Pay-per-view bouts – featured Michael Cole, Matt Striker, & Jerry Lawler on commentary; included a backstage segment in which Todd Grisham stood outside the trainer’s room with an update on Triple H’s condition, with Sheamus interrupting and saying Triple H could face him or forfeit but he would win either way; members of the National Guard were shown in attendance; featured a backstage segment with Grisham in which he detailed Triple H’s injuries and said the trainer said it was doubtful Triple H would be able to compete later in the show; included Josh Matthews conducting a backstage interview with Edge regarding his upcoming steel cage match against Chris Jericho; featured Matthews conducting a backstage interview with Jericho regarding his upcoming steel cage match against Edge and his loss earlier in the week to Heath Slater:
Triple H fought Sheamus to a no contest in a streetfight; after Triple H’s music played but he did not appear, a backstage camera showed Sheamus attacking him in the hallway, with referees attempting to intervene; Triple H was eventually pulled off Sheamus, with Sheamus then taking a pipe and twice striking Triple H in the head with it, knocking him out; moments later, Teddy Long and the referees called for a trainer for Triple H
David Hart Smith & Tyson Kidd (w/ Bret Hart & Natalya Neidhart) defeated WWE Unified Tag Team Champions – WWE US Champion Mike Mizanin & the Big Show, John Morrison & R-Truth, and MVP & Mark Henry in an impromptu gauntlet match; following their entrance, Miz took the mic and noted he beat Smith and that Hart would have to admit the next night that he and Show were the greatest tag teams in WWE history; he then said they needed some competition and begged for a team to face them; moments later, Teddy Long appeared and said he had a team of his choosing waiting and if that team won then they would earn a title shot; after Miz repeatedly insulted him, Long said he would have three teams face them; when Long threatened to add a fourth, Show covered Miz’s mouth; Long then said, should any of the teams beat Miz & Show, they would challenge them for the titles the next night; Miz & Show defeated Morrison & R-Truth via disqualification at 3:14 when Morrison had Show in a triangle choke while hanging over the top rope, as a counter to Show’s chokeslam; Miz & Show defeated MVP & Henry at 5:42 when Miz pinned MVP when, after MVP hit the Playmaker on Miz and made the cover, Show punched MVP in the face from the floor; Kidd & Hart defeated Miz & Show at 6:22 when Hart pinned Miz following the springboard Hart Attack CM Punk pinned Rey Mysterio Jr. at 15:59 with the Go To Sleep after a masked bald man (Joey Mercury) came out from under the ring and attacked Mysterio on the floor behind the referee’s back; stiuplations stated Punk’s head would be shaved if he lost; a barber chair and shaving tools were positioned at the entrance stage for the match; Serena & Luke Gallows escorted Punk to the ring before the bout but were ejected at the 9-minute mark for interfering; after the match, Punk sat in the barber chair, accompanied by Serena & Gallows
JTG defeated Shad Gaspard in a strap match at 4:42 by touching the four corners
World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger pinned Randy Orton in an extreme rules match at 14:02 with the gutwrench powerbomb after blocking a RKO attempt onto a steel chair set up in the ring and Swagger dropping Orton back-first onto the chair; after the contest, Orton dropped Swagger with a RKO on the floor; moments later, Sheamus walked out, past Orton, and into the ring to start the next match
Sheamus pinned Triple H in a streetfight at 15:50 after four consecutive boots to the face; prior to the bout, Sheamus took the mic and said if Triple H wasn’t man enough to face him then the referee needed to go ahead and declare him the winner; Todd Grisham was then shown outside the trainer’s room and said Triple H would not be able to wrestle, with Triple H then leaving the trainer’s room and making his way out to the ring; after the match, Triple H was tended to in the ring and fitted with a neckbrace but then pushed the medics away, tore off the neckbrace, and struggled to walk on his own as he was helped backstage; moments later, Sheamus reappeared and kicked Triple H in the face at the entrance stage; Triple H was then taken backstage on a stretcher
Beth Phoenix pinned WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool (w/ Layla & Vickie Guerrero) in an extreme makeover match to win the title at 6:36 with the Glam Slam
Edge pinned Chris Jericho with the spear in a steel cage match at 19:58
WWE World Champion John Cena defeated Batista in a last man standing match at 24:32 after tying the challenger’s legs together with duct tape; Cena received a mixed reaction upon his entrance; after the match, Batista watched as Cena stood on the ringsteps in the ring and held up the title belt

NXT – 9/7/10 – season 3 premiere – featured an opening in-ring segment in which Matt Striker introduced each of the WWE Pros; Kelly Kelly introduced her rookie Naomi, Brie & Nikki Bella introduced Jamie, Primo Colon introduced AJ, Alicia Fox introduced Maxine, and Goldust introduced Aksana; moments later, Vickie Guerrero appeared and announced she had fired her rookie Aloisa and introduced her new rookie Kaitlyn; Striker then gave each rookie 30 to 45 seconds to give the fans an idea as to who they are; Kaitlyn went first but Vickie interrupted before Aksana could go to say Kaitlyn’s performance was awful and she would have to go again; included an ad promoting Smackdown moving to SyFy Oct. 1; featured an ad promoting ‘Legacy,’ staring John Cena; included Striker hosting an in-ring dance challenge, prior to which he said the rookie with the most challenge wins after four weeks would be immune to to the first elimination and then had Michael Cole get in the ring so the rookies would have someone to dance with; after two dances, Cole was replaced by ring announcer Tony Chimmel; two dances later, Chimmel was replaced by Josh Matthews; Naomi was chosen as the winner by the crowd; featured Striker hosting a physical challenge which Naomi again won; included an extended look at ‘Legendary,’ with comments from Cena, Devon Graye, Patricia Clarkson, and Danny Glover; featured a vignette on Jamie focusing on her fitness background, during which she noted she looked up to Trish Stratus:
Kelly Kelly & Naomi defeated Alicia Fox & Maxine at 3:03 when Naomi pinned Maxine with a roll up; after the bout, Naomni hit a suplex on Maxine and made a cover, not realizing the match was over (Naomi and Maxine’s in-ring debuts)
Primo Colon & AJ defeated Goldust & Aksana at 1:47 when AJ pinned Aksana with a reversal into a bulldog; after the bout, Vickie Guerrero brought Kaitlyn to the ring so she could give her introduction one more time, with AJ and Chavo arguing with Vickie until Vickie ordered Kaitlyn to attack AJ; AJ then rammed Kaitlyn into Vickie, with Vickie then screaming and leaving ringside (AJ and Aksana’s in-ring debuts)
WWE Superstars – 9/9/10: Trent Barretta & Caylen Croft defeated Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer at 3:49 when Barretta pinned Archer with a tornado DDT after Croft hit Archer as Archer had Barretta up on his shoulders; Todd Grisham & Matt Striker provided commentary for the bout
WWE Superstars – 9/9/10: The Big Show pinned Luke Gallows (w/ Joey Mercury, his arm in a sling) at 2:12 with the right hand punch; prior to the bout, Gallows cut an in-ring promo in which he said he was better than all the fans and would reinforce his position within the Straight Edge Society by beating Show; Todd Grisham & Matt Striker provided commentary for the bout; after the contest, Show took the mic and said he would rid the SES from the WWE
Smackdown! – 9/10/10 – featured an opening in-ring segment in which the Undertaker appeared in the ring and cut a promo saying World Heavyweight Champion Kane was always a disturbed freak of nature that he often had to protect from others and himself; Taker then said Kane only thinks he has momentum on his side and that he would take Kane’s title, then challenged Kane to a no holds barred stipulation; CM Punk then appeared at the entrance stage, said Taker deserved a standing ovation, and that the fans would never see him again after Night of Champions; moments later, Punk said Taker was on a downward spiral, a man who had a few too many matches, and that he would prove the power of the dark side was nothing against the power of straight edge, with Taker responding that Punk would rest in peace; included an ad promoting ‘Legendary,’ staring John Cena; featured a backstage segment with WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool & WWE Women’s Champion Layla, alongside Kaval, in which McCool and Layla argued over who should face WWE Divas Champion Melina at Night of Champions; Kaval then asked them to be quiet so he could get ready for his debut on Smackdown, with the two women making fun of Kaval’s voice until he walked away; included a video package recapping the history between Taker and Kane, dating back to 1997; featured an extended look at ‘Legendary,’ with comments from Cena, Devon Graye, Patricia Clarkson, and Danny Glover; included grooming tips by Cody Rhodes in which he spoke about the importance of facials; featured a backstage segment in which the Big Show pretended to interview himself as Josh Matthews regarding his match with Punk at Night of Champions; moments later, Kelly Kelly appeared and laughed at Show, with Matthews then walking in looking for his missing microphone, with Kelly then telling Show to give it back to him:

Alberto Del Rio defeated Matt Hardy via submission with the armbar at 11:11 after dropping Hardy’s arm over the top rope and then ramming him shoulder-first into the ringpost; Ricardo Rodriguez served as Del Rio’s ring announcer for the bout; prior to the match, Del Rio drove out in a white Bentley; after the contst, Del Rio attempted to further injure Hardy until Christian ran out to clear him from the ring

The Undertaker defeated CM Punk via submission with the Hell’s Gate at 14:34, moments after sustaining Punk’s Go To Sleep; prior to the bout, Luke Gallows & Joey Mercury came out with Punk but he told them to go backstage; after the contest, World Heavyweight Champion Kane was heard laughing as his pyro went off at the entrance stage (Smackdown: Best of 2009-2010)

Kane defeated Mark Henry via disqualification in an arm wrestling contest when Henry attacked Kane; the stipulation was chosen with 52 percent of the vote, over a body slam match at 13 percent and an over the top rope match at 35 percent; following Henry’s introduction, he took the mic and cut a promo on injuring the Big Show at Capitol Punishment; after the bout, Henry rammed the table into Kane, sending Kane to the floor, and then rammed him back-first into the ringpost; moments later, Henry slammed Kane through the ringside commentary table
Kofi Kingston defeated WWE IC Champion Dolph Ziggler (w/ Vickie Guerrero) in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match at 11:07; fans chose the stipulation with 51 percent of the vote over Vickie banned from ringside, with 31 percent, and a submission match, with 18 percent; fall #1: Ziggler pinned Kingston after hitting the Zig Zag on the floor (the fall happened during the commercial break); fall #2: Kingston pinned Ziggler with the SOS at 7:23; fall #3: Kingston won via disqualification when Ziggler hit the challenger with the mic as Ziggler attempted to escape into the crowd; after the contest, Ziggler tried to attack Kingston in the ring but Kingston dropped him with the spin kick to the head
CM Punk defeated Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio Jr. at 11:07 in a falls count anywhere match by pinning Del Rio after Mysterio hit the 619 and splash off the top onto Del Rio, with Punk then breaking the pinfall and throwing Mysterio into the ringpost; the stipulation was chosen with 66 percent of the vote, over a No DQ match with 23 percent and a submission match with 11 percent; the match was to determine the #1 contender for the WWE World Title; following his entrance, Del Rio cut an in-ring promo in which he said Big Show’s injury was destiny and he would become the #1 contender; during the match, there were dueling chants of “Let’s go, Rey” and “CM Punk;” after the bout, Punk took the mic and said July 17 would be a historic day for he and the WWE because he would beat WWE World Champion John Cena for the title, then adding it was the same day his WWE contract ends; Punk then said he would leave the company with the WWE title
Daniel Bryan pinned Cody Rhodes in a No count-out match at 2:32 by reversing an inside cradle; prior to the bout, Rhodes’ attendants handed paper bags to ringside fans; the stipulation was chosen with 51 percent of the vote, over a paper bag match with 43 percent and a collegiate rules match at 6 percent; after the contest, Bryan fought off Rhodes and applied the LeBell Lock until Ted Dibiase Jr. interfered, allowing Rhodes to drop Bryan with Crossroads; during the segment, Booker T referred to Rhodes’ Alabama Slam as a “sidewalk slam;” moments later, Rhodes put one of his paper bags over Bryan’s head
