Smackdown! – featured an opening in-ring segment with Vickie Guerrero, Teddy Long, World Heavyweight Champion Edge, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Bam Neely, Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder during which Vickie announced that the Batista vs. World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker match later in the show would now be a No DQ contest; Edge then said regardless of who walks out with the title later in the show, he would take it at Backlash and Chavo would take the ECW World Title as well; moments later, CM Punk interrupted and talked about how he could cash in his Money in the Bank title shot whenever and wherever he wanted, then said he was thinking about perhaps cashing it in against Batista or Taker, both of which could beat Edge; after Edge and Punk traded words, Vickie made a match between the two for later in the show; included an ad for “Twist of Fate: The Matt & Jeff Hardy Story;” featured a video package highlighting the Big Show vs. Great Khali feud; featured Michael Cole conducting an in-ring interview with Matt Hardy regarding his return to the WWE and US title match with MVP at Backlash, with MVP eventually coming out, sending Cole out of the ring, and confronting Hardy, claiming he was jealous and was riding his coat tails; after Hardy refused MVP’s offer to forget about the match, move on, and be friends, MVP took off his title belt, held it in the air, then kicked Hardy’s bad leg and hit him in the face with the title belt; included footage of from the WrestleMania Reading Challenge, in which 30,000 teens participated, with 10 students recognized during WrestleMania weekend, with comments from Punk and appearances from WWE Smackdown! Tag Team Champion Mike Mizanin and Matt Striker; featured a video package highlighting the men Taker has injured with his leg choke; included Batista speaking backstage with Vickie in which he said he appreciated the title shot with Taker but knew exactly what she was up to Shannon Moore (w/ Jimmy Wang Yang) pinned WWE Smackdown!
