1/2/06 – featured a WWE Unlimited promo from Gregory Helms on Jerry Lawler, taped the previous week; moments later, Helms came out and asked Lawler to get in the ring; Lawler then said Helms was no longer the Hurricane, just a guy that sucks; that led to a brief brawl in which Lawler won and then challenged Helms to a match at New Year’s Revolution which was later accepted; included a video montage of the Elimination Chamber matches held at Survivor Series 02 and Summer Slam 03; featured Mickie James confronting Trish Stratus in the shower, taking Trish’s towel long enough so she could apologize for kissing her the previous week; before giving the towel back, Mickie complimented Trish’s boobs; included Edge & Lita on the interview stage in which he cut a promo on Ric Flair, then showed ‘amateur footage’ of Flair’s road rage incident in which Edge, dressed as Flair, chopped a motorist and put him in the figure-4; Edge then said he would “rescue” the IC title from Flair at the pay-per-view; moments later, Flair appeared and brawled with Edge into the ring, eventually locking the figure-4 on Lita to close the segment; featured a video package on Stacy Keibler’s involvement with the upcoming series “Dancing with the Stars”; included footage of Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, attending a live event in Pittsburgh and meeting John Cena, Trish Stratus, Chris Masters, Jonathan Coachman, and Chavo Guerrero Jr.; featured an in-ring promo by Triple H on his match with the Big Show at New Year’s Revolution, then cued footage of him jabbing Big Show in the face with a pen the previous week and smashing his hand with a sledgehammer; as a mistake, footage was instead shown from 5 weeks ago of Show confronting Triple H in the ring; moments later, Show came out with a cast on his right hand and stalked Triple H around ringside while demonstrating the cast was rock hard and could be used as a weapon; included the debut of Shelton Benjamin’s momma, played by actress Thea Vidale:
WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Kane pinned Shawn Michaels with the chokeslam at 14:02; prior to the bout, Vince McMahon cut an in-ring promo, saying he would no longer take any crap from anyone and would be doing things for his own personal amusement, rather than what’s in the best interest of the fans; he then instructed Lilian Garcia to make the ring introductions; pre-match stipulations stated Michaels would be disqualified for using the superkick; during the closing moments of the contest, Michaels prepared to hit the superkick despite the stipulations but McMahon, who sat ringside, threatened to kick him out of the Elimination Chamber match if he used the move; during the commercial break, Michaels was informed by Todd Grisham that McMahon selected him as the first entrant in the Elimination Chamber match
Maria pinned Victoria (w/ Candice Michelle & Torrie Wilson) with a roll up at 1:37 after Victoria hit the corner; Victoria wore a neckbrace for the duration of the match, selling an injury sustained at the hands of Carlito the previous week; after the bout, Ashley attempted to make the save as Maria was triple teamed but was eventually beaten down herself; during the commercial break, Vince McMahon came out and said that as a result of the altercation, there would be a bra & panties gauntlet match at New Year’s Revolution
Chris Masters defeated Shelton Benjamin via submission with the full nelson at 4:38
Kurt Angle (w/ Daivari) defeated WWE World Champion John Cena in a non-title first blood match at around the 10-minute mark following a chair shot to the head; moments later, the champion caught Angle in the STFU, with Angle tapping out; after the bout, Carlito Caribbean Cool, Daivari, and Chris Masters attacked Cena, with Angle applying the ankle lock until Masters applied the full nelson on Angle and Carlito attacked Daivari; Kane then appeared and hit the chokeslam on Masters, Carlito, and Daivari, and kicked Angle in the face; Shawn Michaels then appeared and hit the superkick on Kane, with Cena then hitting the FU on Michaels to close the show (the bout began during the commercial break)

1/9/06 – featured an opening in-ring segment in which John Cena addressed losing the WWE World Title as well as his mixed reaction from the fans, telling those who boo him that they can kiss his ass and saying he wanted a rematch against Edge for the title later in the night; moments later, Lita came out with the title belt, said Cena would get a title shot at the Royal Rumble, and the only wrestling Edge would be doing later on would be with her; Cena then said he would beat Edge’s ass at the Rumble; included a vignette promoting the return of Rob Van Dam at the Royal Rumble; featured a backstage segment with Cena and Vince McMahon in which Vince said the title rematch at the Rumble would be off if Cena interfered in the Edge / Lita segment later in the show; included the first “Big Time” WrestleMania 22 ad, borrowing from the Peter Gabriel song; featured Vince McMahon announcing that Shawn Michaels would face Kurt Angle the following weeks; included footage from Stacy Keibler on “Dancing With the Stars”; featured a closing in-ring segment with WWE World Champion Edge and Lita in which a tribute video was shown to the tune of “Right Here” by Staind; moments later, Edge and Lita stripped down and climbed into a bed inside the ring and prepared to have sex until Ric Flair interrupted and attacked Edge, eventually sustaining a chair shot on the floor; moments later, John Cena came out, chased Edge from the ring, and hit the FU on Lita to close the show:
Ashley defeated WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus (w/ Mickie James) via disqualification at 1:46 when Mickie interfered and attacked the challenger as Ashley made a cover; after the bout, an upset Trish held Mickie back and calmed her down before leaving ringside alone; moments later, Lilian Garcia mistakenly said Trish was the winner before correcting herself
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match: Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Rob Conway at 5:40 with the Frog Splash after the Three Amigos
Chris Masters & Carlito Caribbean Cool defeated Shawn Michaels & Kurt Angle (w/ Daivari) at 16:56 when Angle passed out in Masters’ full nelson after Michaels dragged his partner into the ring and hit the superkick on Angle, then a second superkick on Daivari on the floor moments later
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match: Shelton Benjamin (w/ his mom) pinned Val Venis with the Exploder suplex at 4:35 after Shelton’s mom stabbed Venis in the butt with an object from her purse
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match: Kane pinned Gene Snitsky with the chokeslam at the 53-second mark; after the bout, Kane cut an in-ring promo, saying that was his first casualty on the way to WrestleMania 1/16/06; Raleigh, NC; RBC Center
1/16/06 – featured an opening video package to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day; featured footage from Smackdown! of Kurt Angle winning the battle royal to earn the vacant World Heavyweight Championship; included an in-ring segment with WWE World Champion Edge and Lita in which Edge bragged about the high rating his “Sex Celebration” got the previous week and how many page views WWE.com received after he won the title; as Edge and Lita attempted to finish where they left off the previous week in terms of having sex in the ring, World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle came out to interrupt, saying Edge wasn’t going to be a real champion by using cheap tricks; Angle then said his contract on Raw ran out Jan. 1 so he joined Smackdown! when he heard about Batista’s injury; moments later, the two had words which led to Angle clearing Edge from the ring; Vince McMahon then came out, sent Edge and Lita to the back to prepare for the match against Ric Flair, and said that while Angle’s title would not be on the line in his match with Shawn Michaels, if Michaels was to lose the match his contract on Raw would be terminated; featured a vignette promoting the return of Rob Van Dam during the Royal Rumble; moments later, Carlito Caribbean Cool cut an in-ring promo on RVD and showed footage of attacking him during the Cabana the previous June; when Carlito said no one on either roster could throw him out of the Rumble, Kane came out, kicked Carlito in the face, and threw him over the top to the floor; included footage of Stacy Keibler on “Dancing with the Stars” along with comments from several judges:
Shawn Michaels pinned World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle (w/ Daivari) in a non-title match at around the 17-minute mark with a roll up after Daivari entered the ring and accidentally hit Angle with a steel chair as he and the referee tried to gain control of the weapon; after the bout, Angle and Daivari argued, which led to Daivari slapping Angle and Angle dropping Daivari with an Olympic Slam over the top to the floor; pre-match stipulations stated that if Michaels lost the match he would be fired; during the commercial break, Angle cut a promo backstage for WWE Unlimited in which he said he and Daivari were officially over (the match began during the commercial break)
John Cena fought Chris Masters to a no contest in the Masterlock Challenge when Edge came into the ring, mocked Cena by spinning the world title belt, and then hitting Cena in the face with the belt, busting him open
Candice Michelle, Victoria, & Torrie Wilson defeated WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus, Mickie James, & Ashley at 2:04 when Victoria pinned Ashley with the Widlow’s Peak after Mickie attacked her opponent after Ashely inadvertantly knocked Mickie off the apron to the floor; during the heel entrance, a pre-taped clip of Candice was shown, along with part of a Go Daddy.com commercial, in which she said she would appear for the second time during the upcoming SuperBowl; after the bout, Trish argued with Mickie and looked over Ashley
Shelton Benjamin (w/ Mama Benjamin) defeated WWE Tag Team Champion the Big Show via count-out at 2:04 when Triple H, who came out of the crowd, began brawling with Show all the way backstage
WWE World Champion Edge (w/ Lita) defeated WWE IC Champion Ric Flair in a TLC match at 16:40 by punching the challenger off the top of the ladder; prior to the bout, Flair embraced his daughter Ashley who sat ringside; after the contest, Edge hit the spear on Flair and attempted to hit a Con-Chair-Two on the bloody IC Champion until John Cena made the save and cleared the ring; only the world title was on the line in the match (The Ladder Match) 1/23/06; Charlotte, NC; Bobcats Arena
1/23/06 – featured an opening in-ring promo by WWE World Champion Edge, alongside Lita, in which he said he wouldn’t be a transitional champion like the Iron Sheik and Mick Foley and wouldn’t lose the title 16 times like WWE IC Champion Ric Flair; he then said Flair wasn’t in the building, Flair would never again challenge him for the world title, and neither would John Cena after he beats Cena at the Royal Rumble; Cena then appeared, repeatedly called Lita a ho and said Edge would get the beating of his life at the Rumble; included a backstage segment in which Vince McMahon confronted Shawn Michaels and said if Michaels didn’t win his match later in the night then he would be out of the 30-man Royal Rumble; Superstar Billy Graham was shown in attendance:
Kane defeated Carlito Caribbean Cool via disqualification at 4:43 when Carlito hit Kane over the head with a steel chair
WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus & Ashely defeated Victoria & Candice Michelle (w/ Torrie Wilson) at 4:05 when Ashley pinned Victoria with a crossbody off the top; after the bout, Mickie James jumped in the ring and attacked Ashley
Shawn Michaels pinned Shelton Benjamin (w/ Mama Benjamin) at 13:46 with a roll up and grabbing the tights for leverage
Royal Rumble Qualifying Match: Jonathan Coachman pinned Jerry Lawler at 3:02 after Lawler became distracted by the Spirit Squad (the Spirit Squad’s surprise debut)
The Big Show defeated Gregory Helms, Rob Conway, and Lance Cade in a battle royal at 1:29; had Helms, Conway, or Cade won the match they would have earned a spot in the Royal Rumble match; order of elimination: Cade by Show (1:08); Conway by Show (1:13); Helms by Show; after the match, Triple H came out and said, while Show’s win was impressive, he would be the won winning the Royal Rumble and going to WrestleMania to become WWE World Champion
John Cena & WWE IC Champion Ric Flair (mystery partner) defeated WWE World Champion Edge (w/ Lita) & Chris Masters (mystery partner) at 6:20 when Masters submitted to Cena’s STFU 1/30/06; Orlando, FL; TD Waterhouse Centre
1/30/06 – featured a backstage promo by Edge, with Lita, to begin the program in which he said he demanded an immediate rematch against John Cena for the WWE World Title later in the night; included an in-ring segment in which Vince McMahon showed footage of Shane McMahon eliminating Shawn Michaels from the Royal Rumble the night before, adding that he abused his power at the Rumble but justified doing so; moments later, Michaels came out, with Michaels challenging Vince to a fight, with Vince refusing but later daring Michaels to punch him, with the threat that if he did he would fire Michaels and sue him; with Michaels distracted, Shane McMahon slid in the ring and hit Michaels in the back with a steel chair before leaving the ring with his father; featured WWE Unlimited footage of Todd Grisham interviewing Shane as he and Vince left the arena, with Shane explaining that he did what he did because Michaels disrespected the McMahon family; included Goldust confronting Shelton Benjamin’s momma backstage; featured footage of Candice Michelle shooting her Go Daddy.com commercial which would be televised the following Sunday during the SuperBowl; included a “Trish Stratus Appreciation” in-ring segment put on by Mickie James in which she brought Trish out and had balloons and confetti drop from the rafters; moments later, Mickie introduced the Spirit Squad, who performed a cheer at the entrance; Ashley then came out and told Mickie that Trish didn’t love her and that she, Trish, and all the fans thought Mickie was a psycho; Mickie then went to storm off but speared Ashley, with a brief brawl taking place until Mickie hit a spin kick on Ashley, knocking her senseless:

WWE Raw Tag Team Champions the Big Show & Kane defeated Carlito Caribbean Cool & Chris Masters at 6:11 when Show pinned Masters following a double chokeslam; during the commercial break, Carlito confronted the referee over the loss until Rob Van Dam came out and chased Carlito backstage
Shelton Benjamin (w/ his momma) pinned Goldust with the Exploder suplex after a kick to the head at 4:10; after the bout, Benjamin confronted Ric Flair backstage, saying he wanted a shot at the IC title (Goldust’s TV in-ring return after a 2 1/2 year absence)
Edge (w/ Lita) defeated WWE World Champion John Cena via disqualification at 14:13 when Lita grabbed the title belt and hit Edge in the head with it as the champion prepared to hit the FU 2/6/06; Atlanta, GA; Phillips Arena
2/6/06 – featured an opening video package on WrestleMania and the 8-man tournament which would begin during the show to determine the #1 contender to the WWE World Title for WrestleMania 22; included Maria conducting an in-ring interview with Edge & Lita, with Edge saying he had a world title shot against John Cena scheduled for the following week and neither Edge nor Lita agreeing to discuss why Lita hit Edge with the world title belt the week before, as Edge said he was four moves ahead of everyone else; after Edge and Lita forced Maria to introduce him as the future WWE Champion, Jim Duggan came out and called Lita a Ho before Edge knocked Duggan to the floor with his own 2×4; Cena made the save moments later as Edge prepared to hit the spear on Maria and cleared the ring; featured Eugene meeting Shelton Benjamin’s momma backstage in which he thought she was from the movie “Big Momma’s House 2”; included Candice Michelle’s Go Daddy.com commercial that was censored from being shown during SuperBowl XL; featured a frantic Maria complaining to John Cena backstage about the match, with Cena kissing her to calm her down:

Road to WrestleMania Quarter-Finals: WWE Raw Tag Team Champion the Big Show pinned Shelton Benjamin (sub. for Shawn Michaels) with the chokeslam at around the 7-minute mark; prior to the bout, Vince McMahon came out and insisted that Michaels go through on his threat of walking out and that a “Shawn Michaels’ Retirement Party” would take place the following week; Vince then said Shawn was out of the tournament because of his upcoming retirement and would be replaced; after the contest, Shelton’s momma was attended to by medics and taken backstage on a stretcher after collapsing at ringside (the bout began during the commercial break)

2/16/06 – featured Vince McMahon airing a series of clips showcasing moments in Shawn Michaels’ career, including the “Lost My Smile” promo from 2/13/97, Michaels & Triple H showing footage of the “Curtain Call” during the 10/6/97 Raw, and the Michaels / McMahon confrontation from the 12/26/05 Raw in which Michaels told McMahon to “Move on” from the Montreal Incident; included an in-ring retirement ceremony for Michaels conducted by McMahon in which McMahon said he was going to put together a tribute video for Michaels and fly his family down but Michaels deserved more; he then brought out the Spirit Squad to give a cheer in Michaels’ honor; moments later, Michaels refused to sign the retirement papers, saying he loved the job too much to walk away from it; Michaels then tore up the paperwork, with Vince then slapping him in the face and leaving the ring; as Michaels prepared to fight McMahon, Vince took the mic and said that by not signing the papers Michaels opened the floodgates to his own personal hell; featured the announcement that Bret Hart would be inducted into the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame on April 1; included a backstage segment in which Jack, Trish Stratus’ boyfriend, found Mickie James in Trish’s dressing room wearing a wig to look like the women’s champion; moments later, Mickie took off the wig and began screaming for help claiming Jack was hurting her and security took him away; after the commercial break, Mickie told Trish her side of the story to convince her that she had been victimized; featured footage of Stacy Keibler perfoming on “Dancing with the Stars” and earning a perfect score on that week’s episode:
Road to WrestleMania Semi-Finals: Triple H fought WWE Raw Tag Team Champion the Big Show to a double count-out at 13:33 when Show grabbed Triple H by the throat and pulled him off the ring apron as both men began fighting on the floor; after the bout, the two continued to brawl at ringside until a bloody Show speared Triple H through the retaining barrier as Triple H attempted to hit Show with a steel chair; moments later, Vince McMahon announced backstage that both men would meet the winner of the RVD / Masters match the following week in a triple threat match
Shelton Benjamin (w/ Momma Benjamin) pinned Eugene with the Exploder suplex at 1:30; due to pre-match stipulations, Benjamin earned an IC title shot for the following week; after the bout, Benjamin cut a promo in the ring saying no one would be calling him “momma’s boy” after his match with Ric Flair the following week because they would be calling him champion instead

WWE World Champion John Cena pinned Edge at 19:45 by catching the challenger coming off the top and hitting the FU; Lita was in the challenger’s corner early on but was ejected by guest referee Mick Foley at the 10-minute mark when he caught her trying to untie a turnbuckle pad; she returned late in the contest to help Edge use the title belt as a weapon; after the match, Lita and Edge assaulted Foley 2/20/06; Trenton, NJ; Sovereign Bank Arena

WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Kane pinned Chris Masters at 3:16; after the bout, Masters attacked Kane from behind and applied the full nelson
Shelton Benjamin (w/ Momma Benjamin) pinned WWE IC Champion Ric Flair with the Exploder suplex to win the title at 11:49 after twice hitting the champion with Momma Benjamin’s oxygen tank as she faked having heart problems on the floor, distracting the referee
Shawn Michaels defeated Nicky, (w/ Mitch) via disqualification in a handicap match at 5:39 when all five members of the Spirit Squad attacked Michaels; moments later, Marty Jannetty helped make the save and cleared the Spirit Squad from the ring
Carlito Caribbean Cool pinned Nick Burke with the reverse neckbreaker at the 55-second mark; Carlito did his own commentary for the bout and afterwards said he had plans for WrestleMania that were “money in the bank”
Road to WrestleMania Finals: Triple H defeated Rob Van Dam and WWE Raw Tag Team Champion the Big Show by pinning RVD with the Pedigree at 13:04 after RVD hit the Five Star Frog Splash on Show but Triple H prevented referee Mike Chioda from making the 3-count; due to pre-match stipulations, Triple H earned a WWE World Title shot at WrestleMania; after the bout, WWE World Champion John Cena came out and had a face-to-face confrontation with Triple H

2/27/06- – featured an opening in-ring promo by Edge, alongside Lita, in which he demanded Mick Foley answer his challenge to a match at WrestleMania 22; Foley initially declined but eventually accepted after Edge noted Foley had never won at WrestleMania or even had a classic performance; Foley then said the two should have a hardcore match and chased Edge and Lita away with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire; included Jonathan Coachman conducting an in-ring interview with WWE World Champion John Cena, with Triple H interrupting before Cena could say a word, noting Cena was nothing more than a transitional champion and wasn’t a very good wrestler; Cena replied by saying he agreed he wasn’t the WWE’s greatest athlete but that he wasn’t afraid of Triple H; Vince McMahon then appeared on the big screen and said Cena & Triple H would be tag team partners at Saturday Night’s Main Event and would face World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, & Rey Mysterio Jr. in a handicap match; featured a closing in-ring segment in which Marty Jannetty was to join McMahon’s ‘Kiss My Ass Club’ in exchange for a WWE contract; Jannetty, however, couldn’t go through with it so McMahon chose Chris Masters as Plan B, saying Jannetty would have to break the full nelson; McMahon then kicked Jannetty in the gut while he was in the hold and pulled his pants down, saying Jannetty would join the club after all; Shawn Michaels then made the save but was attacked from behind by Shane McMahon as Shawn attempted to hit Vince with a steel chair; Shane then forced Michaels, knocked out, to kiss McMahon’s ass as the show ended:

Shawn Michaels fought Triple H & Shane McMahon (w/ Vince McMahon) to a no contest at around the 7:30 mark when John Cena returned to the ring and helped Michaels clear the ring of a half dozen of McMahon’s security guards, hitting the FU and superkick, respectively, on the last two; moments later, as the show came to a close, Vince grabbed the mic and said that he would face Cena the following week

WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Kane defeated Carlito Caribbean Cool via disqualification at 2:57 when Carlito pulled the referee into Kane as Kane attempted the chokeslam; after the bout, Kane chased Carlito backstage where he was jumped from behind by Chris Masters, Trevor Murdoch, and Lance Cade, with all four men attacking Kane, throwing him into a room, and then blocking the door with a forklift; moments later, the Big Show appeared and fought off the opposition but was unable to move the forklift; after several minutes of Big Show trying to free Kane from the room by physically moving the forklift, Kane appeared and told Show there was another door
Shawn Michaels defeated Triple H via disqualification at around the 14-minute mark when Vince McMahon, who appeared ringside mid-way through the contest, entered the ring and held Michaels for Triple H to hit with the sledgehammer after Michaels sustained the Pedigree; moments later, Triple H shoved the referee to the mat and was about to hit Michaels with the weapon until John Cena came out and, after a brief staredown during which Triple H put the sledgehammer down, Cena cleared Triple H from the ring; during the commercial on WWE Unlimited, McMahon said that he would have Triple H in his corner during the night’s main event and Cena could have Michaels in his (the bell never rang to end the match nor was an official decision announced)
Mikey, Johnny, & Kenny (w/ Nicky & Mitch) defeated Eugene, Viscera, & Val Venis when Johnny pinned Venis at 3:53 after Mikey shoved Venis off the top; after the bout, the Spirit Squad hit Viscera with their megaphone, threw Eugene in the air, and held Venis down as Kenny hit a legdrop off the top onto Venis’ shoulder after it was seemingly injured during the finish; moments later, the Squad did a cheer on the stage, saying Vince McMahon would beat John Cena in the main event

Charlie Haas pinned WWE IC Champion Shelton Benjamin in a non-title match at 6:54 with a double leg pickup into a roll over; due to pre-match stipulations, Benjamin’s match against Rob Van Dam at Backlash would be for the IC title; had Benjamin won, the match against RVD would be for the Money in the Bank world title shot (Haas’ surprise return after a 10-month absence)
Shawn Michaels defeated Umaga (w/ Armando Allejandro Estrada) via disqualification at 5:54 when Umaga shoved the referee out of the way as he assaulted Michales who was hung upside down in the corner; after the bout, Umaga dropped Michaels with the thumb strike to the throat until Vince McMahon, who came ringside early in the bout, ordered Umaga backstage; McMahon then tied Michaels in the ring ropes and grabbed a chair from ringside but was scared backstage after two pyro explosions kept him from entering the ring; as McMahon reached the top of the ramp, a line of fire spewed up keeping him from returning ringside
WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Kenny, Johnny, Mikey, Nicky, & Mitch defeated Rob Van Dam in a handicap match at 1:18 when Kenny scored the pin with a legdrop off the top as the four other Spirit Squad members held RVD in the air; due to pre-match stipulations, RVD’s match against Shelton Benjamin at Backlash would be for both the IC title and the Money in the Bank world title shot; had RVD won, the match would only be for the IC title

WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Mikey, Nicky, & Johnny defeated Eugene, Goldust & Gene Snitsky at 4:22 when Johnny pinned Eugene with a Johnny-Go-Round spin kick after avoiding the Stunner; prior to the match, footage was shown of the Eugene / Matt Striker altercation at Backlash; during the bout, Vince McMahon was shown watching the match from backstage with Candice Michelle; after the commercial break, Todd Grisham interviewed Eugene about the match, with Eugene insulting Eric Bischoff, until he was attacked by Striker
Kane pinned Rob Conway with the tombstone at 2:48; Kane hit Conway over the head with a trash can and hit the chokeslam but then walked out of the match until guest referee Shawn Michaels grabbed the mic, repeatedly said “May 19th,” and then laid the mic on Conway’s body so Kane would think he was the one who said it; under orders of the Spirit Squad, Michaels was forced to wear a shirt that had “May 19th” written across it but he hit a low blow on Conway before the match and put the shirt on him prior to Kane’s entrance

WWE IC Champion Rob Van Dam & Carlito Caribbean Cool defeated Shelton Benjamin & Chris Masters in an impromptu match at around the 8-minute mark when Carlito pinned Benjamin with a roll up and grabbing the tights for leverage after Charlie Haas, who came through the crowd, prevented Benjamin from using a steel chair; the match was originally a Masterlock Challenge for RVD but turned into a tag match when Benjamin attacked RVD, with Carlito then making the save; moments later, Mikey of the Spirit Squad came out and ordered the four to face off in a tag team match; late in the bout, Joey Styles left the commentary position after receiving a note from the Spirit Squad that he was needed backstage; moments later, the Spirit Squad bullied Styles backstage and said he better improve his game or the next week he would have to wear a cheerleading outfit on Raw (the match began during the commercial break)
WWE World Champion John Cena pinned WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Kenny (w/ WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Mikey, Nicky, Johnny, & Mitch) with the FU at 8:03 after he and guest referee Shawn Michaels laid out the Spirit Squad; Triple H was the initial referee for the match, after being ordered to do it by Vince McMahon who threatened him by not giving him any more title matches, but walked out of the contest late in the match after a confrontation with Kenny and dropping Mitch with the Pedigree; as Triple H walked up the ramp, Michaels came out wearing a referee shirt and the two had a lengthy staredown before eventually glancing at the crowd and going their different ways; Todd Grisham did commentary for the bout alongside Lawler 5/8/06; Anaheim, CA; Arrowhead Pond

Matt Striker defeated Carlito Caribbean Cool via disqualification at 2:00 when Eugene interfered and attacked Striker as Carlito was in control of the match; after the contest, Carlito dropped Striker with a modified Flatliner and hit the Back Cracker on Eugene
Mick Foley defeated Edge (w/ Lita) and Tommy Dreamer in a hardcore match at 2:19 when both he and Edge covered Dreamer following a Mandible Claw from Foley and the spear from Edge; prior to the bout, Foley said Edge agreed to any match Foley wanted and Foley wanted a triple threat match; he then introduced Tommy Dreamer as the third participant; Foley and Edge spent the entirety of the match double teaming Dreamer with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire causing him to bleed profusely; after the contest, Foley and Edge shook hands before leaving the ring with Lita
WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James pinned Maria (w/ Trish Stratus) in a non-title match with a DDT at 1:56; after the bout, the champion stomped Maria until Trish attempted to make the save but Mickie targetted her injured shoulder; as Mickie began choking Trish, a blonde woman came out of the crowd and jumped Mickie until she was pulled off by security; Mickie then angrily yelled at the woman as she was held down by security, indicating she knew who she was
Umaga (w/ Armando Allejandro Estrada) defeated Kevin Martinson & Tommy Wilson in a handicap match by scoring the pin with a thumb strike to the throat at 2:52
The Big Show fought Kane to a no contest at around 4:40 when Kane became distracted by an image of his old mask on the big screen as he could be heard saying “It’s happening again, May 19th”; moments later, he grabbed a steel chair and began assaulting Show with it, hitting him repeatedly from head to toe

5/22/06 – featured an opening backstage promo by Vince McMahon regarding Triple H accidentally hitting Shane McMahon with a sledgehammer the previous week, during which he said he would demand a formal apology from Triple H later in the night and if a sincere apology did not come then he would retaliate; included an in-ring promo by Mick Foley, in a suit, in which he insulted people in Las Vegas for relying on luck to lead them to success while he earned everything he received; Foley then said the same of Edge before introducing he and Lita; Foley then said Edge embodied everything that hardcore is about and then presented him with the same WWE Hardcore Title that was given to Foley at Madison Square Garden in 2003 but Edge said he didn’t deserve the belt and that Foley was the true Hardcore Champion; Foley said the two should battle one more time to decide who was worthy; Edge agreed but then had Lillian Garcia declare them both as co-Hardcore Champions; moments later, Paul Heyman appeared on the stage and said he was seeing live prostitution on Raw, referring to Foley and not Lita; Foley replied by saying he was a real life action figure and a best-selling author while Heyman had nothing left; Heyman said that while he had no power, he did have a challenge and he challenged the two to face any two ECW names at ECW One Night Stand; while Foley initially said no, Edge agreed to the match after Heyman said Lita was the only one of the three that had nuts; Foley and Edge then went to confront Heyman on the stage but were met by their One Night Stand opponents – Tommy Dreamer & Terry Funk – who assaulted them around ringside before scaring them into the crowd; featured the first announcement on how to enter the 2006 WWE Raw Diva Search; included an in-ring segment with Vince McMahon and Triple H in which Triple H apologized for hitting Shane with the sledgehammer the previous week; Vince said he would only accept the apology if Triple H came out later in the night and attacked Shawn Michaels during the main event; featured comments from movie goers and WWE talent about their reaction to watching “See No Evil”; included a backstage interview with Kane in which he said his mother and adopted family were killed May 19th and said the date has come and gone and he’s better now but will take out his pain on his opponent later in the night; included a backstage segment with Carlito Caribbean Cool and Maria in which Gene Snitsky told them he was expecting a date with a showgirl, then came up behind one and started rubbing her feet only to find out it was Goldust in costume; featured a “This Week in Wrestling” segment focusing on the surprise return of Scott Hall to WCW on May 27, 1996, which led to the formation of the New World Order; included an in-ring segment in which Viscera invited Lillian Garcia into the ring, apologizing for dumping her in Las Vegas at Vengeance last year, and said he was ready to settle down; after asking Lillian to marry him, Armando Allejandro Estrada came out and said that while Viscera was ready for some action, Umaga was ready too; Viscera and Umaga battled around ringside, with Umaga eventually winning the fight after striking Viscera in the throat with his thumb:

Kane pinned Trevor Murdoch with the chokeslam at the 44-second mark; prior to the bout, Murdoch cut an in-ring promo comparing “The Da Vinci Code” to “See No Evil” and said Tom Hanks was a better actor than Kane; after the match, Kane hit the move two more times; moments later, a picture of Kane’s old mask appeared on the big screen, with his own voice telling Kane that while he thought it was going to end on May 19th, it will never be over
WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James pinned Torrie Wilson in a non-title match with a jumping DDT at 1:55; after the bout, Trish Stratus came out on the stage, her arm still in a sling, said that Beth Phoenix would not be illegally attacking Mickie anymore because she was now an official member of the Raw roster; Trish then introduced Beth, scaring Mickie to the floor where Beth assaulted her from behind after coming out of the crowd; moments later, Mickie escaped through the crowd

Melina (w/ WWE IC Champion Johnny Nitro) pinned Trish Stratus with a roll up and grabbing the tights for leverage at 3:57 after Trish hit a baseball slide on Nitro; after the bout, Carlito Caribbean Cool made the save and helped clear the ring of Nitro and Melina; moments later, Jim Ross announced that Carlito & Trish would face Nitro & Melina at Saturday Night’s Main Event

Viscera fought Charlie Haas to a no contest at around the 3:30 mark when Lillian Garcia, upset over both wrestlers trying to upstage one another to impress her, got in the ring and told them she wanted to be friends with both of them but nothing more; moments later, Viscera sustained a poke to the eye and accidentally dropped Lillian with a Samoan Drop; as medics fitted Lillian for a neckbrace, Viscera and Haas smiled and left ringside together; after the bout, Edge & Lita were shown drinking mimosas at the hotel bar when the hotel cleark interrupted and told them their room would soon be ready
Randy Orton pinned Val Venis with the RKO at the 20-second mark; prior to the bout, Orton cut an in-ring promo on the fact Hulk Hogan would be at Saturday Night’s Main Event and would personally introduce himself to Hogan at the show; after the match, Orton said he was looking forward to meeting Brooke Hogan as well; Todd Grisham was the ring announcer for the match, filling in for the injured Lillian Garcia; moments later, Edge & Lita were shown watching the match from their hotel room when room service arrived; Edge then sent the hotel employee back down because he didn’t bring any champagne; after the commercial break, Edge went to answer the door where he was attacked by John Cena, thrown around the room, and eventually hit in the face with the title belt before Cena walked away

Kane pinned Shelton Benjamin at 2:44 by catching Benjamin coming off the top and hitting the chokeslam; due to pre-match stipulations, Kane became the #1 contender to the IC title; WWE IC Champion Johnny Nitro & Melina sat ringside for the bout

WWE IC Champion Johnny Nitro (w/ Melina) defeated Randy Orton, Carlito Caribbean Cool, Super Crazy, Chris Masters, and Jeff Hardy at around the 15-minute mark by pinning Masters after Hardy hit the Swanton on Masters and was thrown out to the floor by Nitro; the match came about after Nitro interrupted Orton’s in-ring promo in which he claimed to be the future of the business, with Nitro saying Orton had been coasting on his reputation for years; after Orton said he could take Nitro’s title and his woman whenever he wanted, Chris Masters came out and argued he was the future of the business, with Nitro, Melina, and Orton then laughing and making fun of Masters for his recent losing streak; Carlito Caribbean Cool then appeared, congratulated Orton for his win the previous night, and then said he was a sore loser before jumping Orton, leading to Crazy and Hardy joining the in-ring brawl; moments later, Jonathan Coachman interrupted the fight to announce all six men would compete for the title (the bout began during the commercial break)

11/20/06 – featured an opening in-ring segment with WWE World Champion John Cena, Kane, Bobby Lashley, Rob Van Dam, & Sabu in which Cena addressed the attack he sustained the previous week from Umaga and the Big Show and then challenged Show’s team to come out and face his own; moments later, WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Edge & Randy Orton, Johnny Nitro, Melina, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms, and Mike Knox appeared in the crowd, with Edge & Orton putting over the fact they won the tag team titles the previous week and that Nitro would regain the WWE IC Title later in the show; moments later, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Arn Anderson, & Sgt. Slaughter appeared from another part of the building and said Orton & Edge were pathetic and won the titles in a glorified handicap match; the Spirit Squad then appeared in another area of the crowd and said Flair was pathetic for thinking his team could beat the Squad at Survivor Series; just as Kenny prepared to debut a new cheer, the DX team of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, CM Punk, Matt & Jeff Hardy appeared with Michaels saying they should start the Royal Rumble right now, before Triple H corrected him; Triple H then said Flair’s team could beat up the Spirit Squad anytime they wanted and Big Show wasn’t coming out because there was an open case of Twinkies backstage; ECW World Champion the Big Show, MVP, Finlay, Umaga, Armando Allejandro Estrada, and Test then walked out on the stage to respond to Cena’s challenge; after all of the teams prepared to do battle in the ring, Vince McMahon appeared and stopped the fight, saying the captains of each team would compete in an 8-man tag team match – Cena, Flair, Michaels, & Triple H vs. Show, Orton, Edge, & Kenny – and that there would be other individual matches involving Survivor Series opponents; included Chris Masters confronting Torrie Wilson in the ring as Torrie shot t-shirts into the crowd; moments later, Carlito Caribbean Cool made the save and knocked Masters to the floor but Masters jumped Carlito after he helped Torrie out of the ring and locked him in the Masterlock until Jerry Lawler got in the ring; featured Todd Grisham interviewing Johnny Nitro & Melina backstage about Nitro’s first-ever ladder match later in the show, which Melina dedicated to Kevin Federline; Melina then said she and Nitro couldn’t wait to see Federline beat John Cena on January 1 in Miami; included a backstage segment in which Johnny volunteered to face Dusty Rhodes later in the show but Kenny turned him down and appointed Nicky instead; moments later, Kenny confronted Ric Flair about the mystery man Flair would get to replace the injured Roddy Piper, with Flair saying he had two words for Kenny – “Whoo” and Ron Simmons then appeared to finish with “Damn;” featured a “This Week in Wrestling History” focusing on the Undertaker’s debut on Nov. 22, 1990 at the Survivor Series, as well as his string of WrestleMania victories, his WWE World Titles, and the various stipulation matches he introduced; several members of the Baltimore Ravens sat ringside for the event; included Todd Grisham conducting a backstage interview with Dusty Rhodes about his match later in the show; featured a backstage confrontation between Cryme Tyme and WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Edge & Randy Orton in which Edge said he was down with black people and that he would leave DX looking like Cryme Tyme – black and blue; included a look at the gore in “See No Evil,” newly released on DVD; featured the announcement Rob Van Dam would face Hardcore Holly the following night on ECW in an extreme rules match:
