Raw is War – included the new WWF World Champion Steve Austin cutting an in-ring promo to open the show in which he asked Vince McMahon to come out so he could relinquish the world title belt; after giving Vince the belt, Austin had footage shown from Breakdown in which McMahon ran off with the Smoking Skull belt and later said it would be put above his fireplace at home; Austin then demanded that Vince go home and give him back the Smoking Skull belt by the end of the show or he would beat him up; moments later, as Austin was looking the other way, Vince hit him with the title belt and ran backstage; featured X-Pac cutting an in-ring promo in which he said DX would not die and that he and the New Age Outlaws would continue to raise hell, then said he would fight Triple H later in the show; included the Undertaker calling Vince McMahon on the phone backstage to torment him after kidnapping Stephanie; featured Vince McMahon telling Ken Shamrock he would always be indebted to him for finding Stephanie and then telling Shane to simply give Steve Austin his Smoking Skull belt after it was brought to the arena from Greenwich, CT; included a closing segment in which Shane McMahon cut an in-ring promo in which he said that if Steve Austin wanted his Smoking Skull belt back, he would have to go through the Rock; moments later, the Rock came out with the belt over his shoulder and cut a promo on Austin, with Austin coming out soon thereafter and the two men brawling around ringside; the ensuing battle saw Austin hit the Stunner on Shane, Rock hit Austin with the Smoking Skull belt, and other members of the Corporation – including Triple H, Test, and Ken Shamrock – help in beating the champion down; moments later, the Big Show came out to help clear the ring, with Triple H sustaining the chokeslam from Show:
Ivory & Tori defeated WWF Women’s Champion Sable & Jackie when Tori pinned Jackie with a backslide at 1:25 after Sable hit her own partner in the back with the women’s title belt; after the bout, the Ministry – the Undertaker, Paul Bearer, Gangrel, Edge, Christian, Viscera, and Mideon – came to the ring with Taker holding Sable as bait for Vince McMahon to come ringside; after Vince came out, he quickly realized it was a trap; when he ran backstage, he found that Stephanie had gone missing
