2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Alexander Bagwell defeated Paul Orndorff & the Equalizer in an unadvertised match at 10:46 when Scorpio pinned the Equalizer with the 450 splash after Orndorff accidentally hit his partner; after the bout, Orndorff & the Equalizer laid out both their opponents
Ice Train pinned Shanghai Pierce (w/ Tex Slazenger) with a powerslam at 3:28; after the match, Train fought off both men
The Nasty Boys (w/ Missy Hyatt) defeated WCW Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson & Paul Roma to win the titles at 23:58 when Knobbs pinned Roma following Saggs’ elbowsmash off the top behind the back of referee Randy Anderson, moments after Knobbs sustained the spinebuster / swandive double team; after the match, Ventura interviewed the Nastys & Missy at ringside in which Missy said that was payback for what Ric Flair did to her and she and the Nastys said the Horsemen were dead (Missy’s surprise debut with the Nasty Boys)
Cactus Jack pinned Yoshi Kwan (w/ Harley Race) with the double arm DDT at 3:39; after the bout, Cactus suplexed Race into the ring, regained his bag, and issued a challenge to Vader for Hallween Havoc

Kevin Sullivan (w/ Dave Sullivan) pinned Cactus Jack in a loser leaves WCW match at 6:38 when Cactus collided with Dave on the ring apron as Dave attempted to pull a steel chair away from Kevin (Cactus’ last appearance)
Steve Austin defeated WCW US Champion Ricky Steamboat via forfeit to win the title; in an in-ring segment, WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel announced that Steamboat was too injured to compete and awarded Austin the title; moments later, Steamboat cut a promo stating he would start rehab the next day and stated while he beat Austin for the belt, Austin never beat him for it; Austin then replied that while Steamboat was one of the greatest of all time, he saved himself “one hell of an ass kicking;” as Austin attempted to leave, Bockwinkel said he would be defending the title during the broadcast and then called for Austin’s opponent to be introduced
Jim Duggan pinned WCW US Champion Steve Austin to win the title at the 40-second mark with a backdrop and splash in an impromptu match; after the bout, Gene Okerlund conducted a ringside interview with Duggan regarding his title win and his supporting WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan in his feud against Ric Flair (Duggan’s surprise TV debut)
WCW Tag Team Champions Paul Orndorff & Paul Roma defeated Marcus Alexander Bagwell & the Patriot at 12:59 when Roma pinned Bagwell, moments after the Patriot, the illegal man, dropped Roma with the full nelson slam in the ring and Orndorff dropped Bagwell with the piledriver on the floor; prior to the bout, Bagwell & the Patriot congratulated WCW US Champion Jim Duggan as he made his way backstage; moments later, security ejected Barry Darsow from the arena after he touched one of the challengers
Vader (w/ Harley Race) pinned the Guardian Angel at 7:07 with the Vader Bomb after Race interfered and hit a headbutt on Angel, as referee Nick Patrick was knocked down, as Angel had Vader covered following the sidewalk slam; prior to the bout, WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel had Vader, Angel, and Sting come out to see who would wrestle first in the scheduled triangle match; after Sting received the bye, Vader and Sting had a confrontation before the Angel told Sting he would handle it
Vader (w/ Harley Race) defeated Sting at 25:14; stipulations stated the winner of the triangle match would be the #1 contender to the WCW World Title; the bout initially went to a 15-minute time-limit draw at 16:45, as Sting had Vader in the Scorpion Deathlock but Vader had the ropes, with referee Nick Patrick then calling for a 5-minute overtime; the overtime expired at 5:37, as Vader had Sting covered following the powerbomb, with Patrick then calling for a sudden death period where the first man knocked off his feet would lose; during the final moments of the bout, the Guardian Angel came out and fought with Race, distracting Patrick as Sting knocked Vader down, with a masked man then coming out and hitting Sting in the leg; moments later, Vader got back to his feet behind the referee’s back, with Patrick declaring him the winner
The Nasty Boys, Dusty & Dustin Rhodes defeated Arn Anderson, Terry Funk, Bunkhouse Buck, & Col. Rob Parker (w/ Meng) in Wargames at 19:06 when Parker submitted after Dusty put him in a figure-4 and the Nastys repeatedly hit elbow drops on him; prior to the bout, footage recapping the feud between the Rhodes and the Stud Stable was shown, including the announcement that Parker, not Meng, would be part of Wargames; order of entry: Dustin, Anderson, Buck, Jerry Saggs, Funk, Brian Knobbs, Parker, and Dusty (WarGames: WCW’s Most Notorious Matches)

Johnny B. Badd pinned Brian Pillman at 29:57 when both men went for a crossbody and Badd landed on top; pre-match stipulations stated the winner would receive a WCW US Title shot on WCW Saturday Night Sept. 30; Pillman was booed upon his introduction and worked the match as a subtle heel; the match originally went to a 20-minute time-limit draw at 20:05, as Pillman had Badd down in a backslide, but referee Nick Patrick ruled the match would continue until a winner was decided; late in the bout, Badd hit the Bad Day hurricanrana off the top but Pillman kicked out at 2; moments later, Pillman hit his top rope DDT but Badd kicked out at 2
Sgt. Craig Pittman defeated Cobra via submission with the Code Red at 1:21 after avoiding a shoulderblock off the top; prior to the bout, one of Pittman’s recruits appeared upon Pittman’s introduction and distracted Cobra as Pittman was lowered from the rafters and attacked Cobra from behind; the recruit was later known as Prince Iaukea
Diamond Dallas Page (w/ Maxx Muscle & Kimberly) pinned WCW TV Champion the Renegade (w/ Jimmy Hart) to win the title at 8:05 with the Diamond Cutter as Muscle grabbed the champion’s foot as he tried to get back in the ring, moments after the Renegade hit a clothesline from the top rope onto Muscle on the floor
Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri) defeated WCW Tag Team Champions Dick Slater & Bunkhouse Buck (w/ Col. Rob Parker) to win the titles at 16:49 when Stevie Ray pinned Buck after the Nasty Boys interfered and hit Buck with his own boot behind the referee’s back, as Sherri and Parker kissed in the second ring; after the match, the two teams argued with their respective manager for the kissing incident; moments later, Gene Okerlund conducted an interview in the aisle with Buck, Slater, and Parker in which Buck blamed Parker’s infatuation with Sherri for them losing the belts, with Parker sending his team to the showers and then saying he was torn between the loss of the titles and the high of being in love
Arn Anderson pinned Ric Flair at 23:02 with the DDT after Brian Pillman, who was in the crowd watching the match, climbed on the apron behind the referee’s back, traded blows with Flair, and kicked him in the back of the head; prior to the bout, Big Bubba, Col. Rob Parker, Pillman, Marcus Alexander Bagwell, Scotty Riggs, Eddie Guerrero, and Alex Wright were shown watching the match in the crowd; after the bout, Wright and Guerrero were shown going after Pillman toward the backstage area
WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Jimmy Hart), WCW US Champion Sting, Randy Savage, & Lex Luger defeated Meng, the Zodiak, Kamala, & the Shark (w/ Kevin Sullivan) in Wargames at 18:45 when Zodiak submitted to Hogan’s Camel Clutch; Hogan’s team wore camouflage face paint for the match; order of entry: Sting, Shark, Zodiak, Savage, Kamala, Luger, Meng, Hogan; Savage and Luger had an altercation at the 13-minute mark after Luger accidentally knocked Savage down with a clothesline; pre-match stipulations stated Hogan would get Sullivan alone in the ring for 5 minutes if Hogan’s team won; after the bout, Sullivan tried to leave ringside but Sting threw him back in the cage; Hogan assaulted Sullivan for several minutes until the Giant appeared, tossed referee Randy Anderson aside, climbed in the cage, and attacked Hogan from behind; Giant then choked the champion and wrenched his neck before he and Sullivan left ringside, with Sting, Luger, Savage, Hart, and the trainer tending to Hogan in the ring as the show went off the air (WarGames: WCW’s Most Notorious Matches)

Mexican Heavyweight Champion Konnan (w/ Jimmy Hart) pinned Juventud Guerrera (sub. for Psychosis, said to be injured at the hands of Konnan) at 13:46 with a modified sit-down crucifix powerbomb; Mike Tenay provided guest commentary for the bout
Chris Benoit pinned Chris Jericho at 14:40 with a back suplex off the top
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned Super Calo at 15:48 with a double springboard into a hurricanrana and roll up; Mike Tenay provided guest commentary for the bout (Rey Mysterio: Biggest Little Man)
WCW Tag Team Champions Harlem Heat (w/ Sister Sherri & Col. Rob Parker) defeated the Nasty Boys at 15:32 when Booker T pinned Brian Knobbs when, after the challengers hit a pumphandle slam / splash off the middle turnbuckle double team on Booker, Sherri interfered as referee Mark Curtis was distracted by Parker on the ring apron and hit Knobbs over the head with Parker’s cane as Knobbs had Booker covered
The Giant pinned Randy Savage at 7:48 when, after Savage bodyslammed the Giant and hit the flying elbowsmash, WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan appeared ringside, drawing Savage to the entranceway where he was attacked from behind by Scott Hall & Kevin Nash and sustained a chairshot; as referee Nick Patrick checked on the Giant inside the ring, Hogan, Hall, & Nash dragged Savage back to ringside and rolled him inside the ring for the Giant to make the cover
WCW World Champion Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, & the nWo Sting (w/ Ted Dibiase) defeated Sting, Lex Luger, WCW US Champion Ric Flair, & Arn Anderson in Wargames at 18:18 when referees Nick Patrick and Randy Anderson called for the bell after Luger became caught in the nWo Sting’s Scorpion Deathlock as Hogan had Luger in a choke; order of entry: Hall, Anderson, Nash, Luger, Hogan, Flair, nWo Sting, and Sting; the participants remained backstage until they were officially in the match; upon his entrance, Sting single-handedly laid out the nWo before walking out on his team for them not believing him; after the match, Luger crawled in the aisle, calling for Sting, until he was attacked by the nWo; moments later, Flair and Anderson brawled with the nWo as Randy Savage cornered Hogan in the ring; moments later, the Giant arrived and twice dropped Savage with the chokeslam, with Miss Elizabeth appearing and begging Hogan to leave Savage alone; as Elizabeth covered Savage’s body, Hogan spraypainted “NWO” across her back; Hogan then cut an in-ring promo calling Savage and Elizabeth trash and spitting on Elizabeth; the nWo then continued to stomp Savage before the Giant spraypainted “NWO” on his back and again dropped him with the chokeslam; moments later, the nWo took over the commentary position, scaring off the commentary team, with Dibiase saying he had made some demands to WCW and, because of the Wargames win, intended to see them come true; the trainer and Elizabeth then helped Savage from the ring as the show came to a close (nWo: Back in Black, The Rise and Fall of WCW, WarGames: WCW’s Most Notorious Matches)

Pay-per-view bouts – featured Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, & Larry Zbyzsko on commentary; included backstage footage of Jeff Jarrett speaking with a WCWwrestling.com representative about facing Dean Malenko later in the night and taking on Curt Hennig the following Friday during the Battle in Seattle card that would be covered live on the website; featured a backstage segment in which Gene Okerlund said he would have Arn Anderson on the hotline later in the night; moments later, Kevin Nash, Buff Bagwell, Konnan, and Syxx ran past him and into a nearby room; after they left, Okerlund found Curt Hennig down an injured in the room; included a backstage promo by Nash, Bagwell, Konnan, & Syxx in which they claimed Hennig tried to jump them and they had to defend themselves; they then cut a promo on facing the Horsemen in Wargames later in the show; featured Okerlund conducting a backstage interview with Ric Flair, Chris Benoit, & Steve McMichael regarding the injury to Hennig and facing the New World Order in Wargames; included an ad promoting Halloween Havoc 97:
Eddie Guerrero pinned WCW Cruiserweight Champion Chris Jericho with the Frog Splash to win the title at 17:20 after landing on top of the champion as Jericho attempted a superplex; Mike Tenay provided guest commentary for the match (Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story, Breaking the Code: Behind the Walls of Chris Jericho)
Rick & Scott Steiner (w/ Ted Dibiase) defeated Harlem Heat (w/ Jacquline) at 11:44 when Rick pinned Stevie Ray following a clothesline / German suplex double team; prior to the bout, Larry Zbyzsko came out to join the commentary team
WCW TV Champion Alex Wright pinned the Ultimo Dragon with a German suplex into a bridge at 18:43 after using a jawbreaker to block the dragon sleeper; Mike Tenay provided guest commentary for the match
Jeff Jarrett defeated Dean Malenko via submission with the figure-4 at 14:54 after clipping Malenko in his injured knee; prior to the bout, Jarrett was escorted ringside by Debra but he sent her backstage before the match, citing he didn’t want any distractions; she returned late in the contest; stipulations stated the winner would earn a WCW US Title shot at Halloween Havoc
Mortis & Wrath (w/ James Vandenburg) defeated Meng & the Barbarian when Wrath pinned Meng following the Death Penalty at 12:33 after Meng put both Vendenburg and Mortis in the Tongan Death Grip
The Giant pinned Scott Norton with a dropkick and the chokeslam at 5:29
Lex Luger & Diamond Dallas Page defeated Randy Savage (w/ Elizabeth) & WCW Tag Team Champion Scott Hall at 10:18 when Luger pinned Hall with a roll up after Larry Zbyzsko left the broadcast booth after Hall knocked out two referees, distracted Hall as Luger came to his senses in the ring, and made a fast count for Luger as he had Hall covered
Kevin Nash, Buff Bagwell, Syxx, & Konnan defeated Ric Flair, Curt Hennig, Chris Benoit, & WCW US Champion Steve McMichael in Wargames at 19:38 when McMichael, handcuffed to the cage along with Benoit, gave up when Nash threatened to have the cage door slammed against Flair’s head after Hennig turned on his team to join the New World Order; initially Flair, Benoit, & McMichael came out alone; Hennig appeared mid-way through the match with his arm in a sling, an apparant injury sustained from the nWo earlier in the show; Hennig entered the cage as the last man and immediately gave the nWo two pair of handcuffs, which they used on Benoit and McMichael; after the bout, Hennig slammed the cage door against Flair’s head anyway (WarGames: WCW’s Most Notorious Matches)

Pay-per-view bouts – featured Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, & Mike Tenay on commentary; the crowd repeatedly chanted “We want Flair” during the show; included WCW TV Champion Chris Jericho interrupting Gene Okerlund in the aisle, with Jericho announcing he would face WCW World Champion Bill Goldberg later in the night in a title vs. title match; featured Okerlund speaking with Scott Steiner & Buff Bagwell in which they provided a doctor’s note stating Scott was too injured to compete; moments later, JJ Dillon walked by, read the note, and said Scott was out of excuses and would be wrestling his brother Rick later in the show as scheduled or he would face a lifetime suspension from WCW; included pre-taped footage of Mike Tenay interviewing Scott & Steve Armstrong in which Ernest Miller interrupted, with Miller laying out both men with kicks before Norman Smiley appeared and the two men were held apart; featured Konnan doing a backstage interview for WCW.com in which Scott Hall interrupted and threw a drink in his face; included the announcement Jim Duggan would go home from the hospital tomorrow after having a football-sized tumor removed from his kidney:

WCW TV Champion Chris Jericho defeated a fake Bill Goldberg via submission with the Liontamer at 1:14; prior to the match, Jericho and his security guards, one of which was Ralphus, walked through the hallways for several minutes before they finally found the way out to the ring; after the bout, Jericho tore up “Goldberg'”s toy world title belt
Ernest Miller pinned Norman Smiley with a spin kick at 5:04
Rick Steiner fought Scott Steiner (w/ Buff Bagwell) to a no contest at around the 5:30 mark when referee Mark Curtis stopped the match several moments after noticing Bagwell laying motionless on the apron after Rick grabbed him by the throat and rammed him into the steel ringpost while on the ring apron; moments later, medics and trainers came out and took Bagwell backstage on a stretcher and in a neckbrace; Eric Bischoff appeared to check on his condition as Bagwell was taken backstage and loaded into the back of an ambulance; Scott climbed in the amublance as well and, just after the door closed, both Scott and Bagwell attacked Rick Steiner outside the ambulance until security intervened – proving the entire scenario was a rouse
WCW Cruiserweight Champion Juventud Guerrera pinned Silver King with the Juvi Driver and 450 splash at 8:36

Diamond Dallas Page, Warrior, & Roddy Piper defeated Kevin Nash, Sting, and Lex Luger and Hulk Hogan, WCW US Champion Bret Hart, and Stevie Ray in Wargames at 20:04 when DDP pinned Stevie Ray with the Diamond Cutter; smoke filled the ring at the 16-minute mark as Hogan attacked the “Warrior,” with the Warrior disappearing only to run to the ring moments later; Hogan later escaped the cage and had it locked behind him with Warrior escaping as well and brawling with Hogan to the back; after the match, DDP celebrated into the crowd; due to pre-match stiuplations, Page earned a WCW World Title shot at Halloween Havoc (WarGames: WCW’s Most Notorious Matches)

Rection at 6:46 via KO with the Canadian Maple Leaf after guest ringside enforcer Jim Duggan knocked the challenger off the top with the 2×4 as Rection attempted the moonsault; prior to the bout, Storm cut an in-ring promo inviting the fans to join him for the drive to Kitchener, Ontario for Nitro the following day, citing that once they get a taste of Canada they would immediately give up their American citizenship; after the contest, Duggan took off his referee shirt to reveal a Canadian Maple Leaf shirt underneath, then beat down Chavo Guerrero Jr., the Wall, and Lash Laroux with the 2×4 when they ran out to make the save; stipulations stated Rection would free Major Gunns if he won the match
