March to WrestleMania VIII: A Tribute to Hulk Hogan – 3/29/92 – featured opening footage of Hulk Hogan winning the WWF World Title from the Iron Sheik at Madison Square Garden in 1984; included a segment of Vince McMahon walking past giant poster images from Hogan’s career before introducing highlights from the Hogan vs. Andre the Giant match from WrestleMania III; featured the Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior match, in full, from WrestleMania VI; included Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan on commentary for the previously unaired matches; featured pretaped footage of McMahon conducting a sit-down interview with Elizabeth in her home regarding the accusations made by Flair, with Elizabeth saying she and Randy Savage were upset with WWF Magazine for publishing the photos of she and WWF World Champion Ric Flair, which she said were faked; Elizabeth then said Savage was taking negatives of the photos to WWF Magazine to prove they were fakes and was upset that the magazine took Flair’s statements at face value and that she and Savage’s reputations have been hurt because of it; she continued by saying they would be vindicated when WWF Magazine ran the real photos but the incident had scared her for life; included McMahon conducting a sit-down interview with Hogan in the studio, with photos from Hogan’s career behind him, in which Hogan discussed his final test against Sid Justice at WrestleMania and noting it would preserve or destroy Hulkamania; Hogan went on to say Hulkamania was an intangible and working 100% towards an impossible goal and that Justice stood for shortcuts; McMahon then asked whether WrestleMania would be Hogan’s last match, with Hogan saying that question made him sweat and that he didn’t have an answer but he would know when the match was over; McMahon then thanked Hogan on behalf of the fans for the memories and inspiration, with the two men then shaking hands:
Shawn Michaels (w/ Sensational Sherri) defeated WWF IC Champion Roddy Piper via disqualification in a non-title match at the 8-minute mark when referee Earl Hebner, who had been knocked down moments earlier, caught Piper trying to hit Michaels with Sherri’s boot; moments earlier, Michaels attempted to use the same weapon on Piper; after the match, Piper yelled at Hart for costing him the match, with Hart not saying a word and then throwing the IC title into the ring towards Piper before leaving ringside (1992 Year in Review)
WWF World Champion Ric Flair (w/ Mr. Perfect) defeated Jim Brunzell via submission with the figure-4 in a non-title match at 3:59; prior to the bout, a video package aired recapping the history between Randy Savage, Flair, and Elizabeth; during the match, Bobby Heenan noted that the robe Flair would wear at WrestleMania cost him $50,000; a graphic appeared during the conteset advertising the WrestleMania Hotline
Jake Roberts pinned Jim Powers with the DDT at 3:07; during the bout, a graphic appeared on the screen advertising the WrestleMania Hotline
The Natural Disasters defeated Kato & Barry Horowitz at 1:57 when Earthquake pinned Horowitz with the sit-down splash 3/7/93; Fayetteville, NC
March to WrestleMania IX – 3/28/93 – featured Vince McMahon & Bobby Heenan on commentary; included footage from All American Wrestling of the contract signing between WWF World Champion Bret Hart and Yokozuna, after which Yoko attacked Hart and hit the Bonzai Drop; moments later, officials – including Sgt. Slaughter – forced Yoko away from Hart as the champion struggled to his feet – but then fell back down; Yoko was then ejected from ringside as Hart then successfully pulled himself up; featured a WrestleMania IX Report, with comments from Hart; included an interview with Hulk Hogan, Brutus Beefcake, & Jimmy Hart regarding their tag team title match against WWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & IRS at WrestleMania; featured a closing music video in tribute to Hart to the tune of Aretha Franklin’s “Respect”:
Yokozuna (w/ Mr. Fuji) pinned Randy Savage with a belly to belly suplex at 6:37 after Fuji hit Savage with his flag pole, behind the referee’s back, knocking Savage off the top rope; after the contest, Yoko attempted the Bonzai Drop but Savage moved out of the way and knocked Yoko to the floor with a running knee to the back; moments later, Yoko attempted to get back in the ring but several officials – including JJ Dillon and Rene Goulet – along with referees came out and forced him backstage
Mr. Perfect pinned Skinner with the Perfect Plex
Kamala pinned Kimchee with a splash
WWF Tag Team Champions Ted Dibiase & IRS defeated Reno Riggins & Jerry Sabin after Dibiase locked Riggins in the Million $ Dream
Tatanka pinned George South with the Samoan Drop; after the bout, Shawn Michaels came to the ring and was sent to the floor by Tatanka via a chop
The Bushwhackers & Tiger Jackson defeated the Beverly Brothers & Little Louie at 9:57 when Tiger pinned Louie with a crossbody off the top (Grudges, Gripes, & Grunts)
