WCW Tag Team Champions the Dudley Boyz (w/ Stacy Keibler) defeated WWF Tag Team Champions Matt & Jeff Hardy in a unification steel cage match at 15:46 when Bubba Ray pinned Jeff after Jeff failed a Swanton from the top of the cage onto D-Von, crashing through a table set up in the ring; Matt had already escaped the cage by going over the top and Jeff had the opportunity to do the same but wanted to hit the Swanton instead; after the bout, Matt, Lita, and several officials helped Jeff out of the cage and onto a stretcher (Allied Powers, The Greatest Cage Matches of All Time)

Trish Stratus defeated Lita, Jackie, Ivory, Molly Holly, and Jazz (mystery participant) to win the vacant WWF Women?s at 4:23 by pinning Ivory with the bulldog (Jazz’ surprise debut)
Team WWF – WCW World Champion the Rock, Chris Jericho, the Big Show, Kane, & the Undertaker defeated Team Alliance – WWF World Champion Steve Austin, Shane McMahon, Kurt Angle, Booker T, & WWF Hardcore Champion Rob Van Dam in an elimination match at 44:51; Shane pinned the Big Show at 12:42 with an elbow drop off the top after Show suffered the Angle Slam, the scissors kick, and the five star frogsplash; Jericho pinned Shane at 14:31 with the Lionsault after Shane suffered a chokeslam from Kane and the tombstone from the Undertaker; RVD pinned Kane at 18:20 with a kick off the top rope; Angle pinned the Undertaker at 20:03 after Austin hit the Stunner on the Undertaker; Rock pinned Booker T with a roll up at 22:33 after sending Booker into RVD on the apron; Jericho pinned RVD with the Break Down at 24:51 after lifting his knees to block a split-legged moonsault; Rock defeated Angle via submission with the Sharpshooter at 31:53; Austin pinned Jericho at 34:32 with a roll over; after the fall, Jericho hit the Break Down on the Rock and remained ringside until the Undertaker returned to berate him for his actions and sent him backstage; Rock pinned Austin with the Rock Bottom after Angle returned ringside and hit Austin with the WWF world title belt before leaving with the belt; due to pre-match stipulations, the Alliance was forced to disband and all championships that were decided earlier in the night were reverted to WWF titles; all Alliance members aside from title-holders and Test were forced out of the company, only to return in the coming weeks; had the WWF team lost, the WWF would have disbanded

Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Shannon Moore & Crash Holly in an impromptu match to earn a cruiserweight title shot, despite suffering an apparent groin injury late in the contest; Mysterio pinned Moore with a hurricanrana into a roll up at 3:31; Mysterio pinned Crash with a hurricanrana into a roll up at 3:45; after the bout, Matt Hardy laid out both Moore and Crash as Mysterio was helped from ringside by officials
WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar defeated Johnny Stamboli (w/ Nunzio & Chuck Palumbo) via disqualification in a non-title match when the FBI interfered at 4:12; after the bout, the Undertaker made his return and helped in fighting off the FBI
Sean O’Haire (w/ Roddy Piper) defeated Mr. America (w/ Zach Gowen) via count-out at 7:06 when Vince McMahon came ringside and had Gowen arrested for his actions at Judgment Day as well as being at ringside without a pass; due to prematch stipulations, Mr. America would have to undergo a lie detector test the following week to see if he truely was Hulk Hogan; had Hogan won, Piper would have been fired from the WWE

Raw – 2/16 – featured Vince McMahon airing a series of clips showcasing moments in Shawn Michaels’ career, including the “Lost My Smile” promo from 2/13/97, Michaels & Triple H showing footage of the “Curtain Call” during the 10/6/97 Raw, and the Michaels / McMahon confrontation from the 12/26/05 Raw in which Michaels told McMahon to “Move on” from the Montreal Incident; included an in-ring retirement ceremony for Michaels conducted by McMahon in which McMahon said he was going to put together a tribute video for Michaels and fly his family down but Michaels deserved more; he then brought out the Spirit Squad to give a cheer in Michaels’ honor; moments later, Michaels refused to sign the retirement papers, saying he loved the job too much to walk away from it; Michaels then tore up the paperwork, with Vince then slapping him in the face and leaving the ring; as Michaels prepared to fight McMahon, Vince took the mic and said that by not signing the papers Michaels opened the floodgates to his own personal hell; featured the announcement that Bret Hart would be inducted into the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame on April 1; included a backstage segment in which Jack, Trish Stratus’ boyfriend, found Mickie James in Trish’s dressing room wearing a wig to look like the women’s champion; moments later, Mickie took off the wig and began screaming for help claiming Jack was hurting her and security took him away; after the commercial break, Mickie told Trish her side of the story to convince her that she had been victimized; featured footage of Stacy Keibler perfoming on “Dancing with the Stars” and earning a perfect score on that week’s episode:
Road to WrestleMania Semi-Finals: Triple H fought WWE Raw Tag Team Champion the Big Show to a double count-out at 13:33 when Show grabbed Triple H by the throat and pulled him off the ring apron as both men began fighting on the floor; after the bout, the two continued to brawl at ringside until a bloody Show speared Triple H through the retaining barrier as Triple H attempted to hit Show with a steel chair; moments later, Vince McMahon announced backstage that both men would meet the winner of the RVD / Masters match the following week in a triple threat match

Ric Flair defeated Triple H via disqualification at 13:10 when – as Triple H attempted to cover Flair after hitting the Pedigree and further injuring his bad knees – William Regal appeared and punched Flair with his brass knuckles before leaving ringside; pre-match stipulations stated if Flair lost then he would be forced to retire and if Triple H lost he would not be involved in the 30-man Royal Rumble match; after the bout, Triple H helped Flair to his feet and the two men hugged as the broadcast ended

Smackdown! – featured an opening in-ring segment with Vickie Guerrero, Teddy Long, World Heavyweight Champion Edge, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Bam Neely, Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder during which Vickie announced that the Batista vs. World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker match later in the show would now be a No DQ contest; Edge then said regardless of who walks out with the title later in the show, he would take it at Backlash and Chavo would take the ECW World Title as well; moments later, CM Punk interrupted and talked about how he could cash in his Money in the Bank title shot whenever and wherever he wanted, then said he was thinking about perhaps cashing it in against Batista or Taker, both of which could beat Edge; after Edge and Punk traded words, Vickie made a match between the two for later in the show; included an ad for “Twist of Fate: The Matt & Jeff Hardy Story;” featured a video package highlighting the Big Show vs. Great Khali feud; featured Michael Cole conducting an in-ring interview with Matt Hardy regarding his return to the WWE and US title match with MVP at Backlash, with MVP eventually coming out, sending Cole out of the ring, and confronting Hardy, claiming he was jealous and was riding his coat tails; after Hardy refused MVP’s offer to forget about the match, move on, and be friends, MVP took off his title belt, held it in the air, then kicked Hardy’s bad leg and hit him in the face with the title belt; included footage of from the WrestleMania Reading Challenge, in which 30,000 teens participated, with 10 students recognized during WrestleMania weekend, with comments from Punk and appearances from WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Champion Mike Mizanin and Matt Striker; featured a video package highlighting the men Taker has injured with his leg choke; included Batista speaking backstage with Vickie in which he said he appreciated the title shot with Taker but knew exactly what she was up to Shannon Moore (w/ Jimmy Wang Yang) pinned WWE Smackdown!
