made him; after Hogan admitted Piper was as big a star as him, Piper told him to straighten up and attempted to leave until Hogan told him to squat when he goes to the restroom; moments later, Hogan and Piper came nose to nose as the two alluded to having a match; Hogan and the Giant then left the ring until Piper grabbed Hogan’s title belt; the show then went off the air as the two continued to talk (Piper’s surprise debut)

Randy Savage defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Death Match at 18:09 after a man in a Sting outfit came ringside and hit DDP in his injured ribs with a baseball bat, preventing him from meeting the 10-count from referee Nick Patrick; Elizabeth was in Savage’s corner but was attacked and dragged backstage by Kimberly at around the 12-minute mark after Elizabeth began interfering; after the bout, Savage shoved Patrick and the trainer out of the way and stomped Page; moments later, DDP was placed on a stretcher and taken backstage, with Savage briefly attacking Page as he was strapped down
Roddy Piper defeated WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan in a non-title steel cage match at around the 15-minute mark via submission with the sleeper after Randy Savage accidentally dropped Hogan with a double axe handle off the top of the cage; early in the bout, about half a dozen Stings appeared in the aisle and in the crowd; after the match, Hogan unmasked one of the fake Stings and tossed him out of the ring before he, Savage, and Bischoff handcuffed Piper to the cage and beat him as the crowd chanted “We want Sting;” moments later, a “fan” in Sting facepaint climbed in the cage and was beaten by Hogan and Savage until security pulled him from the ring

WCW Cruiserweight Champion Disco Inferno pinned Lash Laroux at 7:35 with an inverted atomic drop and the Last Dance jawbreaker; after the bout, Laroux attacked the champion and hit a modified death valley driver onto the title belt
Harlem Heat defeated Konnan & Billy Kidman and Brian Knobbs & Hugh Morrus (w/ Jimmy Hart) in a streetfight at 5:18; Heat won at 5:02 when Booker pinned Knobbs after hitting him with a prop mummy but the bell came seconds later when the second referee counted Kidman’s pinfall on Morrus inside the ring, off camera; after some discussion, Heat were given the win for getting the pin first; due to pre-match stipulations, Harlem Heat won the vacant WCW Tag Team Titles; the bout was scheduled as Knobbs & Morrus vs. Konnan & Rey Mysterio Jr. for the titles but was changed after Mysterio suffered an injury and was unable to wrestle; despite not being recognized as champions, Konnan & Kidman wore the title belts to the ring before the match; Konnan appeared to suffer a legit shoulder injury late in the match; after the bout, Mysterio and Torrie Wilson appeared at the entranceway as Konnan was being helped
Eddie Guerrero defeated Perry Saturn via disqualification at 11:12 when Ric Flair came out as both men were knocked down and began beating Guerrero with a crowbar, then fighting off Billy Kidman as Kidman attempted to make the save; after the bout, Flair kissed Torrie Wilson, who appeared with Kidman, with Torrie seemingly liking it as Flair walked backstage; moments later, Flair returned ringside and reclaimed his stolen Rolex Guerrero left at the announce table
Brad Armstrong pinned Berlyn (w/ his bodyguard) at 4:23 after holding onto the rope to block Berlyn’s hangman’s neckbreaker; after the bout, the bodyguard attacked Armstrong, with Berlyn then doing the same
Rick Steiner pinned WCW TV Champion Chris Benoit to win the title at 12:49 after Dean Malenko came out as both men were down, grabbed a steel chair which had been used moments earlier, and hit Benoit in the head with it; after the bout, Malenko hugged Perry Saturn in the aisle and the two left ringside together
Lex Luger (w/ Elizabeth) defeated Bret Hart via submission at 7:47 with a half crab after working over Hart’s injured left leg
WCW World Champion Sting pinned Hulk Hogan; prior to the “bout,” the challenger’s music played all the way through before Sting was brought out first instead; Hogan’s music played a second time, with Hogan eventually coming out in street clothes, saying something to Sting and then laying down for Sting to pin him; as Sting was announced as the winner, the screen quickly went to a promo package for Goldberg / Vicious; the bell never rang to begin the match; the crowd heavily booed the segment and chanted “bullshit” as the next match prepared to start
Bill Goldberg defeated WCW US Champion Sid Vicious via referee’s decision to win the title at 7:11 when the referee stopped the match when Sid, heavily bloodied, wasn’t responsive; prior to the match, Goldberg was attacked in the aisle by Kevin Nash & Scott Hall; after the bout, WCW TV Champion Rick Steiner came out and helped Vicious backstage, with Sid eventually turning around and trying to go back for more but was held back by Steiner and the referee
Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Kimberly) pinned Ric Flair in a strap match at 12:48 with the Diamond Cutter after wrapping the strap around Flair’s neck; after the bout, Page dropped referee Charles Robinson with the Diamond Cutter, after Robinson attempted to protect Flair from losing; moments later, David Flair came out with a crowbar but suffered a low blow from Kimberly, who threw the weapon to Page to use on Ric; Page then hit a bloody Flair in the crotch with the crowbar and dropped David with two Diamond Cutters inside the ring; after DDP and Kimberly left ringside, medics, David, and Robinson, both crying, tended to Ric, who was placed in a neckbrace and taken backstage on a stretcher; moments later, as Ric was about to be placed in a waiting ambulance, the Filthy Animals appeared, roughed up Ric and David, and sped off with Ric in the back of an ambulance
WCW US Champion Bill Goldberg (mystery opponent) pinned WCW World Champion Sting to win the title at 3:09 with the spear and Jackhammer; the commentary team referred to the bout as non-title but Goldberg was awarded the belt afterwards and announced as the new champion; after Goldberg left ringside, Sting argued with referee Charles Robinson and dropped him with the Scorpion Death Drop

WCW Tag Team Champions Mark Jindrak & Sean O’Haire defeated Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio Jr. (w/ Konnan) and Disco Inferno & Alex Wright at 10:08 when O’Haire pinned Disco with the Swanton moments after Mysterio hit a springboard legdrop on Disco as Disco had Jindrak covered following the Chart Buster; after the bout, Wright assaulted Kidman & Mysterio with a steel chair, with Konnan – who provided guest commentary for the match – then trying to make the save but was double teamed by Jindrak & O’Haire; moments later, the Wall came out to clear the ring as Konnan was tended to on the floor
WCW Hardcore Champion Reno pinned the Wall at 10:52 after hitting the Roll of the Dice onto a table at ringside; during the bout, an on screen graphic advertised WCW’s Backstage Assault video game; late in the bout, the Wall punched agent Fit Finlay as the fight made its way from the backstage area to the aisle; after the contest, Reno continued to assault the Wall, with Shawn Stasiak & Chuck Palumbo then coming out and triple teaming the Wall for several moments until Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Lash Laroux made the save
Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Lash Laroux defeated Shawn Stasiak & Chuck Palumbo in an impromptu match at 9:23 when Guerrero pinned Stasiak with the Tornado DDT after Palumbo accidentally dropped his partner with a superkick when Laroux moved out of the way; during the bout, an on screen graphic advertised WCW’s Backstage Assault video game
Konnan & Tygress defeated Shane Douglas & Torrie Wilson at around the 7:30 mark when Konnan pinned Douglas following a double facebuster; Wilson was dressed as Wonder Woman for the match; prior to the contest, Douglas cut an in-ring promo challenging Tygress to come out alone since Konnan was in no shape to compete; moments after she did, Tygress fought off both opponents until she was eventually double teamed; Konnan came out shortly thereafter
Buff Bagwell defeated David Flair in a first blood match at 5:35 after hitting David with a steel chair and following with the Buff Blockbuster; prior to the bout, David came to the ring with a DNA collecting kit which he left at the commentary table; after the contest, Lex Luger came out, hugged Bagwell, but then attacked him and threw him face-first into the steel ringpost; after the contest, David took a blood sample from Bagwell after he began bleeding from the mouth; moments later, a backstage camera showed David giving the blood sample to two lab technicians as Bill Goldberg was shown arriving to the arena (Luger’s surprise return after a 5-month absence)
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Mike Sanders (w/ Shawn Stasiak & Chuck Palumbo) defeated Ernest Miller (w/ Ms. Jones) via count-out in a non-title kickboxing match when the referee counted Miller out of the ring following the 3rd round when Miller began fighting with an interfering Shane Douglas at ringside; Douglas appeared ringside after the 2nd round and hit Miller with a foreign object behind the referee’s back toward the end of the round
Mike Awesome pinned Vampiro with a powerbomb off the top at 9:50; prior to the bout, Vampiro cut an in-ring promo in which he challenged Awesome to put his WCW World Title shot for the following night’s Nitro on the line, with Awesome agreeing; though no stipulation was announced for the match, the referee allowed the use of a table as a weapon and counted a cover made on the floor during the bout; several minutes after the fall, Vampiro was helped to his feet by officials
Gen. Rection defeated WCW US Champion Lance Storm (w/ Major Gunns) and Jim Duggan to win the title at 10:08 by pinning Duggan with a botched moonsault as Storm was distracted by Gunns on the floor; prior to the bout, Storm cut an in-ring promo in which he said Rection wouldn’t get the gold or the girl; stipulations stated Gunns could rejoin the Misfits in Action if Rection won; late in the contest, Elix Skipper came out to try to interfere but Gunns knocked him off the apron; after the match, Chavo Guerrero Jr., the Wall, Lash Laroux, and Gunns celebrated Rection’s win in the ring
Jeff Jarrett pinned Sting at 14:39 after smashing a guitar over him; early in the bout, a man dressed as Sting circa 1989 appeared at the entranceway, with Sting attacking him and dropping him with the Scorpion Death Drop; moments later, a man dressed as Sting circa the early 90s came through the crowd, with Sting fighting him off as well; a Wolfpac era Sting appeared, with Sting assaulting him with a baseball bat and also dropping him with the Scorpion Death Drop; late in the contest, Sting locked Jarrett in the Scorpion Deathlock, only for a Crow Sting to come through the mat and pull Sting underneath the ring; after Sting fought off the fake Sting and set Jarrett up for the Scorpion Death Drop, the lights went out and another Crow Sting (Bill Eadie) came down from the rafters; Sting then hit the Scorpion Death Drop on the fake Sting through the commentary table; another fake Sting then smashed a guitar over Sting’s head, with Sting no selling it and laying out the man; Jarrett then smashed another guitar over Sting and made the pin
WCW World Champion Booker T defeated Scott Steiner (w/ Madajah) via disqualification at 13:26 after Steiner hit Booker with a lead pipe as the champion attempted a Harlem sidekick, then assaulted several officials inbetween locking Booker in the Steiner Recliner; upon Steiner’s entrance, footage was shown of the challenger attacking agent Ricky Santana backstage, upset that the match wasn’t going on last as originally scheduled; after his introduction, Steiner confronted Stevie Ray at the commentary table; after the contest, Steiner laid out several officials with the pipe before Jeff Jarrett appeared in an attempt to restrain Steiner; moments later, Steiner hit Booker several times with the pipe until he was forced back by security
Bill Goldberg defeated Kronik in a No DQ handicap match at 3:44; prior to the bout, Brian Adams cut an in-ring promo claiming Goldberg hasn’t been cleared to wrestle and the match wouldn’t be happening; moments later, backstage footage showed that Goldberg had just been cleared; Goldberg pinned Bryan Clarke following a spear through a table set up in the corner at 2:26; Goldberg pinned Adams with the spear and Jackhammer (Goldberg: The Ultimate Collection)
